Aionian Verses
and all his sons and all his daughters rise to comfort him, and he refuses to comfort himself, and says, “For I go down to my son mourning, to Sheol,” and his father weeps for him. (Sheol )
Ƒometɔwo katã dze agbagba be yewoafa akɔ nɛ do kpoe. Egblɔna be, “Medi be maku le vinye la fafa me,” eye wògawoa avi hehehe! (Sheol )
and he says, “My son does not go down with you, for his brother [is] dead, and he by himself is left; when harm has met him in the way in which you go, then you have brought down my grey hairs in sorrow to Sheol.” (Sheol )
Ke Yakob ɖo eŋu be, “Vinye Benyamin mayi kpli mi o, elabena nɔvia Yosef ku, eye Benyamin koe nye dadaa ƒe vi si susɔ. Ne nane wɔe la, ku ko maku.” (Sheol )
when you have taken also this from my presence, and harm has met him, then you have brought down my grey hairs with evil to Sheol. (Sheol )
Ne miegakplɔ nɔvia hã dzoe le gbɔnye, eye nane wɔe la, maku kple nuxaxa.’ (Sheol )
then it has come to pass, when he sees that the youth is not, that he has died, and your servants have brought down the grey hairs of your servant our father with sorrow to Sheol; (Sheol )
ne ekpɔ be ɖevi la megbɔ kpli mí o la, mía fofo aku, eye wòazu be míawoe na wòyi yɔ me kple nuxaxa. (Sheol )
but if YHWH does a strange thing, and the ground has opened her mouth and swallowed them and all that they have, and they have gone down alive to Sheol, then you have known that these men have despised YHWH.” (Sheol )
Gake nenye be Yehowa ana nu yeye aɖe kura nadzɔ, anyigba nake nu ami wo kple nu sia nu si nye wo tɔ, eye woayi tsiẽƒe agbagbee la, ekema mianya be ŋutsu siawo wɔ nu tovo ɖe Yehowa ŋu.” (Sheol )
and they go down—they and all that they have—alive to Sheol, and the earth closes over them, and they perish from the midst of the assembly; (Sheol )
Ale woyi tsiẽƒe agbagbe kple woƒe nunɔamesiwo katã, eye anyigba tu ɖe wo nu, hetsrɔ̃ wo, eye wodo ɖa le ameha la dome. (Sheol )
For a fire has been kindled in My anger, And it burns to the lowest [part] of Sheol, And consumes earth and its increase, And sets on fire [the] foundations of mountains. (Sheol )
Elabena nye dɔmedzoe do dzo aɖe si bina dea anyigba ƒe tume ke. Ebia anyigba kple eƒe nukuwo katã, eye wòtɔa dzo towo. (Sheol )
YHWH puts to death, and keeps alive, He brings down to Sheol, and brings up. (Sheol )
“Yehowa wua ame gagbɔa agbe ame; enana woyia yɔ me eye wògafɔa ame tso yɔ me. (Sheol )
The cords of Sheol have surrounded me, The snares of death have been before me. (Sheol )
Tsiẽƒe ƒe kawo blam eye ku ƒe mɔtetrewo ɖi kpem. (Sheol )
and you have done according to your wisdom, and do not let his old age go down in peace to Sheol. (Sheol )
Ame nyanue nènye eye ànya nu si nàwɔ; mègana wòaku le ŋutifafa me o. (Sheol )
and now, do not acquit him, for you [are] a wise man, and you have known that which you do to him, and have brought down his old age with blood to Sheol.” (Sheol )
Ke azɔ la, mègabui ame maɖifɔe o. Nunyalae nènye; ànya nu si nàwɔe. Ɖo eƒe ta ƒowɔ la ɖe yɔ me to ʋu me.” (Sheol )
A cloud has been consumed, and it goes, So he who is going down to Sheol does not come up. (Sheol )

Heights of the heavens—what [can] you do? Deeper than Sheol—what [can] you know? (Sheol )
Wokɔkɔ wu dziƒowo, nu ka nàte ŋu awɔ? Wogoglo wu tsiẽƒe ƒe gogloƒewo, nu ka nènya? (Sheol )
O that You would conceal me in Sheol, Hide me until the turning of Your anger, Set a limit for me, and remember me. (Sheol )
“O, ne ɖe nàɣlam ɖe yɔdo me, atsyɔ nu dzinye va se ɖe esime wò dziku nu va yi ɖe! Alo nàɖo ɣeyiɣi nam eye emegbe nàɖo ŋku dzinye ɖe! (Sheol )
If I wait—Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my bed. (Sheol )
Ne aƒe si ko mele mɔ kpɔm na la nye yɔdo, ne meɖo aba ɖe viviti me, (Sheol )
You go down [to] the parts of Sheol, If we may rest together on the dust.” (Sheol )
Ɖe wòayi ɖe ku ƒe agbowo mea? Ɖe nye kplii míayi tome ɖekaea?” (Sheol )
They wear out their days in good, And in a moment go down [to] Sheol. (Sheol )
Woɖua woƒe ƒewo le dzidzedzekpɔkpɔ me eye woyia yɔ me le ŋutifafa me (Sheol )
Drought—also heat—consume snow-waters, Sheol—[those who] have sinned. (Sheol )
Abe ale si dzoxɔxɔ kple kuɖiɖi kplɔa tsikpe si lolõ la dzonae ene la, nenemae yɔdo kplɔa ame siwo wɔa nu vɔ̃ la hã dzonae. (Sheol )
Sheol [is] naked before Him, And there is no covering to destruction. (Sheol )
Ku le ƒuƒlu le Mawu ŋkume, eye wometsyɔ nu gbegblẽ dzi o. (Sheol )
For in death there is no memorial of You, In Sheol, who gives thanks to You? (Sheol )
Ame aɖeke meɖoa ŋku dziwò ne eku o. Ame kae kafua wò tso eƒe yɔdo me? (Sheol )
The wicked turn back to Sheol, All nations forgetting God. (Sheol )
Ame vɔ̃ɖiwo gbugbɔ yi yɔ me, nenema kee nye dukɔ siwo ŋlɔ Mawu be. (Sheol )
For You do not leave my soul to Sheol, Nor give your Holy One to see corruption. (Sheol )

YHWH, You have brought up my soul from Sheol, You have kept me alive, From going down [to] the pit. (Sheol )

O YHWH, do not let me be ashamed, For I have called You, let the wicked be ashamed, Let them become silent to Sheol. (Sheol )
O! Yehowa, mègana ŋu nakpem o, elabena wòe medo ɣli na; ke na ŋu nakpe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo, eye ɖoɖoe nazi le wo nu le yɔme. (Sheol )
They have set themselves as sheep for Sheol, Death afflicts them, And the upright rule over them in the morning, And their form [is] for consumption. Sheol [is] a dwelling for him. (Sheol )

Only, God ransoms my soul from the hand of Sheol, For He receives me. (Selah) (Sheol )

Desolations [are] on them, They go down [to] Sheol—alive, For wickedness [is] in their dwelling, in their midst. (Sheol )
Ku neƒo ɖe nye ketɔwo dzi kpoyi; woneyi yɔdo me agbagbe, elabena nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔwɔ xɔ aƒe ɖe wo dome. (Sheol )
For Your kindness [is] great toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol. (Sheol )

For my soul has been full of evils, And my life has come to Sheol. (Sheol )

Who [is] the man that lives, and does not see death? He delivers his soul from the hand of Sheol. (Selah) (Sheol )
Amegbetɔ kae anɔ agbe, eye maku o, alo aɖe eɖokui tso tsiẽƒe ƒe ŋusẽ me? (Sela) (Sheol )
Cords of death have surrounded me, And straits of Sheol have found me, I find distress and sorrow. (Sheol )
Ku ƒe kawo blam, eye tsiẽƒe ƒe vevesese va dzinye. Hiã tum, eye nuxaxa va dzinye. (Sheol )
If I ascend the heavens—You [are] there, And spread out a bed in Sheol, behold, You! (Sheol )

As one tilling and ripping up in the land, Have our bones been scattered at the command of Saul. (Sheol )

We swallow them as Sheol—alive, And whole—as those going down [to] the pit, (Sheol )

Her feet are going down to death, Her steps take hold of Sheol. (Sheol )
Eƒe afɔ yina ɖe tsĩeƒe ke eye eƒe afɔɖeɖewo yina ɖe yɔdo me tẽe (Sheol )
The ways of Sheol—her house, Going down to inner chambers of death! (Sheol )
Eƒe aƒe nye tsiẽƒe ƒe mɔ gbadza siwo ɖo ta ku ƒe xɔgãwo me. (Sheol )
And he has not known that Rephaim [are] there, Her invited ones in deep places of Sheol! (Sheol )
Ke womenya gɔ̃ hã be ame kukuwo le afi ma o eye eƒe ame kpekpewo le yɔdo ƒe gogloƒe ke o. (Sheol )
Sheol and destruction [are] before YHWH, Surely also the hearts of the sons of men. (Sheol )
Ku kple tsiẽƒe le nuvo le Yehowa ŋkume, kaka wòahanye amegbetɔwo ƒe dzi! (Sheol )
A path of life [is] on high for the wise, To turn aside from Sheol beneath. (Sheol )
Nunyalawo ƒe agbemɔ ɖo ta dzi, be wòakpe ɖe eŋu magaɖiɖi ayi ɖe tsiẽƒe o. (Sheol )
You strike him with a rod, And you deliver his soul from Sheol. (Sheol )
Tsɔ ameƒoti he to nɛ eye àɖe eƒe luʋɔ tso ku me. (Sheol )
Sheol and destruction are not satisfied, And the eyes of man are not satisfied. (Sheol )
Ku kple tsiẽƒe meɖia ƒo gbeɖe o nenema kee nye ame ƒe ŋku. (Sheol )
Sheol, and a restrained womb, Earth—it [is] not satisfied [with] water, And fire—it has not said, “Sufficiency,” (Sheol )
woawoe nye, yɔdo, vidzidɔ si tsi ko, anyigba si tsi meɖia kɔ na o, kple dzo si megblɔna gbeɖe be, ‘Enyo gbɔ!’ o. (Sheol )
All that your hand finds to do, with your power do, for there is no work, and plan, and knowledge, and wisdom in Sheol to where you are going. (Sheol )

Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm, For strong as death is love, Sharp as Sheol is jealousy, Its burnings [are] burnings of fire, a flame of YAH! (Sheol )

Therefore Sheol has enlarged herself, And has opened her mouth without limit. And its honor has gone down, and its multitude, And its noise, and its exulting one—into her. (Sheol )

“Ask for a sign from your God YHWH, Make the request deep, or make [it] high upwards.” (Sheol )
“Bia dzesi Yehowa, wò Mawu la. Eɖanye gogloƒe ke loo alo kɔkɔƒe ke o.” (Sheol )
Sheol beneath has been troubled at you, To meet your coming in, It is waking up Rephaim for you, All chief ones of earth, It has raised up from their thrones All kings of nations. (Sheol )

Your excellence has been brought down to Sheol, The noise of your stringed instruments, The worm has been spread out under you, Indeed, the worm is covering you. (Sheol )
Wotsɔ wò atsyɔ̃ɖoɖo katã ɖi ɖe yɔ me kpe ɖe wò kasaŋkuwo ƒe ɖiɖi ŋuti. Nyẽwo le dodom le tewò, eye ŋɔviwo le tatam le dziwò. (Sheol )
Only—you are brought down to Sheol, To the sides of the pit. (Sheol )
Ke wohe wò ƒu gbe ɖe yɔ me, ɖe tsiẽƒe ƒe gogloƒe ke. (Sheol )
Because you have said: “We have made a covenant with death, And we have made a provision with Sheol, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Does not meet us, Though we have made a lie our refuge, And have been hidden in falsehood.” (Sheol )
Miegblɔna dadatɔe be, “Míeɖo nubabla me kple ku, eye míeɖo gbe ɖi kple yɔdo. Nenye be dɔvɔ̃ zɔ va yi la, maka asi mía ŋu o, elabena míetsɔ alakpa wɔ míaƒe sitsoƒee, eye míetsɔ beble wɔ míaƒe bebeƒee.” (Sheol )
And your covenant with death has been annulled, And your provision with Sheol does not stand, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Then you have been to it for a treading-place. (Sheol )

“I said in the cutting off of my days, I go to the gates of Sheol, I have numbered the remnant of my years. (Sheol )
Megblɔ be, “Le nye agbe ƒe kekeli me, ɖe mato ku ƒe agbowo me, eye woaxɔ nye agbemeŋkeke mamlɛawo le asinyea?” (Sheol )
For Sheol does not confess You, Death does not praise You, Those going down to the pit do not hope for Your truth. (Sheol )
Elabena yɔdo mate ŋu akafu wò o, ku mate ŋu adzi kafukafuhawo na wò o, eye ame siwo yi aʋlime la mate ŋu akpɔ mɔ na wò nuteƒewɔwɔ o. (Sheol )
And go joyfully to the king in ointment, And multiply your perfumes, And send your ambassadors far off, And humble yourself to Sheol. (Sheol )
Èyi ɖe Molek gbɔ kple ami, eye nètsɔ ami ʋeʋĩwo kpe ɖe eŋu fũu. Èɖo wò ame dɔdɔwo ɖe didiƒe ke, eye wò ŋutɔ nèyi tsiẽƒe! (Sheol )
Thus said Lord YHWH: I have caused mourning in the day of his going down to Sheol, I have covered the deep over him, and diminish its flowings, And many waters are restrained, And I make Lebanon black for him, And all trees of the field [have been] a covering for him. (Sheol )
“Ale Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: ‘Gbe si gbe wokɔe de yɔdo me la, mena tsi dzidzi goglowo fa konyi ɖe wo ta. Eya ta meda viviti ɖe Lebanon dzi, eye ati siwo katã le gbedzi la ku. (Sheol )
I have caused nations to shake at the sound of his fall, In My causing him to go down to Sheol, With those going down to the pit, And all trees of Eden are comforted in the lower earth, The choice and good of Lebanon—All drinking waters. (Sheol )
Mena eƒe anyidzedze ƒe ɖiɖi na dukɔwo dzo nyanyanya, esi mena wòge ɖe yɔdo me kple ame siwo yi aʋlime. Ekema atiwo katã le Eden, Lebanon ƒe ati nyuitɔwo, ati siwo katã ŋu tsi nɔ nyuie, wofa akɔ na wo katã le aʋlime. (Sheol )
Those with him have also gone down to Sheol, To the pierced of the sword, And—his arm—they dwelt in his shade in the midst of nations. (Sheol )
Ame siwo nɔ eƒe vɔvɔli te, ame siwo wòtsɔ aʋae le dukɔwo dome la, hã yi yɔdo me kplii, kpe ɖe ame siwo tsi yinu la ŋuti. (Sheol )
The gods of the mighty speak to him out of the midst of Sheol, With his helpers—they have gone down, They have lain with the uncircumcised, The pierced of the sword. (Sheol )
Le yɔdo la me la, kplɔla ŋusẽtɔwo agblɔ tso Egipte kple ame siwo wòtsɔ aʋae la ŋu be, ‘Wova ɖo tome, eye woamlɔ bolotɔwo, ame siwo tsi yinu la dome.’ (Sheol )
And they do not lie with the mighty, Who are falling of the uncircumcised, Who have gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, And they put their swords under their heads, And their iniquities are on their bones, For the terror of the mighty [is] in the land of the living. (Sheol )
Ɖe womemlɔ aʋawɔla bubuawo, ame siwo nye bolotɔwo dome, ame siwo ku, woyi yɔdo la me kple woƒe aʋawɔnuwo, ame siwo ƒe yi wotsɔ da ɖe woƒe ta te oa? Woƒe nu vɔ̃wo ƒe tohehe le woƒe ƒuwo dzi togbɔ be aʋawɔla siawo ƒe ŋɔdzidoname xɔ agbagbeawo ƒe anyigba dzi hã. (Sheol )
Will I ransom them from the hand of Sheol? Will I redeem them from death? Where [is] your plague, O death? Where your destruction, O Sheol? Comfort is hid from My eyes. (Sheol )
“Maɖe wo tso tsiẽƒe ƒe ŋusẽ me, eye maxɔ wo le ku ƒe asi me. O ku, afi ka wò ŋɔdzi la le? O tsiẽƒe, afi ka wò gbegblẽ la le? Elabena nyemakpɔ nublanui o. (Sheol )
If they dig through into Sheol, From there My hand takes them, And if they go up [to] the heavens, From there I cause them to come down. (Sheol )

And he says: “I called, because of my distress, to YHWH, And He answers me, From the belly of Sheol I have cried, You have heard my voice. (Sheol )
“Le nye xaxa gã me, medo ɣli na Yehowa, eye wòɖo tom. Meyɔe le aʋlime ke, eye Yehowa se nye kokoƒoƒo! (Sheol )
And also, because the wine [is] treacherous, A man is haughty, and does not remain at home, Who has enlarged his soul as Sheol, And is as death that is not satisfied, And gathers to itself all the nations, And assembles to itself all the peoples, (Sheol )
Gawu la, wain ɖe hae, edoa eɖokui ɖe dzi eye medzea kɔ anyi o. Elabena ele abe yɔdo si nu meɖia kɔ na o ene eye wògale abe ku si nu meɖia ƒo na o ene. Eƒo dukɔwo katã nu ƒu na eɖokui eye wòdo kluvi amewo katã. (Sheol )
but I say to you that everyone who is angry at his brother without cause will be in danger of the judgment, and whoever may say to his brother, Stupid, will be in danger of the Sanhedrin, and whoever may say, Moron, will be in danger of the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna )

But if your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast from you, for it is good to you that one of your members may perish, and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna. (Geenna )

And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast from you, for it is good to you that one of your members may perish, and not your whole body be cast into Gehenna. (Geenna )

And do not be afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. (Geenna )
“Migavɔ̃ na ame siwo ate ŋu awu miaƒe ŋutilã, ke womate ŋu awu miaƒe gbɔgbɔ o la gbeɖe o! Mivɔ̃ Mawu ɖeka hɔ̃ɔ, ame si si ŋusẽ le be wòawu ŋutilã kple gbɔgbɔ la siaa le dzomavɔ me. (Geenna )
And you, Capernaum, which were exalted to Heaven, will be brought down to Hades, because if the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it had remained to this day; (Hadēs )
Eye mi Kapernaumtɔwo, ɖe woade bubu mia ŋuti le dziƒoa? Gbeɖe, woaɖo mi ɖe dzomavɔʋe la me, elabena ɖe wowɔ nukunu klitsu siwo wowɔ le mewò le Sodom la, ne womatsrɔ̃ dua o, ke boŋ anɔ anyi va se ɖe egbe. (Hadēs )
And whoever may speak a word against the Son of Man it will be forgiven to him, but whoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is coming. (aiōn )

And that sown toward the thorns, this is he who is hearing the word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceitfulness of the riches, chokes the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn )
