Judges 4
1 And the sons of Israel add to do evil in the eyes of YHWH when Ehud is dead,
Als aber Ehud gestorben war, taten die Kinder Israel wieder, was böse war vor dem HERRN.
2 and YHWH sells them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who has reigned in Hazor, and Sisera [is] the head of his host, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the nations;
Da verkaufte sie der HERR in die Hand Jabins, des Königs der Kanaaniter, der zu Hazor regierte; und sein Feldhauptmann war Sisera, welcher in Charoset-der Heiden wohnte.
3 and the sons of Israel cry to YHWH, for he has nine hundred chariots of iron, and he has oppressed the sons of Israel mightily [for] twenty years.
Da schrieen die Kinder Israel zum HERRN; denn er hatte neunhundert eiserne Wagen, und er zwang die Kinder Israel mit Gewalt zwanzig Jahre lang.
4 And Deborah, a woman, a prophetess, wife of Lapidoth, she is judging Israel at that time,
Debora, eine Prophetin, das Weib Lapidots, richtete Israel zu jener Zeit.
5 and she is dwelling under the palm-tree of Deborah, between Ramah and Beth-El, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel go up to her for judgment.
Und sie saß unter der Palme Debora zwischen Rama und Bethel, auf dem Gebirge Ephraim, und die Kinder Israel kamen zu ihr hinauf vor Gericht.
6 And she sends and calls for Barak son of Abinoam, out of Kedesh-Naphtali, and says to him, “Has YHWH, God of Israel, not commanded? Go, and you have drawn toward Mount Tabor, and have taken with you ten thousand men, out of the sons of Naphtali, and out of the sons of Zebulun,
Dieselbe sandte hin und ließ Barak rufen, den Sohn Abinoams, von Kedesch-Naphtali, und sprach zu ihm: Hat nicht der HERR, der Gott Israels, geboten: Gehe hin und ziehe auf den Berg Tabor; und nimm mit dir zehntausend Mann von den Kindern Naphtali und von den Kindern Sebulon!
7 and I have drawn to you, to the Brook of Kishon, Sisera, head of the host of Jabin, and his chariot, and his multitude, and have given him into your hand.”
Denn ich will Sisera, den Feldhauptmann Jabins, mit seinen Wagen und mit seinen Haufen zu dir an den Bach Kison ziehen lassen und ihn in deine Hand geben.
8 And Barak says to her, “If you go with me, then I have gone; and if you do not go with me, I do not go”;
Barak sprach zu ihr: wenn du mit mir gehst, so will ich gehen; gehst du aber nicht mit mir, so gehe ich nicht!
9 and she says, “I certainly go with you; only, surely your glory is not on the way which you are going, for YHWH sells Sisera into the hand of a woman”; and Deborah rises and goes with Barak to Kedesh.
Sie sprach: Ich will freilich mit dir gehen; aber der Ruhm des Weges, den du gehst, wird nicht dir zufallen; denn der HERR wird Sisera in die Hand eines Weibes übergeben. Also machte sich Debora auf und zog mit Barak gen Kedesch.
10 And Barak calls Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and he goes up—ten thousand men [are] at his feet—and Deborah goes up with him.
Da berief Barak Sebulon und Naphtali nach Kedesch und zog mit zehntausend Mann zu Fuß hinauf; Debora zog auch mit ihm hinauf.
11 And Heber the Kenite has been separated from the Kenite, from the sons of Hobab father-in-law of Moses, and he stretches out his tent to the oak in Zaanaim, which [is] by Kedesh.
Heber aber, der Keniter, hatte sich von den Kenitern, den Söhnen Hobabs, des Schwiegervaters Moses, getrennt und hatte seine Hütte bei dem Eichenwalde Zaanaim neben Kedesch aufgeschlagen.
12 And they declare to Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam has gone up to Mount Tabor,
Da ward dem Sisera angezeigt, daß Barak, der Sohn Abinoams, auf den Berg Tabor gezogen sei.
13 and Sisera calls all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who [are] with him, from Harosheth of the nations, to the Brook of Kishon.
Und Sisera berief alle seine Wagen, neunhundert eiserne Wagen und alles Volk, das mit ihm war, von Charoset-der Heiden an den Bach Kison.
14 And Deborah says to Barak, “Rise, for this [is] the day in which YHWH has given Sisera into your hand; has YHWH not gone out before you?” And Barak goes down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
Debora aber sprach zu Barak: Mache dich auf! Denn das ist der Tag, da der HERR den Sisera in deine Hand gegeben hat; ist nicht der HERR vor dir ausgezogen? Da stieg Barak vom Berge Tabor hinunter und die zehntausend Mann hinter ihm her.
15 And YHWH destroys Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, by the mouth of the sword, before Barak, and Sisera comes down from off the chariot, and flees on his feet.
Und der HERR brachte Sisera samt allen seinen Wagen und seinem ganzen Heer durch die Schärfe des Schwertes vor Barak in Verwirrung, so daß Sisera von seinem Wagen sprang und zu Fuß floh.
16 And Barak has pursued after the chariots and after the camp, to Harosheth of the nations, and all the camp of Sisera falls by the mouth of the sword—there has not been left even one.
Barak aber jagte den Wagen und dem Heere nach bis gen Charoset-der Heiden; und das ganze Heer Siseras fiel durch die Schärfe des Schwertes, daß nicht einer übrigblieb.
17 And Sisera has fled on his feet to the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite, for [there is] peace between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite;
Sisera aber floh zu Fuß zum Zelte Jaels, des Weibes Hebers, des Keniters; denn Jabin, der König von Hazor, und das Haus Hebers, des Keniters, hatten Frieden miteinander.
18 and Jael goes out to meet Sisera and says to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me, do not fear”; and he turns aside to her, into the tent, and she covers him with a mantle.
Jael aber ging heraus, dem Sisera entgegen, und sprach zu ihm: Kehre ein, mein Herr, kehre ein zu mir und fürchte dich nicht! Und er kehrte bei ihr ein ins Zelt, und sie deckte ihn mit einer Decke zu.
19 And he says to her, “Please give me a little water to drink, for I am thirsty”; and she opens the bottle of milk, and gives him to drink, and covers him.
Er aber sprach zu ihr: Gib mir doch ein wenig Wasser zu trinken; denn mich dürstet! Da öffnete sie den Milchschlauch und gab ihm zu trinken und deckte ihn [wieder] zu.
20 And he says to her, “Stand at the opening of the tent, and it has been, if any comes in, and has asked you and said, Is there a man here? That you have said, There is not.”
Und er sprach zu ihr: Stelle dich unter die Zelttür, und wenn jemand kommt und dich fragt und spricht: Ist jemand hier? so sage: Nein!
21 And Jael wife of Heber takes the pin of the tent, and takes the hammer in her hand, and goes to him gently, and strikes the pin into his temples, and it fastens in the earth—and he has been fast asleep, and is weary—and he dies.
Da nahm Jael, das Weib Hebers, einen Zeltpflock und einen Hammer zur Hand und ging leise zu ihm hinein und schlug ihm den Pflock durch die Schläfe, so daß er in die Erde drang. Er aber war vor Müdigkeit fest eingeschlafen; und er starb.
22 And behold, Barak is pursuing Sisera, and Jael comes out to meet him, and says to him, “Come, and I show you the man whom you are seeking”; and he comes to her, and behold, Sisera is fallen—dead, and the pin [is] in his temples.
Siehe, da kam Barak, der den Sisera verfolgte; Jael aber ging hinaus, ihm entgegen, und sprach zu ihm: Komm her, ich will dir den Mann zeigen, den du suchst! Und als er zu ihr hineinkam, lag Sisera tot da, und der Pflock steckte in seiner Schläfe.
23 And God humbles Jabin king of Canaan before the sons of Israel on that day,
Also demütigte Gott zu jener Zeit Jabin, den König der Kanaaniter, vor den Kindern Israel.
24 and the hand of the sons of Israel goes, going on and becoming hard on Jabin king of Canaan, until they have cut off Jabin king of Canaan.
Und die Hand der Kinder Israel lastete je länger je schwerer über Jabin, dem König der Kanaaniter, bis sie ihn ausrotteten.
