Judges 10

1 And there rises after Abimelech, to save Israel, Tola son of Puah, son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, and he is dwelling in Shamir, in the hill-country of Ephraim,

Nach Abimelech stand Tola, ein Sohn Puas, des Sohnes Dodos, ein Mann von Issaschar auf, um Israel zu helfen. Und er wohnte zu Samir auf dem Gebirge Ephraim.

2 and he judges Israel [for] twenty-three years, and he dies, and is buried in Shamir.

Und er richtete Israel dreiundzwanzig Jahre lang. Darnach starb er und ward begraben zu Samir.

3 And there rises Jair the Gileadite after him, and he judges Israel [for] twenty-two years,

Nach ihm stand Jair, ein Gileaditer, auf und richtete Israel zweiundzwanzig Jahre lang.

4 and he has thirty sons riding on thirty donkey-colts, and they have thirty cities (they call them Havoth-Jair to this day), which [are] in the land of Gilead;

Er hatte dreißig Söhne, auf dreißig Eselsfüllen reitend, und sie hatten dreißig Städte, die hießen Jairs-Dörfer bis auf diesen Tag und liegen im Lande Gilead.

5 and Jair dies, and is buried in Kamon.

Und Jair starb und ward begraben zu Kamon.

6 And the sons of Israel add to do evil in the eyes of YHWH, and serve the Ba‘alim, and Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Sidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, and forsake YHWH, and have not served Him;

Aber die Kinder Israel taten ferner, was vor dem HERRN böse war, und dienten den Baalen und Astarten und den Göttern der Syrer und den Göttern der Zidonier und den Göttern der Moabiter und den Göttern der Philister und verließen den HERRN und dienten ihm nicht.

7 and the anger of YHWH burns against Israel, and He sells them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the sons of Ammon,

Da ergrimmte der Zorn des HERRN über Israel, und er verkaufte sie unter die Hand der Philister und Ammoniter.

8 and they crush and oppress the sons of Israel in that year; [and for] eighteen years—all the sons of Israel [who] are beyond the Jordan, in the land of the Amorite, which [is] in Gilead.

Und sie zertraten und zerschlugen die Kinder Israel in jenem Jahr und hernach achtzehn Jahre lang, alle Kinder Israel jenseits des Jordan im Lande der Amoriter, in Gilead.

9 And the sons of Ammon pass over the Jordan to also fight against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, and Israel has great distress.

Dazu zogen die Kinder Ammon über den Jordan und stritten wider Juda und wider Benjamin und wider das Haus Ehpraim, so daß Israel sehr geängstigt war.

10 And the sons of Israel cry to YHWH, saying, “We have sinned against You, because we have even forsaken our God, and serve the Ba‘alim.”

Da schrieen die Kinder Israel zum HERRN und sprachen: Wir haben an dir gesündigt, denn wir haben unsern Gott verlassen und den Baalen gedient!

11 And YHWH says to the sons of Israel, “[Have I] not [saved you] from the Egyptians, and from the Amorite, from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

Aber der HERR sprach zu den Kindern Israel: Haben euch nicht auch die Ägypter, die Amoriter, die Kinder Ammon, die Philister, die Zidonier,

12 And the Zidonians, and Amalek, and Maon have oppressed you, and you cry to Me, and I save you out of their hand;

die Amalekiter und die Maoniter bezwungen? Und habe ich euch nicht aus ihren Händen errettet, als ihr zu mir schrieet?

13 and you have forsaken Me, and serve other gods, therefore I do not add to save you.

Dennoch habt ihr mich verlassen und andern Göttern gedient; darum will ich euch nicht mehr helfen!

14 Go and cry to the gods on which you have fixed; they save you in the time of your tribulation.”

Gehet hin und schreit zu den Göttern, die ihr erwählt habt; die sollen euch retten zur Zeit eurer Not!

15 And the sons of Israel say to YHWH, “We have sinned, do to us according to all that is good in Your eyes; only please deliver us this day.”

Aber die Kinder Israel sprachen zum HERRN: Wir haben gesündigt; tue du uns, was dir gefällt; nur errette uns noch zu dieser Zeit!

16 And they turn aside the gods of the stranger out of their midst, and serve YHWH, and His soul is grieved with the misery of Israel.

Und sie taten die fremden Götter von sich und dienten dem HERRN. Da ward er unwillig über Israels Ungemach.

17 And the sons of Ammon are called together, and encamp in Gilead, and the sons of Israel are gathered together, and encamp in Mizpah.

Und die Kinder Ammon wurden zusammengerufen und lagerten sich zu Mizpa.

18 And the people—heads of Gilead—say to one another, “Who [is] the man that begins to fight against the sons of Ammon? He is for head to all inhabitants of Gilead.”

Aber das Volk, die Obersten von Gilead, sprachen zueinander: Wer will den Kampf wider die Kinder Ammon beginnen? Der soll das Haupt sein über alle Einwohner von Gilead!
