< James 2 >
1 My brothers, do not hold the faith of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ in favor by appearance,
Nobakwesu, mutajatilili kulusyomo mu Mwami wesu Jesu Kkilisito, iMwami wabulemu, chakulanga ibbazu limwi kuli bamwi bantu.
2 for if there may come into your synagogue a man with gold ring, in radiant clothing, and there may also come in a poor man in vile clothing,
Atwambe kuti umwi muntu wanjila mumuswangano wako kazweete inwenwe zyangolide azizwato ziletombe.
3 and you may look on him bearing the radiant clothing, and may say to him, “You—sit here well,” and may say to the poor man, “You—stand there,” or, “Sit here under my footstool,”
Kuti walanga kumuntu uzwete zyakuzwata zibotu akwamba kuti, “Iwe kkala aawa abusena bubotu,” pesi kuli oyu muchete wasikuti, “Iwe kiminokiya,” nakuti, “Kkalaansi mpundilyatide,”
4 you did not judge fully in yourselves, and became ill-reasoning judges.
unoli toli kusalulana mukati kanu? Tewaba sikusalula amizezo mibi na?
5 Listen, my beloved brothers, did God not choose the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?
Amuswilizye nobakwesu bayandika, Leza takwakasala bachete munyika kuti babe bavubi mulusyomo na alimwi kuti bazokone Bwami oobo mbwakasyomezya kuli baabo bamuyanda?
6 But you dishonored the poor one. Do the rich not oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats?
Pesi temwabalemeka pe bachete! Tabensi bavubi na bamudyamizya? Alubo tensi mbabo na bamukwelela kunkuta?
7 Do they not themselves speak evil of the good Name having been called on you?
Tabali tukili na izina bbotu eelyo ndimwakayitwa andilyo?
8 If, indeed, you fulfill royal law, according to the Writing: “You will love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
Zyanchonzyo, kuti mwazuzikizya mulawo wa Mwami, wabubana kukalya mbuli mumalembe, “Muyoyandana ambimuyakilene aabo mbuli mbomuliyanda lwenu,” munoli muchita kabotu.
9 but if you favor by appearance, you work sin, being convicted by the Law as transgressors;
Pesi kuti kamusalula mbimuyanda kuchoitila kabotu, muli kuchita chibi, alimwi mulisungidwe amulawo mbuli basikuzungania.
10 for whoever will keep the whole Law, but will stumble in one [point], he has become guilty of all;
Nkambo kufumbwa muntu ulemeka mulawu, uzumina kuti udadalikila munzila yomwe biyo, ulayowa kutyola mulawu wonse.
11 for He who is saying, “You may not commit adultery,” also said, “You may not murder”; but if you will not commit adultery, but will commit murder, you have become a transgressor of law;
Nkambo ooyo wakati, “Utemuzyi chabumambi,” alimwi wakati, “utajayi.” kuti tewachita bumambi, pesi wajaya, unooli waba simutyola mulawu.
12 thus, speak and so act as [one] about to be judged by a law of liberty,
Nkinkaako ambula akuchita mbuli aabo batazosalwe alubeta lwanzila yamulawu walwangunuko.
13 for the judgment without mercy [is] to him having not done mercy, and mercy exults over judgment.
Nkambo lubeta luza kalutakwe nsoni kuli aabo batatondezyi insoni. Ilwetelelo lulalilumbayizya amulubeta.
14 What [is] the profit, my brothers, if anyone may speak of having faith, but he may not have works? Is that faith able to save him?
Nimpindunzi, nobakwesu, kuti umwi muntu wati ulijisi lusyomo, pesi katakwe milimo? Oolo lusyomo lulakonzya na kumuvuna?
15 And if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of daily food,
Anikuti umwi mukwesu wachaalumi kana muchizi wachanakazi katasamide zisamo zilikabotu alimwi wabula kulya kwazuba lyonse.
16 and anyone of you may say to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed, and be filled,” but may not give to them the things necessary for the body, what [is] the profit?
Twambe kuti umwi wenu wamba kuti, “Kamuya mulumuno, mukkale mukkasalilwe alimwi mukkute.” Kuti temwabapa zintu zyelede mubili, kuli mpindunzi?
17 So also faith, if it may not have works, is dead by itself.
Munzila yomwe njiyeyo ilusyomo alulikke, kuti kalutakwe milimo, lulifwide.
18 But someone may say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith out of works.
Pesi umwi ukonzya kwamba kuti, “Uli aalusyomo, alimwi imebo ndili amilimo.” Nditondezye lusyomo lwako kakutakwe milimo, alimwi ndilakutondezya lusyomo lwangu kwinda mumilimo yangu.
19 You believe that God is one; you do well! The demons also believe—and shudder!
Ulasyoma kuti kuli Leza omwe; ulikuchita kabotu. Pesi awalawo madimoni alazisyoma ezyo, aboobo alayoowa akuteketa.
20 And do you wish to know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?
Mulayanda na kuziba, nobaalumi bafubafuba, kuti lusyomo lutakwe milimo ndwabiyo? Amwi malembe aansiku aachi Giliki awamba kuti, Mulayanda na kuziba, nobalumi bafubafuba, kuti biyeni lusyomo lutakwe milimo lulifwide.
21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous out of works, having brought up his son Isaac on the altar?
Abbulahamu taata wesu takalulamikwa amilimo na awo nakaba mwana wakwe Ayizeki kuchipayilo?
22 Do you see that faith was working with his works, and faith was perfected out of the works?
Mwabona kuti lusyomo lwakabeleka amilimo yakwe, alimwi kuti kwinda kumilimo yakwe lusyomo lwakwe lwakamaninina.
23 And the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness”; and, “Friend of God” he was called.
Akazuzikizigwa malembe awamba kuti, “Abbulahamu wakali kusyoma Leza, alimwi zyakamwambya kuti uli abululami,” alimwi wakamba kuti mwenzinyina wa Leza.
24 You see, then, that man is considered righteous out of works, and not out of faith only;
Mwabona kuti muntu wambwidwa aamilimo yakwe, pepe alusyomo biyo.
25 and in like manner also Rahab the prostitute—was she not considered righteous out of works, having received the messengers, and having sent [them] forth by another way?
Munzila ikozyania alimwi, Lahabbu sibumambi tembwakalulamikwa na amilimo awo mpakatambula basikutumwa alimwi wakabalayila kuti bayinke ayimbi inzila?
26 For as the body apart from [the] spirit is dead, so also the faith apart from works is dead.
Nkambo mbuuli mubili kuti kawanzene amuuya ulifwide, mbombubo alwalo lusyomo kuti kalwanzene milimo lulifwide.
