2 Chronicles 1
1 And Solomon son of David strengthens himself over his kingdom, and his God YHWH [is] with him, and makes him exceedingly great.
Och Salomo, Davids son, vardt i sitt rike förstärkt, och Herren hans Gud var med honom, och gjorde honom ju större och större.
2 And Solomon says to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to the ones judging, and to every honorable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,
Och Salomo talade med hela Israel, med de öfverstar öfver tusend och hundrade, med domare och alla Förstar i Israel, med de öfversta fäder;
3 and they go—Solomon, and all the assembly with him—to the high place that [is] in Gibeon, for God’s Tent of Meeting has been there, that Moses, servant of YHWH, made in the wilderness,
Att de skulle gå, Salomo och hela menigheten med honom, bort till den höjden, som i Gibeon var; ty der var Guds vittnesbörds tabernakel, som Mose Herrans tjenare gjort hade i öknene.
4 but David had the Ark of God brought up from Kirjath-Jearim to the [place] David had prepared for it, for he stretched out a tent for it in Jerusalem;
Ty Guds ark hade David uppfört ifrå KiriathJearim, dit han för honom tillredt hade; förty han hade honom uppslagit ett tabernakel i Jerusalem.
5 and the altar of bronze that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the Dwelling Place of YHWH; and Solomon and the assembly seek Him [there].
Men det kopparaltaret som Bezaleel, Uri son, Hurs sons, gjort hade, var der för Herrans tabernakel; och Salomo och menigheten plägade söka det.
6 And Solomon goes up there, on the altar of bronze, before YHWH, that [is] at the Tent of Meeting, and causes one thousand burnt-offerings to ascend on it.
Och Salomo offrade för Herranom på kopparaltaret, som der för dörrene af vittnesbördsens tabernakel stod, tusende bränneoffer.
7 In that night God has appeared to Solomon and says to him, “Ask—what do I give to you?”
I samma nattene syntes Gud Salomo, och sade till honom: Bed, hvad skall jag gifva dig?
8 And Solomon says to God, “You have done great kindness with my father David, and have caused me to reign in his stead.
Och Salomo sade till Gud: Du hafver gjort stora barmhertighet med minom fader David, och hafver gjort mig till Konung i hans stad.
9 Now, O YHWH God, Your word with my father David is steadfast, for You have caused me to reign over a people [as] numerous as the dust of the earth;
Så låt nu, Herre Gud, din ord varda sann till min fader David; ty du hafver gjort mig till Konung öfver ett folk, det så mycket är som stoftet på jordene.
10 now, give wisdom and knowledge to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who judges this—Your great people?”
Så gif mig nu vishet och förstånd, att jag för detta folket må gå ut och in; ty ho förmår döma detta ditt myckna folk?
11 And God says to Solomon, “Because that this has been with your heart, and you have not asked for riches, wealth, and honor, and the life of those hating you, and also have not asked for many days, and ask for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you judge My people over which I have caused you to reign—
Då sade Gud till Salomo: Efter du hafver detta i sinnet, och hafver icke bedit om rikedomar, eller ägodelar, eller om härlighet, eller om dina fiendars själar, eller om långt lif; utan hafver bedit om visdom och förstånd, att du må döma mitt folk, der jag dig en Konung öfver gjort hafver;
12 the wisdom and the knowledge is given to you, and riches and wealth and honor I [also] give to you, that there has not been so to the kings who [are] before you, and after you it is not so.”
Så vare dig visdom och förstånd gifvet; dertill vill jag ock gifva dig rikedomar, ägodelar och härlighet, så att din like ibland Konungarna för dig icke varit hafver, ej heller varda skall efter dig.
13 And Solomon comes in to Jerusalem [from] the high place that [is] in Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, and reigns over Israel,
Alltså kom Salomo ifrå höjdene, som i Gibeon var, till Jerusalem, ifrå vittnesbördsens tabernakel, och regerade öfver Israel.
14 and Solomon gathers chariots and horsemen, and he has one thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he places them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.
Och Salomo församlade sig vagnar och resenärar, så att han åstadkom tusende och fyrahundrade vagnar, och tolftusend resenärar, och lät dem uti vagnsstäderna, och när Konungenom i Jerusalem.
15 And the king makes the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance.
Och Konungen gjorde, att silfver och guld var i Jerusalem så mycket som stenar; och cedreträ så mycket som mulbärsträ i dalarna.
16 And the source of the horses that [are] for Solomon [is] from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king take [them] from Keva at a price,
Och man förde Salomo hästar utur Egypten, och allahanda varor. Och Konungens köpmän köpte samma varor;
17 and they come up, and bring out a chariot from Egypt for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred and fifty, and so for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram—they bring [them] out by their hand.
Och förde dem utur Egypten, hvar vagn för sexhundrad silfpenningar, och hvar häst för hundrade och femtio; alltså förde man dem ock till alla de Hetheers Konungar, och till de Konungar i Syrien, genom deras hand.
