1 Corinthians 9
1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the LORD?
我は自主の者ならずや、使徒にあらずや、我らの主イエスを見しにあらずや、汝らは主に在りて我が業ならずや。
2 If I am not an apostle to others—yet doubtless I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the LORD.
われ他の人には使徒ならずとも汝らには使徒なり。汝らは主にありて我が使徒たる職の印なればなり。
3 My defense to those who examine me in this:
われを審く者に對する我が辯明は斯くのごとし。
4 do we not have authority to eat and to drink?
我らは飮食する權なきか。
5 Do we not have authority to lead about a sister—a wife—as also the other apostles, and the brothers of the LORD, and Cephas?
我らは他の使徒たち主の兄弟たち及びケパのごとく、姉妹たる妻を携ふる權なきか。
6 Or do only Barnabas and I have no authority not to work?
ただ我とバルナバとのみ工を止むる權なきか。
7 Who serves as a soldier at his own expense at any time? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock and does not eat of the milk of the flock?
誰か己の財にて兵卒を務むる者あらんや。誰か葡萄畑を作りてその果を食はぬ者あらんや。誰か群を牧ひてその乳を飮まぬ者あらんや。
8 Do I speak these things according to man? Or does the Law not also say these things?
我ただ人の思にのみ由りて此 等のことを言はんや、律法も亦かく言ふにあらずや。
9 For in the Law of Moses it has been written: “you will not muzzle an ox treading out grain”; does God care for the oxen?
モーセの律法に『穀物を碾す牛には口籠を繋くべからず』と録したり。神は牛のために慮ぱかり給へるか、
10 Or by all means does He say [it] because of us? Yes, because of us it was written, because in hope ought the plower to plow, and he who is treading [ought] of his hope to partake in hope.
また專ら我等のために之を言ひ給ひしか、然り、我らのために録されたり。それ耕す者は望をもて耕し、穀物をこなす者は之に與る望をもて碾すべきなり。
11 If we sowed to you the spiritual things—[is it] great if we reap your fleshly things?
もし我ら靈の物を汝らに蒔きしならば、汝らの肉の物を刈り取るは過分ならんや。
12 If others partake of the authority over you—[do] we not more? But we did not use this authority, but we bear all things, that we may give no hindrance to the good news of the Christ.
もし他の人なんぢらに對してこの權あらんには、まして我らをや。然れど我等はこの權を用ひざりき。唯キリストの福音に障碍なきやうに一切のことを忍ぶなり。
13 Have you not known that those working about the things of the temple eat of the temple, and those waiting at the altar are partakers with the altar?
なんぢら知らぬか、聖なる事を務むる者は宮のものを食し、祭壇に事ふる者は祭壇のものに與るを。
14 So also the LORD directed to those proclaiming the good news to live of the good news.
斯くのごとく主もまた福音を宣傳ふる者の福音によりて生活すべきことを定め給へり。
15 And I have used none of these things; neither did I write these things that it may be so done in my case, for [it is] good for me rather to die, than that anyone may make my glorying void;
されど我は此 等のことを一つだに用ひし事なし、また自ら斯くせられんために之を書き贈るにあらず、斯くせられんよりは寧ろ死ぬるを善しとすればなり。誰もわが誇を空しくせざるべし。
16 for if I may proclaim good news, it is no glorying for me, for necessity is laid on me, and woe is to me if I may not proclaim good news;
われ福音を宣傳ふとも誇るべき所なし、已むを得ざるなり。もし福音を宣傳へずば、我は禍害なるかな。
17 for if I do this willingly, I have a reward; and if unwillingly—I have been entrusted with a stewardship!
若しわれ心より之をなさば報を得ん、たとひ心ならずとも我はその務を委ねられたり。
18 What, then, is my reward? That proclaiming good news, without charge I will make the good news of the Christ, not to abuse my authority in the good news;
然らば我が報は何ぞ、福音を宣傳ふるに、人をして費なく福音を得しめ、而も福音によりて我が有てる權を用ひ盡さぬこと是なり。
19 for being free from all men, I made myself servant to all men, that the more I might gain;
われ凡ての人に對して自主の者なれど、更に多くの人を得んために、自ら凡ての人の奴隷となれり。
20 and to the Jews I became like a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those under law as under law, that I might gain those under law;
我ユダヤ人にはユダヤ人の如くなれり、これユダヤ人を得んが爲なり。律法の下にある者には――律法の下に我はあらねど――律法の下にある者の如くなれり。これ律法の下にある者を得んが爲なり。
21 to those without law, as without law—(not being without law to God, but within law to Christ)—that I might gain those without law;
律法なき者には――われ神に向ひて律法なきにあらず、反つてキリストの律法の下にあれど――律法なき者の如くなれり、これ律法なき者を得んがためなり。
22 to the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak; to all men I have become all things, that by all means I may save some.
弱き者には弱き者となれり、これ弱き者を得んためなり。我すべての人には凡ての人の状に從へり、これ如何にもして幾許かの人を救はんためなり。
23 And I do this because of the good news, that I may become a fellow-partaker of it;
われ福音のために凡ての事をなす、これ我も共に福音に與らん爲なり。
24 have you not known that those running in a race—all indeed run, but one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain;
なんぢら知らぬか、馳場を走る者はみな走れども、褒美を得る者の、ただ一人なるを。汝らも得んために斯く走れ。
25 and everyone who is striving is temperate in all things; these, indeed, then, that they may receive a corruptible garland, but we an incorruptible;
すべて勝を爭ふ者は何事をも節し愼む、彼らは朽つる冠冕を得んが爲なれど、我らは朽ちぬ冠冕を得んがために之をなすなり。
26 I, therefore, thus run, not as uncertainly, thus I fight, as not beating air;
斯く我が走るは目標なきが如きにあらず、我が拳鬪するは空を撃つが如きにあらず。
27 but I bruise my body, and bring [it] into servitude, lest by any means, having preached to others—I myself may become disapproved.
わが體を打ち擲きて之を服從せしむ。恐らくは他人に宣傳へて自ら棄てらるる事あらん。
