Psalms 31

1 “To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; Oh that I may never be put to shame: through thy righteousness do thou release me.

برای رهبر سرایندگان. مزمور داوود. ای خداوند، به تو پناه آورده‌ام، نگذار هرگز سرافکنده شوم. تو عادلی، پس مرا نجات ده.

2 Bend unto me thy ear; speedily deliver me: be thou unto me as a rock of protection, as a mountain strong-hold to save me.

به دعای من گوش ده و هر چه زودتر مرا نجات ببخش. پناهگاهی مطمئن و خانه‌ای حصاردار برای من باش و مرا برهان.

3 For my rock and my stronghold art thou; and for the sake of thy name lead me, and guide me.

تو پناهگاه و سنگر من هستی؛ به خاطر نام خود مرا رهبری و هدایت فرما.

4 Draw me out of the net which they have laid secretly for me; for thou art my protection.

مرا از دامی که برایم نهاده‌اند حفظ نما و از خطر برهان.

5 Into thy hand do I commit my spirit: thou redeemest me, O Lord, the God of truth.

روح خود را به دست تو می‌سپارم؛ ای یهوه خدای امین، تو بهای آزادی مرا پرداخته‌ای.

6 I hate those that depend on lying vanities; but I trust indeed in the Lord.

از آنانی که به بت اعتماد می‌کنند، متنفرم؛ من بر تو، ای خداوند، توکل کرده‌ام.

7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy kindness; because thou hast seen my misery; thou hast taken cognizance of the distresses of my soul;

محبت تو مایۀ شادی و سرور من است، زیرا به مصیبت من توجه نمودی و از مشکلات من آگاه شدی.

8 And thou hast not surrendered me into the hand of the enemy: thou hast caused my feet to stand on an ample space.

مرا به دست دشمن نسپردی، بلکه راه نجات پیش پایم نهادی.

9 Be gracious unto me, O Lord, for I am in distress; my eye is consumed through vexation—my soul [too] and my body.

خداوندا، بر من رحم کن، زیرا در تنگنا و سختی هستم. چشمانم از شدت گریه تار شده است. دیگر تاب و تحمل ندارم.

10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing, my strength faileth because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

عمرم با آه و ناله به سر می‌رود. بر اثر گناه، قوتم را از دست داده‌ام و استخوانهایم می‌پوسند.

11 Because of all my assailants am I become a reproach, and unto my neighbors greatly so, and a terror to my acquaintance, those that see me abroad flee away from me.

نزد همهٔ دشمنان سرافکنده و رسوا شده‌ام و پیش همسایگان نمی‌توانم سرم را بلند کنم. آشنایان از من می‌ترسند؛ هر که مرا در کوچه و بازار می‌بیند، می‌گریزد.

12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of the heart: I am become like a perishable vessel.

همچون مرده‌ای هستم که به دست فراموشی سپرده شده است؛ مانند ظرفی هستم که به دور انداخته باشند.

13 For I have heard the slandering of many; terror was on every side, while they took counsel together against me: to take away my life did they purpose.

شنیده‌ام که بسیاری از من بدگویی می‌کنند. وحشت مرا احاطه کرده است، زیرا آنان نقشهٔ قتل مرا می‌کشند و بر ضد من برخاسته‌اند و قصد جانم را دارند.

14 But I trusted well in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.

اما من بر تو، ای خداوند، توکل کرده‌ام و می‌گویم که خدای من تو هستی.

15 In thy hand are my destinies: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from my persecutors.

زندگی من در دست تو است؛ مرا از دست دشمنان و آزاردهندگانم برهان.

16 Let thy face shine upon thy servant: save me through thy kindness.

نظر لطف بر بنده‌ات بیفکن و در محبت خود مرا نجات ده.

17 O Lord, let me not be put to shame; for I have called on thee: let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent, [passing] to the nether world. (Sheol h7585)

ای خداوند، به تو متوسل شده‌ام، نگذار سرافکنده شوم. بگذار شریران شرمنده شوند و خاموش به قبرهایشان فرو روند. (Sheol h7585)

18 Let the lying lips be made dumb, which speak hard things against the righteous, with pride and contempt.

بگذار زبان دروغگو که بر ضد عادلان سخن می‌گوید لال شود.

19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast treasured up for those that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for those that trust in thee before the sons of men!

خداوندا، چه عظیم است نیکویی تو که برای ترسندگانت ذخیره کرده‌ای! تو آن را در حق کسانی که به تو پناه می‌برند، در برابر مردم بجا می‌آوری.

20 Thou wilt conceal them in the secret of thy presence from the conspiracy of men: thou wilt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

دوستدارانت را از دام توطئه و زخم زبان در امان می‌داری و آنها را در سایهٔ حضورت پناه می‌دهی.

21 Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shown me his kindness wonderfully in a beleaguered city.

خداوند را سپاس باد! زیرا زمانی که من در محاصره بودم، او محبتش را به طرز شگفت‌انگیزی به من نشان داد!

22 And yet had I said in my despondency, I am cut off from before thy eyes: nevertheless thou didst hear the voice of my supplications when I cried loudly unto thee.

من ترسیده بودم و فکر می‌کردم که دیگر از نظر خداوند افتاده‌ام؛ اما وقتی نزد او فریاد برآوردم، او دعای مرا شنید و مرا اجابت فرمود.

23 Oh love the Lord, all ye his pious ones: the Lord preserveth the faithful, and recompenses the presumption of him that acteth proudly.

ای قوم خداوند، او را دوست بدارید! خداوند افراد امین و وفادار را حفظ می‌کند، اما متکبران را به سزای اعمالشان می‌رساند.

24 Be strong, and let your heart be of good courage, all ye that hope in the Lord.

ای همهٔ کسانی که به خداوند امید بسته‌اید، شجاع و قوی دل باشید!
