< Psalms 114 >
1 When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language:
Kwathi ekuphumeni kuka-Israyeli eGibhithe, indlu kaJakhobe isuka ebantwini bolimi lwezizweni,
2 Judah became his sanctuary, [and] Israel his dominion.
uJuda waba yindlu engcwele kaNkulunkulu, u-Israyeli waba ngumbuso wakhe.
3 The sea beheld it, and fled: the Jordan was driven backward.
Ulwandle lwakubona lwabaleka, iJodani yabuyela emuva.
4 The mountains skipped like wethers, the hills like lambs.
Izintaba zaqothuka njengenqama, amaqaqa enza njengamawundlu.
5 What aileth thee, O sea, that thou fleest? thou, O Jordan, that thou art driven backward?
Kwakungani, we lwandle, wasuka wabaleka? Wena Jodani wabuyela emuva?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skip like wethers? ye hills, like lambs?
Lani zintaba laqolotsha njengenqama, lina maqaqa njengamawundlu?
7 At the presence of the Lord tremble, O earth, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
Thuthumela, we mhlaba, phambi kukaThixo, phambi kukaNkulunkulu kaJakhobe,
8 Who changeth the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.
owaphendula idwala laba lichibi, idwala eliqinileyo laba ngumthombo wamanzi.
