< Proverbs 12 >
1 Whoso loveth correction loveth knowledge; but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 The good obtaineth favor of the Lord; but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
LEUM GOD El insewowo sin mwet wo, a El lusla mwet su nunkauk in oru ma koluk.
3 A man cannot be firmly established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous will not be moved.
Wangin moul okak yurin mwet orekma koluk, a mwet suwoswos elos tu na ku.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but as rottenness in his bones is one that bringeth shame [on him].
Sie mutan payuk efal el mwe engan ac mwe konkin lun mukul tumal; a mutan payuk se su akmwekinye mukul tumal uh, el mwe akkulamye srin mukul tumal.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are justice: the best counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Mwet suwohs uh ac oru ma suwohs ac fal nu sum; mwet koluk elos kena kiapwekom.
6 The words of the wicked are of lying in wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright will deliver them.
Kas lun mwet koluk uh mwe akmas, a kas lun mwet suwoswos mwe molela nu selos su muta in fosrnga.
7 The wicked are suddenly overthrown, and are no more; but the house of the righteous will endure.
Mwet koluk uh fin kutangyukla, na elos ac wanginla, a sou lun mwet suwoswos ac tutaflana.
8 In accordance with his intelligence is a man praised; but he that is perverse of heart will come to be despised.
Kom fin lalmwetmet, ac kaksakinyuk kom. Kom fin lalfon, mwet uh ac pilesrekom.
9 Better is he that is lightly esteemed who hath a servant, than he that aimeth after honor, and lacketh bread.
Ac wo kom in sie mwet pilesreyuk su sifacna orekma in suk enenu lom, liki na in orek lumah mu kom sie mwet fulat, a wangin mwe mongo nom.
10 A righteous man careth for the life of his beast; but the mercies of the wicked are cruelty.
Sie mwet wo el karingin kosro natul, a mwet koluk uh sulallal nu sin kosro natulos.
11 He that tilleth his ground will be satisfied with bread; but he that runneth after idle persons is void of sense.
Mwet moniyuk in orek ima, pukanten mwe mongo yorol, a elos su sisla pacl lalos ke orekma lusrongten elos lalfon.
12 The wicked is covetous for the net of evil men; but [God] giveth root to the righteous.
13 In the transgression of his lips is the snare of the wicked; but the righteous cometh out of distress.
Sie mwet koluk el sremla ke kas lal sifacna, a sie mwet suwoswos el fah tia sun mwe ongoiya.
14 From the fruit of his mouth will a man be satisfied with what is good; and the recompense of a man's hands will be brought back unto him.
Ma lacne nu sum ac fah fal nu ke kas lom ac orekma lom. Kom ac fah eis fal nu ke ma kom orala.
15 The way of a fool is straight in his own eyes; but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Mwet lalfon uh nunku mu pwaye selos in ma nukewa, a mwet lalmwetmet uh engan in porongo kas in kasru.
16 The wrath of the fool is known on the very day; but he that concealeth the disgrace is prudent.
Sie mwet lalfon el sa na in foloyak, a mwet etu uh ku in pilesru kas in akkoluk orek nu sel.
17 He that uttereth truth announceth righteousness; but a false witness, deceit.
Ke pacl kom fahkak ma pwaye, na nununku uh orekla suwohs, a kas kikiap uh oru nununku uh in sesuwos.
18 There is some one that useth words [which are] like the thrusts of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is healing.
Kas fakfuk uh ku in kanteya sie mwet oana cutlass, a kas lalmwetmet uh ku in unwela.
19 The lip of truth will stand firm for ever; but only for a moment the tongue of falsehood.
20 Deceit is in the heart of those that contrive evil; but for the counsellors of peace there is joy.
Kutasrik uh nwakla insien mwet ma akoo in oru ma koluk, a elos su suk in oru ma wo elos ac sun engan.
21 No wrong can come unawares to the righteous; but the wicked are full of evil.
22 An abomination of the Lord are lips of falsehood; but they that deal in faithfulness [obtain] his favor.
LEUM GOD El srunga mwet kikiap, a El insewowo kaclos su akfalye kas lalos.
23 A prudent man concealeth [his] knowledge; but the heart of fools proclaimeth [their] folly.
Sie mwet etu nunak el mislana ke etu lal, a mwet lalfon uh arulana fahkak nikin lalos.
24 The hand of the diligent will bear rule; but the indolent must become tributary.
Sie mwet alken in orekma el ac sie mwet kol; sie mwet alsrangesr el ac sie mwet kohs.
25 If there be care in the heart of man, let him suppress it; and a good word will change it into joy.
Inse fosrnga ac aksupwarye kom; kas kulang ac akenganye kom.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor; but the way of the wicked leadeth them astray.
27 The indolent roasteth not that which he hath caught in hunting; but the most precious wealth of man is diligence.
Kom fin alsrangesr, kom ac tia ku in konauk enenu lom, a kom fin alken, kom ac eis ma wo puspis.
28 On the path of righteousness there is life; and on her pathway there is immortality,
Suwoswos el inkanek nu ke moul; a sesuwos uh inkanek nu ke misa.
