< Jonah 2 >

1 Then prayed Jonah unto the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
Nígbà náà ni Jona gbàdúrà sí Olúwa Ọlọ́run rẹ̀ láti inú ẹja náà wá,
2 And he said, I called from the midst of my distress unto the Lord, and he hath answered me: out of the depth of the grave have I cried, and thou hast heard my voice. (Sheol h7585)
Ó sì wí pé: “Nínú ìpọ́njú mi ni mo kígbe sí Olúwa, òun sì gbọ́ ohùn mi. Mo kígbe láti inú ipò òkú, mo pè fún ìrànwọ́, ìwọ sì gbọ́ ohùn mi. (Sheol h7585)
3 For thou hast cast me into the deep, in the heart of the seas; and the stream compasseth me about: all thy billows and thy waves have passed over me.
Nítorí tí ìwọ ti sọ mí sínú ibú, ní àárín Òkun, ìṣàn omi sì yí mi káàkiri; gbogbo bíbì omi àti rírú omi rékọjá lórí mi.
4 And I thought indeed, I am driven out from before thy eyes: yet I again shall look toward thy holy temple.
Nígbà náà ni mo wí pé, ‘A ta mí nù kúrò níwájú rẹ; ṣùgbọ́n síbẹ̀ èmi yóò tún máa wo ìhà tẹmpili mímọ́ rẹ.’
5 The waters surrounded me, to the peril of my life; the deep compassed me about: sea-weeds were bound about my head.
Omi yí mi káàkiri, àní títí dé ọkàn; ibú yí mi káàkiri, a fi koríko odò wé mi lórí.
6 To the bottoms of the mountains did I go down; the earth [closed] her bars about me for ever: when thou broughtest up my life from the pit, O Lord my God!
Èmi sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí ìsàlẹ̀ àwọn òkè ńlá; ilẹ̀ ayé pẹ̀lú ìdènà rẹ̀ yí mi ká títí: ṣùgbọ́n ìwọ ti mú ẹ̀mí mi wá sókè láti inú ibú wá, Olúwa Ọlọ́run mi.
7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came unto thee, unto thy holy temple.
“Nígbà tí ó rẹ ọkàn mi nínú mi, èmi rántí rẹ, Olúwa, àdúrà mi sì wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ, nínú tẹmpili mímọ́ rẹ.
8 They that guard false vanities forsake [the source of] their kindness.
“Àwọn tí ń fàmọ́ òrìṣà èké kọ àánú ara wọn sílẹ̀.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; that which I have vowed will I pay; [for] help is with the Lord.
Ṣùgbọ́n èmi yóò fi orin ọpẹ́, rú ẹbọ sí ọ. Èmi yóò san ẹ̀jẹ́ tí mo ti jẹ́. ‘Ìgbàlà wá láti ọ̀dọ̀ Olúwa.’”
10 And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Olúwa sì pàṣẹ fún ẹja náà, ó sì pọ Jona sí orí ilẹ̀ gbígbẹ.
