Proverbs 24
1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
೧ಕೆಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡಬೇಡ, ಅವರ ಸಹವಾಸವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಬೇಡ.
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.
೨ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು, ಅವರ ತುಟಿಯು ಹಾನಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು.
3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
೩ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಸಾಧನ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿವೇಕವೇ ಆಧಾರ,
4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
೪ಅದರ ಕೋಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ, ಇಷ್ಟ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯೇ ಉಪಕರಣ.
5 A wise man [is] strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
೫ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗೆ ತ್ರಾಣ, ಬಲ್ಲವನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಬಲ.
6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
೬ಮಂತ್ರಾಲೋಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸು, ಬಹು ಸುಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಿರುವುದು.
7 Wisdom [is] too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
೭ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ನಿಲುಕದು, ಅವನು ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಯಿಬಿಡಲಾರನು.
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
೮ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
9 The thought of foolishness [is] sin: and the scorner [is] an abomination to men.
೯ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವು ಪಾಪವೇ, ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.
10 [If] thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength [is] small.
೧೦ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಬಳಲಿಹೋದರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲವೂ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟೇ.
11 If thou forbear to deliver [them that are] drawn unto death, and [those that are] ready to be slain;
೧೧ಕೊಲೆಗೆ ಸೆಳೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಸಂಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದವರನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸು.
12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider [it]? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth [not] he know [it]? and shall [not] he render to [every] man according to his works?
೧೨“ಇದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ನೀನು ನೆವ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಹೃದಯಶೋಧಕನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವಾತನು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನ ಕರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಾನೇ?
13 My son, eat thou honey, because [it is] good; and the honeycomb, [which is] sweet to thy taste:
೧೩ಕಂದಾ, ಜೇನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆಯಲ್ಲವೆ, ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪವು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಿಹಿಯಷ್ಟೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನು.
14 So [shall] the knowledge of wisdom [be] unto thy soul: when thou hast found [it], then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
೧೪ಜ್ಞಾನವು ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇರುವುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಫಲಕಾಲ ಬರುವುದು, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಗದು.
15 Lay not wait, O wicked [man], against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
೧೫ದುಷ್ಟನೇ, ಶಿಷ್ಟನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಬೇಡ, ಅವನ ನಿವಾಸವನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
16 For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
೧೬ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಏಳುವನು, ದುಷ್ಟನು ಕೇಡಿನಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದೇಹೋಗುವನು.
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
೧೭ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರು ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಹಿಗ್ಗಬೇಡ, ಎಡವಿದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಹರ್ಷಿಸದಿರಲಿ.
18 Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
೧೮ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸಾನು.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the wicked;
೧೯ಕೆಡುಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಗೊಳ್ಳದಿರು, ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡದಿರು.
20 For there shall be no reward to the evil [man; ] the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
೨೦ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಿಗೆ ಶುಭಕಾಲವು ಬಾರದು, ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಯೇ ಹೋಗುವುದು.
21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:
೨೧ಮಗನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜನಿಗೂ ಭಯಪಡು, ತಿರುಗಿಬೀಳುವವರ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ.
22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
೨೨ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರು ವಿಧಿಸುವ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಅವರಿಂದಾಗುವ ನಾಶವು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದೀತು?
23 These [things] also [belong] to the wise. [It is] not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
೨೩ಇವು ಕೂಡ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಮಾತುಗಳು: ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಧರ್ಮವಲ್ಲ.
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou [art] righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
೨೪ಯಾವನು ಅಧರ್ಮಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಜನರು ಶಪಿಸುವರು, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ದೂಷಿಸುವರು.
25 But to them that rebuke [him] shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.
೨೫ದುಷ್ಟನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವವರಿಗಾದರೋ ಶುಭವಾಗುವುದು, ಸುಖಕರವಾದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವೂ ಲಭಿಸುವುದು.
26 [Every man] shall kiss [his] lips that giveth a right answer.
೨೬ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾದ ಉತ್ತರವು, ತುಟಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದು.
27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.
೨೭ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡು, ನಂತರ ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸು, ಆಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟು.
28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive [not] with thy lips.
೨೮ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ, ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.
೨೯“ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಾನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸುವೆನು” ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.
30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
೩೦ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಹೊಲದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ತೋಟದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹಾದು ಹೋದೆನು.
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, [and] nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
೩೧ಆಹಾ, ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಿಡಗಳು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು, ಕಳೆಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದವು, ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯು ಹಾಳಾಗಿತ್ತು.
32 Then I saw, [and] considered [it] well: I looked upon [it, and] received instruction.
೩೨ಆಗ ನಾನು ನೋಡಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದೆನು, ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತನಾದೆನು.
33 [Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
೩೩ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನಿದ್ದೆ, ಇನ್ನು ತುಸ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಚ ನಿದ್ದೆಗಾಗಿ ಕೈಮುದುರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಯಾ?
34 So shall thy poverty come [as] one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
೩೪ಬಡತನವು ದಾರಿಗಳ್ಳನ ಹಾಗೂ, ಕೊರತೆಯು ಪಂಜುಗಳ್ಳನಂತೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವವು.
