1 Corinthians 4
1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
Que as pessoas nos considerem como servidores de Cristo, e guardiões dos mistérios de Deus.
2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Além disso, exige-se dos guardiões que cada um seja fiel.
3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
Quanto a mim, pouco me importa ser julgado por vós, ou por qualquer juízo humano; nem eu julgo a mim mesmo.
4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
Porque em nada me sinto culpável; mas nem por isso estou justificado; porém quem me julga é o Senhor.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Então nada julgueis antes do tempo, até que o Senhor venha, o qual também trará à luz as coisas ocultas nas trevas, e manifestará as intenções dos corações; e então cada um receberá de Deus a aprovação.
6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
E isto, irmãos, fiz a comparação relativa a mim e a Apolo por causa de vós; para que em nós aprendais a não fazer suposições além do que está escrito; para que não fiqueis arrogantes por preferir um contra o outro.
7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
Pois quem te faz diferentemente superior? E o que tens tu, que não tenhas recebido? E se o recebeste, por que te orgulhas, como se não o tivesse recebido?
8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
Vós já estais satisfeitos, já estais ricos, e reinastes sem nós; e bom seria se vós reinásseis, para que também nós reinássemos convosco.
9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
Pois acho que Deus colocou a nós, os apóstolos, por último, como sentenciados à morte; pois somos como espetáculo ao mundo, tanto aos anjos como aos seres humanos.
10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
Nós [somos] loucos por causa de Cristo, mas vós sábios em Cristo; nós fracos, mas vós fortes; vós ilustres, mas nós desonrados.
11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
Até esta presente hora sofremos fome e sede, e estamos nus, e somos golpeados, e não temos morada certa.
12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
E ficamos exaustos, trabalhando com as nossas próprias mãos; somos insultados, e bendizemos; somos perseguidos, e nós suportamos.
13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
Somos blasfemados, e respondemos humildemente; somos feitos como a escória do mundo, e como o lixo de todos, até agora.
14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
Não escrevo estas coisas para vos envergonhar; mas sim, para [vos] advertir como a meus amados filhos.
15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
Porque ainda que tivésseis dez mil tutores em Cristo, contudo não [tendes] muitos pais. Porque eu vos gerei em Cristo Jesus por meio do Evangelho.
16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
Portanto eu vos chamo para que sejais meus imitadores.
17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every Assembly.
Por isso eu vos enviei Timóteo, que é meu filho amado e fiel no Senhor; ele vos lembrará dos meus caminhos em Cristo, como por todos os lugares eu ensino em cada igreja.
18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
Mas alguns andam arrogantes, como se eu não fosse até vós.
19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
Porém logo irei vos visitar, se o Senhor quiser; e [então] conhecerei, não as palavras dos que andam arrogantes, mas sim o poder [deles].
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
Porque o Reino de Deus não [consiste] de palavras, mas sim de poder.
21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
Que quereis? Que eu venha até vós com a vara [da disciplina], ou com amor e espírito de mansidão?
