Psalms 79
1 A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into Thine inheritance; they have defiled Thy holy temple; they have made Jerusalem into heaps.
Mazmur Asaf. Ya Allah, bangsa-bangsa lain telah masuk ke dalam tanah milik-Mu, menajiskan bait kudus-Mu, membuat Yerusalem menjadi timbunan puing.
2 They have given the dead bodies of Thy servants to be food unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of Thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
Mereka memberikan mayat hamba-hamba-Mu sebagai makanan kepada burung-burung di udara, daging orang-orang yang Kaukasihi kepada binatang-binatang liar di bumi.
3 They have shed their blood like water round about Jerusalem, with none to bury them.
Mereka menumpahkan darah orang-orang itu seperti air sekeliling Yerusalem, dan tidak ada yang menguburkan.
4 We are become a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
Kami menjadi cela bagi tetangga-tetangga kami, menjadi olok-olok dan cemooh bagi orang-orang sekeliling kami.
5 How long, O LORD, wilt Thou be angry for ever? How long will Thy jealousy burn like fire?
Berapa lama lagi, ya TUHAN, Engkau murka terus-menerus, dan cemburu-Mu berkobar-kobar seperti api?
6 Pour out Thy wrath upon the nations that know Thee not, and upon the kingdoms that call not upon Thy name.
Tumpahkanlah amarah-Mu ke atas bangsa-bangsa yang tidak mengenal Engkau, ke atas kerajaan-kerajaan yang tidak menyerukan nama-Mu;
7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his habitation.
sebab mereka telah memakan habis Yakub, dan tempat kediamannya mereka hancurkan.
8 Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers; let Thy compassions speedily come to meet us; for we are brought very low.
Janganlah perhitungkan kepada kami kesalahan nenek moyang kami; kiranya rahmat-Mu segera menyongsong kami, sebab sudah sangat lemah kami.
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the sake of the glory of Thy name; and deliver us, and forgive our sins, for Thy name's sake.
Tolonglah kami, ya Allah penyelamat kami, demi kemuliaan nama-Mu! Lepaskanlah kami dan ampunilah dosa kami oleh karena nama-Mu!
10 Wherefore should the nations say: 'Where is their God?' Let the avenging of Thy servants' blood that is shed be made known among the nations in our sight.
Mengapa bangsa-bangsa lain boleh berkata: "Di mana Allah mereka?" Biarlah di hadapan kami bangsa-bangsa lain mengetahui pembalasan atas darah yang tertumpah dari hamba-hamba-Mu.
11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Thee; according to the greatness of Thy power set free those that are appointed to death;
Biarlah sampai ke hadapan-Mu keluhan orang tahanan; sesuai dengan kebesaran lengan-Mu, biarkanlah hidup orang-orang yang ditentukan untuk mati dibunuh!
12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached Thee, O Lord.
Dan balikkanlah ke atas pangkuan tetangga kami tujuh kali lipat cela yang telah didatangkan kepada-Mu, ya Tuhan!
13 So we that are Thy people and the flock of Thy pasture will give Thee thanks for ever; we will tell of Thy praise to all generations.
Maka kami ini, umat-Mu, dan kawanan domba gembalaan-Mu, akan bersyukur kepada-Mu untuk selama-lamanya, dan akan memberitakan puji-pujian untuk-Mu turun-temurun.
