Ephesians 2
1 AND you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
Voi ați fost înviați, când erați morți în fărădelegi și păcate,
2 wherein in times past ye walked after the fashion of this world, after the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now worketh with energy in the children of disobedience: (aiōn g165)
în care umblați odinioară, după cursul acestei lumi, după prințul puterii aerului, duhul care lucrează acum în copiii neascultătorilor. (aiōn g165)
3 among whom also we all have had our conversation in time past, in the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, as well as the rest.
Și noi toți am trăit odinioară printre ei în poftele cărnii noastre, împlinind poftele cărnii și ale minții, și eram din fire copii ai mâniei, ca și ceilalți.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, through the great love with which he hath loved us,
Dar Dumnezeu, fiind bogat în îndurare, pentru marea Sa dragoste cu care ne-a iubit,
5 though we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved, )
chiar și atunci când eram morți din cauza greșelilor noastre, ne-a făcut vii împreună cu Hristos — prin har ați fost mântuiți —
6 and hath raised us up together with him, and made us sit down together in the heavenly regions in Christ Jesus.
și ne-a înviat împreună cu El și ne-a făcut să ședem cu El în locurile cerești în Hristos Isus,
7 That he might shew forth in the ages to come the transcendent riches of his grace, in the kindness shewed to us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)
pentru ca în veacurile viitoare să arate bogăția nespus de mare a harului Său în bunătatea Sa față de noi în Hristos Isus; (aiōn g165)
8 For by grace ye are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God:
căci prin har ați fost mântuiți prin credință, și aceasta nu de la voi înșivă; este un dar al lui Dumnezeu,
9 not by works, lest any man should boast;
nu prin fapte, ca nimeni să nu se laude.
10 for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, for which God hath before prepared us, that we should walk therein.
Căci noi suntem lucrarea Lui, creați în Hristos Isus pentru fapte bune, pe care Dumnezeu le-a pregătit mai dinainte ca noi să umblăm în ele.
11 Wherefore remember that ye in time past were Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that called circumcision made by hands in the flesh;
Aduceți-vă aminte că odinioară, voi, neamurile în trup, care sunteți numiți “netăiați împrejur” prin ceea ce se numește “tăierea împrejur” (în trup, făcută de mâini),
12 that ye were at that time without Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and atheists in the world:
erați în vremea aceea despărțiți de Hristos, înstrăinați de comunitatea lui Israel și străini de legămintele făgăduinței, fără nădejde și fără Dumnezeu în lume.
13 but now in Christ Jesus, ye who formerly were far off, are become nigh by the blood of Christ.
Dar acum, în Hristos Isus, voi, care altădată erați departe, ați fost apropiați prin sângele lui Hristos.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of separation,
Căci el este pacea noastră, care i-a făcut pe amândoi una și a dărâmat zidul de mijloc al despărțirii,
15 destroying the enmity in his flesh, even the law of precepts, in ordinances, that he might from the two create in himself one new man, making peace,
după ce a desființat în trupul său ostilitatea, legea poruncilor cuprinse în rânduieli, ca să creeze în sine un singur om nou din cei doi, făcând pace,
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby;
și să-i împace pe amândoi într-un singur trup cu Dumnezeu prin cruce, după ce a ucis prin ea ostilitatea.
17 and coming, hath preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those who were nigh:
El a venit și a propovăduit pacea atât vouă, care erați departe, cât și celor apropiați.
18 for through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Căci prin el amândoi avem acces la Tatăl într-un singur Duh.
19 So then ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Așadar, voi nu mai sunteți străini și străini, ci sunteți concetățeni ai sfinților și ai casei lui Dumnezeu,
20 built up on the foundation of apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
fiind zidiți pe temelia apostolilor și a profeților, piatra unghiulară principală fiind Cristos Isus însuși;
21 in whom the whole building exactly cemented together groweth into a holy temple in the Lord:
în care toată clădirea, bine închegată, se dezvoltă într-un templu sfânt în Domnul;
22 by whom also ye have been built up together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
în care și voi sunteți zidiți împreună pentru a fi locuința lui Dumnezeu în Duhul Sfânt.
