Psalms 45
1 To him that excelleth on Shoshannim a song of love to give instruction, committed to the sonnes of Korah. Mine heart will vtter forth a good matter: I wil intreat in my workes of the King: my tongue is as the pen of a swift writer.
Au maître chantre. En schoschanim. Hymne des fils de Coré. Chant des amours. Il jaillit de mon cœur un propos excellent. Je dis: Mon œuvre est pour le Roi!
2 Thou art fayrer then the children of men: grace is powred in thy lips, because God hath blessed thee for euer.
Que ma langue soit le style d'un écrivain rapide! En beauté tu surpasses les enfants des hommes, la grâce est répandue sur tes lèvres: aussi Dieu te bénit éternellement.
3 Gird thy sword vpon thy thigh, O most mightie, to wit, thy worship and thy glory,
Guerrier, ceins à tes flancs ton épée, ta parure et ta gloire!
4 And prosper with thy glory: ride vpon the worde of trueth and of meekenes and of righteousnes: so thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
et ta gloire!… Monte sur ton char! triomphe pour la vérité, la bonté, la justice! et que ta droite te montre les exploits terribles!
5 Thine arrowes are sharpe to pearce the heart of the Kings enemies: therefore the people shall fall vnder thee.
Tes flèches acérées (des peuples tomberont sous tes coups) iront au cœur des ennemis du Roi.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for euer and euer: the scepter of thy kingdome is a scepter of righteousnesse.
Ton trône, Dieu! est permanent, éternel, le sceptre de ton empire est un sceptre équitable.
7 Thou louest righteousnes, and hatest wickednesse, because God, euen thy God hath anoynted thee with the oyle of gladnes aboue thy fellowes.
Tu aimes la justice, et tu hais l'impiété: aussi, Dieu! ton Dieu par l'onction de l'huile d'allégresse te distingua de tes pairs.
8 All thy garments smelll of myrrhe and aloes, and cassia, when thou commest out of the yuorie palaces, where they haue made thee glad.
La myrrhe, et l'aloès, et le laurier, parfument tes vêtements; des palais d'ivoire le son des harpes vient te réjouir.
9 Kings daugthers were among thine honorable wiues: vpon thy right hand did stand the Queene in a vesture of golde of Ophir.
Les filles des rois sont parmi tes bien-aimées; la Reine est à ta droite, parée d'or d'Ophir.
10 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine eare: forget also thine owne people and thy fathers house.
Ecoute, ma fille, et considère et prête l'oreille! Oublie ton peuple et la maison de ton père!
11 So shall the King haue pleasure in thy beautie: for he is thy Lord, and reuerence thou him.
Le Roi désire ta beauté; puisqu'il est ton Seigneur, rends-lui ton hommage!
12 And the daughter of Tyrus with the rich of the people shall doe homage before thy face with presents.
Et la fille de Tyr, la plus riche des nations, par des offrandes briguera ta faveur.
13 The Kings daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of broydred golde.
Dans toute sa splendeur, en face de l'entrée, la fille royale est assise; sa robe est un brocart d'or.
14 She shalbe brought vnto the King in raiment of needle worke: the virgins that follow after her, and her companions shall be brought vnto thee.
Sur des tapis diaprés elle est conduite au Roi; à sa suite, les vierges ses compagnes te sont amenées;
15 With ioy and gladnes shall they be brought, and shall enter into the Kings palace.
escortées de joie et d'allégresse, elles entrent dans le palais du Roi.
16 In steade of thy fathers shall thy children be: thou shalt make them princes through all the earth.
A tes pères succéderont tes fils; tu les établiras princes par toute la terre.
17 I will make thy Name to be remembred through all generations: therefore shall the people giue thanks vnto thee world without ende.
Je rappellerai ton nom d'âge en âge: aussi les peuples te loueront toujours, à jamais.
