Psalms 30

1 A Psalme or song of the dedication of the house of David. I will magnifie thee, O Lord: for thou hast exalted mee, and hast not made my foe to reioyce ouer me.

Povzdigoval te bom, oh Gospod, kajti dvignil si me in nisi storil, da se moji nasprotniki veselijo nad menoj.

2 O Lord my God, I cried vnto thee, and thou hast restored me.

Oh Gospod, moj Bog, klical sem k tebi in ti si me ozdravil.

3 O Lord, thou hast brought vp my soule out of the graue: thou hast reuiued me from them that goe downe into the pit. (Sheol h7585)

Oh Gospod, mojo dušo si privedel iz groba. Ohranil si me živega, da ne bi šel dol v jamo. (Sheol h7585)

4 Sing praises vnto the Lord, ye his Saintes, and giue thankes before the remembrance of his Holinesse.

Prepevajte Gospodu, oh vi njegovi sveti in zahvaljujte se ob spominu njegove svetosti.

5 For he endureth but a while in his anger: but in his fauour is life: weeping may abide at euening, but ioy commeth in the morning.

Kajti njegova jeza ostaja samo trenutek, v njegovi naklonjenosti je življenje. Jokanje lahko vztraja za [eno] noč, toda radost prihaja zjutraj.

6 And in my prosperitie I sayde, I shall neuer be moued.

V svojem uspevanju sem rekel: »Nikoli ne bom omajan.«

7 For thou Lord of thy goodnes hadest made my mountaine to stande strong: but thou didest hide thy face, and I was troubled.

Gospod, po svoji naklonjenosti si storil, da moja gora trdno stoji. Skril si svoje obličje in sem bil zaskrbljen.

8 Then cried I vnto thee, O Lord, and praied to my Lord.

K tebi sem klical, oh Gospod in h Gospodu sem naredil ponižno prošnjo.

9 What profite is there in my blood, when I go downe to the pit? shall the dust giue thankes vnto thee? or shall it declare thy trueth?

»Kakšna korist je v moji krvi, ko pojdem dol v jamo? Mar te bo hvalil prah? Bo ta oznanjal tvojo resnico?

10 Heare, O Lord, and haue mercy vpon me: Lord, be thou mine helper.

Prisluhni, oh Gospod in usmili se me. Gospod, bodi moj pomočnik.«

11 Thou hast turned my mourning into ioy: thou hast loosed my sacke and girded mee with gladnesse.

Ti si zame obrnil moje žalovanje v ples. Odložil si mojo vrečevino in me opasal z veseljem,

12 Therefore shall my tongue praise thee and not cease: O Lord my God, I will giue thankes vnto thee for euer.

z namenom, da lahko moja slava tebi poje hvalnico in ne bo molčeča. Oh Gospod, moj Bog, zahvaljeval se ti bom na veke.
