Psalms 20

1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:

Salmo di Davide, [dato] al Capo de' Musici IL Signore ti risponda nel giorno che tu sarai in distretta; Leviti ad alto in salvo il Nome dell'Iddio di Giacobbe;

2 Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.

Manditi soccorso dal Santuario, E sostengati da Sion;

3 Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. (Selah)

Ricordisi di tutte le tue offerte, E riduca in cenere il tuo olocausto. (Sela)

4 And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:

Diati [ciò che è] secondo il cuor tuo, E adempia ogni tuo consiglio.

5 That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.

Noi canteremo di allegrezza per la tua vittoria, Ed alzeremo bandiere nel Nome dell'Iddio nostro. Il Signore adempia tutte le tue domande.

6 Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.

Ora so, che il Signore ha salvato il suo unto; Egli gli risponderà dal cielo della sua santità; La vittoria della sua destra [è] con gran potenza.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

Gli uni [si fidano] in carri, e gli altri in cavalli; Ma noi ricorderemo il Nome del Signore Iddio nostro.

8 They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.

Quelli sono andati in giù, e son caduti; Ma noi siamo restati in piè, e ci siam rizzati.

9 Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.

Salva, Signore; Rispondaci il re nel giorno che noi grideremo.
