Proverbs 10
1 THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
Detta är Salomos ordspråk. En vis son gör sin fader glädje, men en dåraktig son är sin moders bedrövelse.
2 The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
Ogudaktighetens skatter gagna till intet men rättfärdigheten räddar från döden.
3 The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
HERREN lämnar ej den rättfärdiges hunger omättad, men de ogudaktigas lystnad avvisar han.
4 A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
Fattig bliver den som arbetar med lat hand, men de idogas hand skaffar rikedom.
5 He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
En förståndig son samlar om sommaren, men en vanartig son sover i skördetiden.
6 Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
Välsignelser komma över den rättfärdiges huvud, men de ogudaktigas mun gömmer på orätt.
7 The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
Den rättfärdiges åminnelse lever i välsignelse, men de ogudaktigas namn multnar bort.
8 The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
Den som har ett vist hjärta tager emot tillsägelser, men den som har oförnuftiga läppar går till sin undergång.
9 He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
Den som vandrar i ostrafflighet, han vandrar trygg, men den som går vrånga vägar, han bliver röjd.
10 He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
Den som blinkar med ögonen, han kommer ont åstad, och den som har oförnuftiga läppar går till sin undergång.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
Den rättfärdiges mun är en livets källa, men de ogudaktigas mun gömmer på orätt.
12 Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
Hat uppväcker trätor, men kärlek skyler allt som är brutet.
13 In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
På den förståndiges läppar finner man vishet, men till den oförståndiges rygg hör ris.
14 Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
De visa gömma på sin kunskap, men den oförnuftiges mun är en överhängande olycka.
15 The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
Den rikes skatter äro honom en fast stad, men de armas fattigdom är deras olycka.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
Den rättfärdiges förvärv bliver honom till liv; den ogudaktiges vinning bliver honom till synd.
17 He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
Att taga vara på tuktan är vägen till livet, men den som ej aktar på tillrättavisning, han far vilse.
18 He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
Den som gömmer på hat är en lögnare med sina läppar, och den som utsprider förtal, han är en dåre.
19 In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
Där många ord äro bliver överträdelse icke borta; men den som styr sina läppar, han är förståndig.
20 The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
Den rättfärdiges tunga är utvalt silver, men de ogudaktigas förstånd är föga värt.
21 The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
Den rättfärdiges läppar vederkvicka många, men de oförnuftiga dö genom brist på förstånd.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
Det är HERRENS välsignelse som giver rikedom, och egen möda lägger intet därtill
23 It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
Dårens fröjd är att öva skändlighet, men den förståndiges är att vara vis.
24 That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
Vad den ogudaktige fruktar, det vederfares honom, och vad de rättfärdiga önska, del varder dem givet.
25 As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
När stormen kommer, är det ute med den ogudaktige; men den rättfärdige är en grundval som evinnerligen består.
26 As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
Såsom syra för tänderna och såsom rök för ögonen, så är den late för den som har sänt honom åstad.
27 The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
HERRENS fruktan förlänger livet men de ogudaktigas år varda förkortade.
28 The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
De rättfärdigas väntan får en glad fullbordan, men de ogudaktigas hopp varder om intet.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
HERRENS vägar äro den ostraffliges värn, men till olycka för ogärningsmännen.
30 The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
Den rättfärdige skall aldrig vackla men de ogudaktiga skola icke förbliva boende i landet.
31 The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
Den rättfärdiges mun bär vishet såsom frukt, men en vrång tunga bliver utrotad.
32 The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
Den rättfärdiges läppar förstå vad välbehagligt är, men de ogudaktigas mun är idel vrånghet.
