John 4
1 Nowe when the Lord knew, how the Pharises had heard, that Iesus made and baptized moe disciples then Iohn,
Als der Herr erfahren hatte, den Pharisäern sei berichtet worden, daß Jesus mehr Jünger gewinne und mehr taufe als Johannes
2 (Though Iesus himselfe baptized not: but his disciples)
-doch taufte Jesus nicht selber, sondern seine Jünger-
3 Hee left Iudea, and departed againe into Galile.
verließ er Judäa und ging nach Galiläa zurück.
4 And he must needes goe through Samaria.
Er mußte seinen Weg durch Samaria nehmen.
5 Then came hee to a citie of Samaria called Sychar, neere vnto the possession that Iacob gaue to his sonne Ioseph.
So kam er zu einer Stadt Samarias mit Namen Sichar, nahe bei dem Grundstück, das Jakob seinem Sohne Joseph geschenkt hatte.
6 And there was Iacobs well. Iesus then wearied in the iourney, sate thus on the well: it was about the sixt houre.
Dort war der Jakobsbrunnen. Ermüdet von der Wanderung, setzte sich Jesus ohne weiteres am Brunnen nieder; es war um die sechste Stunde.
7 There came a woman of Samaria to drawe water. Iesus sayd vnto her, Giue me drinke.
Eine Samariterin kam zum Wasserschöpfen. Und Jesus bat sie: "Gib mir zu trinken!"
8 For his disciples were gone away into the citie, to buy meate.
Seine Jünger waren nämlich in die Stadt gegangen, um Nahrungsmittel einzukaufen.
9 Then sayde the woman of Samaria vnto him, Howe is it, that thou being a Iewe, askest drinke of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Iewes meddle not with the Samaritans.
Die Samariterin erwiderte ihm: "Wie kannst denn du, ein Jude, von mir, einer Samariterin, einen Trunk erbitten?" - Die Juden haben nämlich keinerlei Verkehr mit Samaritern. -
10 Iesus answered and saide vnto her, If thou knewest that gift of God, and who it is that saieth to thee, Giue mee drinke, thou wouldest haue asked of him, and hee woulde haue giuen thee, water of life.
Doch Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Wenn du die Gabe Gottes kenntest und den, der dich gebeten: 'Gib mir zu trinken', so hättest du ihn wohl gebeten, und er würde dir fließendes Wasser geben."
11 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to drawe with, and the well is deepe: from whence then hast thou that water of life?
"Herr!" sagte das Weib zu ihm, "du hast ja kein Schöpfgefäß, und der Brunnen ist tief. Woher hast du denn fließendes Wasser?
12 Art thou greater then our father Iacob, which gaue vs the well, and hee himselfe dranke thereof, and his sonnes, and his cattell?
Bist du vielleicht größer als unser Vater Jakob, der uns den Brunnen gegeben und selbst aus ihm getrunken hat, samt seinen Söhnen und Herden?"
13 Iesus answered, and said vnto her, Whosoeuer drinketh of this water, shall thirst againe:
Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Wer von diesem Wasser trinkt, den wird es wieder dürsten;
15 The woman said vnto him, Syr, giue me of that water, that I may not thirst, neither come hither to drawe.
Darauf bat ihn das Weib: "Herr, gib mir dieses Wasser, damit ich nimmer dürste und nicht mehr zum Wasserschöpfen herzukommen brauche."
16 Iesus said vnto her, Go, call thine husband, and come hither.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Geh, rufe deinen Mann und komm hierher!"
17 The woman answered, and saide, I haue no husband. Iesus said vnto her, Thou hast well said, I haue no husband.
Das Weib gab ihm zur Antwort: "Ich habe keinen Mann." Und Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Du hast recht, wenn du sagst: 'Ich habe keinen Mann.'
18 For thou hast had fiue husbands, and he whom thou nowe hast, is not thine husband: that saidest thou truely.
Fünf Männer hast du schon gehabt, und der, den du jetzt hast, ist nicht dein Mann. Da hast du die Wahrheit gesagt."
19 The woman saide vnto him, Sir, I see that thou art a Prophet.
"Herr", sagte darauf das Weib zu ihm, "ich sehe, du bist ein Prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountaine, and ye say, that in Ierusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
Unsere Väter haben Gott auf diesem Berge angebetet; ihr sagt, in Jerusalem sei die Stätte, wo man anbeten müsse."
21 Iesus saide vnto her, Woman, beleeue me, the houre commeth, when ye shall neither in this mountaine, nor at Hierusalem worship ye Father.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihr: "Weib, glaube mir: Die Stunde kommt, da ihr weder auf dem Berge dort noch in Jerusalem den Vater anbeten werdet.
22 Ye worship that which ye knowe not: we worship that which we knowe: for saluation is of the Iewes.
Ihr betet an, was ihr nicht kennet; wir beten an, was wir kennen; denn das Heil kommt von den Juden.
23 But the houre commeth, and nowe is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit, and trueth: for the Father requireth euen such to worship him.
Jedoch die Stunde kommt, und sie ist jetzt da, in der die wahren Anbeter den Vater im Geist und in der Wahrheit anbeten werden. Der Vater sucht solche Anbeter;
24 God is a Spirite, and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and trueth.
denn Gott ist Geist, und die ihn anbeten, müssen ihm im Geist und in der Wahrheit anbeten."
25 The woman said vnto him, I knowe well that Messias shall come which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell vs all things.
Das Weib entgegnete ihm: "Ich weiß, daß der Messias - das ist der sogenannte Christus - kommt. Ist er einmal da, dann wird er alles uns verkünden."
26 Iesus said vnto her, I am he, that speake vnto thee.
Da sagte Jesus zu ihr: "Ich bin es, der mit dir redet."
27 And vpon that, came his disciples, and marueiled that he talked with a woman: yet no man said vnto him, What askest thou? or why talkest thou with her?
Darüber kamen seine Jünger. Sie wunderten sich sehr, daß er mit einem Weibe rede. Doch fragte keiner: "Was willst du von ihr?" oder "Was redest du mit ihr?"
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the citie, and said to the men,
Das Weib ließ ihren Wasserkrug indessen stehen, eilte in die Stadt und sagte zu den Leuten:
29 Come, see a man which hath tolde me all things that euer I did: is not he that Christ?
"Kommt, seht einen Mann, der mir alles gesagt hat, was ich getan habe. Vielleicht ist dieser der Christus."
30 Then they went out of the citie, and came vnto him.
Da gingen sie zur Stadt hinaus und kamen zu ihm.
31 In the meane while, the disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eate.
Inzwischen baten ihn seine Jünger: "Rabbi, iß!"
32 But he said vnto them, I haue meate to eate that ye know not of.
Er aber sprach zu ihnen: "Ich habe eine Speise zum Essen, die ihr nicht kennt."
33 Then said ye disciples betweene themselues, Hath any man brought him meate?
Die Jünger sprachen zueinander: "Hat ihm denn jemand zu essen gebracht?"
34 Iesus saide vnto them, My meate is that I may doe the will of him that sent me, and finish his worke.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Meine Speise ist es, den Willen dessen zu tun, der mich gesandt hat, und sein Werk zur Vollendung zu bringen.
35 Say not ye, There are yet foure moneths, and then commeth haruest? Beholde, I say vnto you, Lift vp your eyes, and looke on the regions: for they are white alreadie vnto haruest.
Sagt ihr denn nicht: Noch vier Monate, und dann kommt die Ernte? Seht, ich sage euch: Erhebt eure Augen und betrachtet die Felder; sie sind weiß zur Ernte.
36 And he that reapeth, receiueth rewarde, and gathereth fruite vnto life eternall, that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth, might reioyce together. (aiōnios g166)
Schon empfängt der Schnitter seinen Lohn und sammelt Frucht zum ewigen Leben, daß Sämann und Schnitter sich zugleich erfreuen. (aiōnios g166)
37 For herein is the saying true, that one soweth, and an other reapeth.
Hier wird das Sprichwort wahr: 'Ein anderer sät, ein anderer erntet.'
38 I sent you to reape that, whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entred into their labours.
Ich habe euch ausgesandt zu ernten, wo ihr nicht gearbeitet habt; andere taten die Arbeit, und ihr seid in ihre Arbeit eingetreten."
39 Nowe many of the Samaritans of that citie beleeued in him, for the saying of the woman which testified, He hath tolde me all things that euer I did.
Viele Samariter aus jener Stadt glaubten an ihn, weil das Weib ihnen fest versicherte: "Er hat mir alles gesagt, was ich getan habe."
40 Then when the Samaritans were come vnto him, they besought him, that he woulde tarie with them: and he abode there two dayes.
Die Samariter kamen zu ihm und baten ihn, bei ihnen zu bleiben.
41 And many moe beleeued because of his owne word.
Er blieb dort zwei Tage. Noch viel mehr glaubten an ihn um seiner Lehre willen.
42 And they said vnto the woman, Nowe we beleeue, not because of thy saying: for we haue heard him our selues, and knowe that this is in deede that Christ the Sauiour of the world.
Dem Weibe aber sagten sie: "Nicht mehr um deines Redens willen glauben wir, nun haben wir ihn selbst gehört, wir wissen: Dieser ist wahrhaft der Heiland der Welt."
43 So two dayes after he departed thence, and went into Galile.
Nach den zwei Tagen zog er von dort weiter und ging nach Galiläa.
44 For Iesus himselfe had testified, that a Prophet hath none honour in his owne countrey.
Auch Jesus selbst ist ein Beweis dafür, daß ein Prophet in seiner Heimat keine Anerkennung findet.
45 Then when he was come into Galile, the Galileans receiued him, which had seene all the things that he did at Hierusalem at the feast: for they went also vnto the feast.
Doch als er nach Galiläa kam, da nahmen ihn die Galiläer auf; sie hatten alles gesehen, was er in Jerusalem am Feste gewirkt hatte; auch sie waren nämlich zum Feste gekommen.
46 And Iesus came againe into Cana a towne of Galile, where he had made of water, wine. And there was a certaine ruler, whose sonne was sicke at Capernaum.
So kam er wieder nach Kana in Galiläa, wo er das Wasser in Wein verwandelt hatte. Da war ein königlicher Beamter in Kapharnaum, dessen Sohn krank darniederlag.
47 When he heard that Iesus was come out of Iudea into Galile, he went vnto him, and besought him that he would goe downe, and heale his sonne: for he was euen ready to die.
Als er vernahm, daß Jesus von Judäa her nach Galiläa komme, suchte er ihn auf und bat ihn, er möge kommen und seinen Sohn, der schon im Sterben liege, heilen.
48 Then saide Iesus vnto him, Except ye see signes and wonders, ye will not beleeue.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Wenn ihr nicht Zeichen und Wunder seht, glaubt ihr nicht."
49 The ruler said vnto him, Syr, goe downe before my sonne dye.
Da bat ihn der königliche Beamte: "Herr, komm, bevor mein Kind stirbt."
50 Iesus said vnto him, Go thy way, thy sonne liueth: and the man beleeued the worde that Iesus had spoken vnto him, and went his way.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: "Geh heim, dein Sohn lebt." Der Mann glaubte dem Wort, das Jesus ihm gesagt hatte, und ging heim.
51 And as he was nowe going downe, his seruants met him, saying, Thy sonne liueth.
Er war noch auf dem Wege, da kamen ihm seine Knechte entgegen mit der Kunde: "Dein Sohn lebt."
52 Then enquired he of them the houre when he began to amend. And they said vnto him, Yesterday the seuenth houre the feuer left him.
Er fragte sie nach der Stunde, in der die Besserung eingetreten sei. Sie sagten ihm: "Gestern um die siebte Stunde hat ihn das Fieber verlassen."
53 Then the father knew, that it was the same houre in the which Iesus had said vnto him, Thy sonne liueth. And he beleeued, and all his houshold.
Da erkannte der Vater, daß es genau die Stunde gewesen war, da Jesus ihm gesagt hatte: "Dein Sohn lebt." Nun wurde er mit seinem Hause gläubig.
54 This second miracle did Iesus againe, after he was come out of Iudea into Galile.
Das war schon das zweite Zeichen, das Jesus nach der Rückkehr aus Judäa nach Galiläa gewirkt hatte.
