Jeremiah 49
1 Unto the children of Ammon thus saith the Lord, Hath Israel no sonnes? or hath he none heire? Why then hath their king possessed God? and his people dwelt in his cities?
Sobre los hijos de Amón. Estas son las palabras del Señor: ¿Israel no tiene hijos? ¿No tiene el heredero? ¿Por qué, entonces, Milcom ha tomado a Gad para sí mismo, poniendo a su gente en sus pueblos?
2 Therefore beholde the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that I will cause a noyse of warre to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites, and it shall be a desolate heape, and her daughters shall be burnt with fire: then shall Israel possesse those that possessed him, sayeth the Lord.
Debido a esto, mira, vienen los días en que sonará un grito de guerra contra Raba, la ciudad de los hijos de Amón; se convertirá en un montón de muros rotos, y sus ciudades serán quemadas con fuego; entonces Israel tomará la herencia de aquellos que tomaron su herencia, dice el Señor.
3 Howle, O Heshbon, for Ai is wasted: crie ye daughters of Rabbah: girde you with sackecloth: mourne and runne to and from by the hedges: for their King shall goe into captiuitie; and his Priestes, and his princes likewise.
Gime, oh Hesbón, porque Ahí ha sido destruido; clamen, oh hijas de Rabá, y ustedes vístanse de silicio; entréguense a llorar, corran por aquí y por allá entre los muros; porque Milcom será hecho prisionero junto con sus gobernantes y sus sacerdotes.
4 Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleis? thy valley floweth away, O rebellious daughter: she trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come vnto me?
¿Por qué te enorgulleces a causa de tus valles, de tu valle que fluye, oh hija que te apartas? ¿Quién pone su fe en su riqueza, diciendo: ¿Quién vendrá contra mí?
5 Beholde, I will bring a feare vpon thee, sayth the Lord God of hostes, of all those that be about thee, and ye shalbe scattered euery man right foorth, and none shall gather him that fleeth.
Mira, te enviaré miedo, dice el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, de los que te rodean por todos lados; serás forzado a salir, cada hombre saldrá corriendo por su lado, y no habrá nadie para reunir a los errantes.
6 And afterward I will bring againe the captiuitie of the children of Ammon.
Pero después de estas cosas, dejaré que cambie el destino de los hijos de Amón, dice el Señor.
7 To Edom thus sayeth the Lord of hostes: Is wisdome no more in Teman? is counsel perished from their children? is their wisdome vanished?
Sobre Edom. Esto es lo que ha dicho el señor de los ejércitos. ¿No hay más sabiduría en Teman? ¿Han terminado las sabias sugerencias entre los hombres de buen sentido? ¿Su sabiduría se ha corrompido?
8 Flee, ye inhabitants of Dedan (they are turned backe, and haue consulted to dwell) for I haue brought the destruction of Esau vpon him, and the time of his visitation.
Ve en vuelo, regresa, busca refugio en lugares profundos, tú que vives en Dedán; porque le enviaré el quebrantamiento de Esaú, ha llegado el momento de su castigo.
9 If the grape gatherers come to thee, would they not leaue some grapes? if theeues come by night, they will destroy till they haue ynough.
Si los hombres vinieran a recoger tus uvas, ¿no dejarían racimos? Si los ladrones vinieran de noche, ¿no harían desperdicio hasta que tuvieran suficiente?
10 For I haue discouered Esau: I haue vncouered his secrets, and he shall not be able to hide himselfe: his seede is wasted, and his brethren and his neighbours, and there shall be none to say,
He despojado a Esaú, descubriendo sus lugares secretos, para que no se mantenga escondido; su descendencia, parientes y amigos, fueron destruidos y él ya no existe.
11 Leaue thy fathers children, and I will preserue them aliue, and let thy widowes trust in me.
Pon a mi cuidado a tus hijos que no tienen padre, y los mantendré a salvo; y que tus viudas pongan su fe en mí.
12 For thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, they whose iudgement was not to drinke of the cuppe, haue assuredly drunken, and art thou he that shall escape free? thou shalt not goe free, but thou shalt surely drinke of it.
Porque el Señor ha dicho: Aquellos para quienes no se preparó la copa ciertamente se verán obligados a tomarla; ¿Y vas a ir sin castigo? no estarás sin castigo, pero ciertamente serás obligado a tomar de la copa.
13 For I haue sworne by my selfe, sayeth the Lord, that Bozrah shall be waste, and for a reproche, and a desolation, and a curse, and all the cities thereof shall be perpetuall desolations.
Porque yo mismo he jurado, dice el Señor, que Bosra se convertirá en una causa de asombro, un nombre de vergüenza, un espanto y una maldición; y todos sus pueblos serán lugares desolados para siempre.
14 I haue heard a rumour from the Lord, and an ambassadour is sent vnto the heathen, saying, Gather you together, and come against her, and rise vp to the battell.
Me han llegado noticias del Señor y un representante ha sido enviado a las naciones para decir: “Vengan juntos, suban contra ella y ocupen sus lugares para la lucha”.
15 For loe, I will make thee but small among the heathen, and despised among men.
Porque mira, te he hecho pequeño entre las naciones, despreciado por los hombres.
16 Thy feare, and ye pride of thine heart hath deceiued thee, thou that dwellest in the cleftes of the rocke, and keepest the height of ye hil: though thou shouldest make thy nest as hie as the eagle, I wil bring thee downe from thece, sayth the Lord.
El orgullo de tu corazón ha sido una falsa esperanza, oh tú, que estás viviendo en las grietas de la roca, manteniendo tu lugar en la cima de la colina; incluso si hiciste tu lugar de vida tan alto Como el águila, te haría bajar, dice el Señor.
17 Also Edom shall be desolate: euery one that goeth by it, shall be astonished, and shall hisse at all the plagues thereof,
Y Edom se convertirá en un motivo de asombro; todos los que pasen serán asombrados, y emitirán sonidos de miedo al ver su castigos.
18 As in the ouerthrowe of Sodom, and of Gomorah, and the places thereof neere about, saieth the Lord: no man shall dwell there, neither shall the sonnes of men remaine in it.
Como en la caída de Sodoma y Gomorra y sus pueblos vecinos, dice el Señor, ningún hombre vivirá en ella, ningún hijo del hombre tendrá un lugar de descanso allí.
19 Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong dwelling place: for I will make Israel to rest, euen I will make him to haste away from her, and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like mee? and who will appoint me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?
Mira, él subirá como un león desde el espeso crecimiento del Jordán contra el lugar de descanso de Teman; pero de repente lo haré huir de ella; y pondré sobre ella al hombre de mi elección. ¿quién es como yo? ¿Y quién presentará su causa contra mí? ¿Y qué guardián de ovejas podrá mantener su lugar delante de mí?
20 Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Edom, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
Por esta causa, escuche la decisión que el Señor, tomó contra Edom y sus propósitos diseñados contra la gente de Teman. En verdad, serán arrastrados hasta el rebaño más pequeño; En verdad, destruirán sus pastizales.
21 The earth is mooued at the noyse of their fall: the crie of their voice is heard in the red Sea.
La tierra tiembla con el ruido de su caída; Su llanto está sonando en el mar rojo.
22 Behold, he shall come vp, and flie as the Egle, and spreade his wings ouer Bozrah, and at that day shall the heart of the strong men of Edome be as the heart of a woman in trauaile.
Mira, él subirá como un águila en vuelo, extendiendo sus alas contra Bosra: y los corazones de los hombres de guerra de Edom en ese día serán como el corazón de una mujer de parto.
23 Vnto Damascus he sayeth, Hamath is confounded and Arpad, for they haue heard euill tidings, and they are faint hearted as one on the fearefull sea that can not rest.
Mensaje sobre Damasco. Hamat es avergonzado, y Arpad; porque la palabra del mal ha llegado a sus oídos, su corazón en su temor se convierte como el mar que no se puede calmar.
24 Damascus is discouraged, and turneth her selfe to flight and feare hath seased her: anguish and sorowes haue taken her as a woman in trauaile.
Damasco se ha debilitado, se ha convertido en un fugitivo, el miedo la ha agarrado; el dolor y las penas le han afectado, como a una mujer en los dolores de parto.
25 How is the glorious citie not reserued, the citie of my ioy?
Cómo se ha dejado el pueblo de alabanza, el lugar de la alegría.
26 Therefore her yong men shall fall in her streetes, and all her men of warre shall be cut off in that day, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
Entonces sus jóvenes caerán tendidos en sus calles, y todos los hombres de guerra morirán en ese día, dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
27 And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, which shall cosume the palaces of Benhadad.
Y prenderé fuego la pared de Damasco, quemando las grandes casas de Ben-adad.
28 Vnto Kedar, and to the kingdomes of Hazor, which Nebuchad-nezzar, king of Babel shall smite, thus sayeth the Lord, Arise, and goe vp vnto Kedar, and destroy the men of the East.
Sobre Cedar y los reinos de Hazor, que Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, venció. Esto es lo que el Señor ha dicho: ¡Arriba! Ve contra Cedar y ataca a los hijos del este.
29 Their tents and their flocks shall they take away: yea, they shall take to themselues their curtaines and all their vessels, and their camels, and they shall crie vnto them, Feare is on euery side.
Tomarán sus tiendas y sus rebaños; quitarán para sí sus cortinas y todos sus utensilios, sus camellos; les gritarán: Hay terror por todos lados.
30 Flee, get you farre off (they haue consulted to dwell) O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the Lord: for Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel hath taken counsell against you, and hath deuised a purpose against you.
Vete en vuelo, vaga lejos, escápate en lugares lejanos, oh pueblo de Hazor, dice el Señor; porque Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, ha hecho un plan contra ti, tiene un propósito contra ti en mente.
31 Arise, and get you vp vnto the welthy nation that dwelleth without care, saith the Lord, which haue neither gates nor barres, but dwel alone.
Levántate. Vayan contra una nación que vive cómodamente y sin temor al peligro, dice el Señor, sin puertas ni cerraduras, viviendo solo.
32 And their camels shall be a bootie, and the multitude of their cattel a spoile, and I will scatter them into all windes, and to the vtmost corners, and I will bring their destruction from al the sides thereof, sayeth the Lord.
Y sus camellos serán quitados de ellos por la fuerza, y sus grandes manadas vendrán a las manos de sus atacantes; a los que tienen cortados los cabos, los enviaré en vuelo a todos los rincones; y les enviaré su destrucción desde todos lados, dice el Señor.
33 And Hazor shall be a dwelling for dragons, and desolation for euer: there shall no man dwell there, nor the sonnes of men remaine in it.
Y Hazor será un agujero para los chacales, un desierto para siempre; nadie vivirá en él, y ningún hijo de hombre tendrá un lugar de descanso allí.
34 The woordes of the Lord that came to Ieremiah the Prophet, concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reigne of Zedekiah King of Iudah, saying,
La palabra del Señor que vino a Jeremías profeta acerca de Elam, cuando Sedequías se convirtió por primera vez en rey de Judá, diciendo:
35 Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will breake the bowe of Elam, euen the chiefe of their strength.
Esto es lo que ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: Mira, tendré el arco de Elam, su fuerza principal, rota.
36 And vpon Elam I will bring the foure windes from the foure quarters of heauen, and will scatter them towardes all these windes, and there shall bee no nation, whither the fugitiues of Elam shall not come.
Y enviaré a Elam cuatro vientos de las cuatro cuartas partes del cielo, llevándolos a todos esos vientos; No habrá ninguna nación a la que no lleguen los errantes de Elam.
37 For I will cause Elam to be afraied before their enemies, and before them that seeke their liues, and will bring vpon them a plague, euen the indignation of my wrath, saieth the Lord, and I wil sende the sworde after them till I haue consumed them.
Y permitiré que Elam tiemble ante sus enemigos, y ante aquellos que están haciendo planes contra sus vidas; Enviaré el mal sobre ellos, incluso mi ira ardiente, dice el Señor; y les enviaré la espada hasta que acabe con ellos.
38 And I wil set my throne in Elam, and I wil destroy both the King and the princes from thence, saith the Lord:
Pondré la sede de mi poder en Elam, y en Elam acabaré con los reyes y gobernantes, dice el Señor.
39 but in the latter daies I wil bring againe the captiuitie of Elam, sayeth the Lord.
Pero sucederá que, en los últimos días, dejaré que cambie el destino de Elam, dice el Señor.
