Isaiah 1
1 A vision of Isaiah, the sonne of Amoz, which he sawe concerning Iudah and Ierusalem: in the dayes of Vzziah, Iotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah Kings of Iudah.
La visión de Isaías, hijo de Amoz, que vio sobre Judá y Jerusalén, en los días de Uzías, Jotam, Acaz y Ezequías, reyes de Judá.
2 Heare, O heauens, and hearken, O earth: for the Lord hath sayde, I haue nourished and brought vp children, but they haue rebelled against me.
Escucha, oh cielos, y tú, oh tierra, a la palabra que el Señor ha dicho: He cuidado de mis hijos hasta que se han hecho hombres, pero sus corazones se han apartado de mí.
3 The oxe knoweth his owner, and the asse his masters crib: but Israel hath not knowen: my people hath not vnderstand.
Incluso el buey tiene conocimiento de su dueño, y el asno del lugar donde su amo pone su comida; pero Israel no tiene conocimiento, mi pueblo no entiende.
4 Ah, sinfull nation, a people laden with iniquitie: a seede of the wicked, corrupt children: they haue forsaken the Lord: they haue prouoked the holy one of Israel to anger: they are gone backewarde.
Oh nación llena de pecado, un pueblo cargado de crimen, una generación de malhechores, hijos de falso corazón! se han ido del Señor, no tienen respeto por el Santo de Israel, sus corazones se apartaron de él.
5 Wherefore shoulde ye be smitten any more? for ye fall away more and more: the whole head is sicke, and the whole heart is heauie.
¿Por qué tendrás más y más castigo? ¿Por qué seguir en tus malos caminos? Toda cabeza está enferma y todo corazón desfallecido.
6 From the sole of the foote vnto the head, there is nothing whole therein, but wounds, and swelling, and sores full of corruption: they haue not bene wrapped, nor bound vp, nor mollified with oyle.
El cuerpo, de pies a cabeza, está todo enfermo; Es una masa de heridas abiertas, marcas de golpes y heridas; el flujo de sangre no se ha detenido y no se ha puesto aceite en las heridas.
7 Your land is waste: your cities are burnt with fire: strangers deuoure your lande in your presence, and it is desolate like the ouerthrowe of strangers.
Tu país se ha convertido en un desperdicio; tus pueblos son quemados con fuego; En cuanto a tu tierra, se volcó ante tus ojos, fue desechada y vencida por hombres de tierras extrañas.
8 And the daughter of Zion shall remaine like a cotage in a vineyarde, like a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, and like a besieged citie.
Y la hija de Sión se ha convertido en una tienda de campaña en un jardín de viñas, como la casa de un vigilante en un campo de frutas, como una ciudad cerrada por ejércitos.
9 Except the Lord of hostes had reserued vnto vs, euen a small remnant: we should haue bene as Sodom, and should haue bene like vnto Gomorah.
Si el Señor de los ejércitos no hubiera mantenido a salvo a algunos de nosotros, habríamos sido como Sodoma, y el destino de Gomorra habría sido el nuestro.
10 Heare the worde of the Lord, O princes of Sodom: hearken vnto the Law of our God, O people of Gomorah.
Escuchen la palabra del Señor, gobernantes de Sodoma; Que sus corazones se vuelvan a la ley de nuestro Dios, pueblo de Gomorra.
11 What haue I to doe with the multitude of your sacrifices, sayth the Lord? I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and of the fat of fed beasts: and I desire not the blood of bullocks, nor of lambs, nor of goates.
¿Para qué me sirve el número de las ofrendas que me dan? dice el Señor sus ofrendas quemadas de ovejas, y las mejores partes del ganado gordo, estoy harto de ellas; No me complace de la sangre de los bueyes, ni de los corderos, ni de los chivos.
12 When ye come to appeare before me, who required this of your hands to tread in my courts?
¿A cuando vienen delante de mí, Quien demanda esto de ustedes, pisoteando mis atrios?
13 Bring no more oblations, in vaine: incense is an abomination vnto me: I can not suffer your newe moones, nor Sabbaths, nor solemne dayes (it is iniquitie) nor solemne assemblies.
No me traigan falsas ofrendas; el incienso para mi es una abominación. Luna nueva y día de reposo, el convocar asambleas, no soporto la iniquidad de sus asambleas solemnes.
14 My soule hateth your newe moones and your appointed feastes: they are a burden vnto me: I am weary to beare them.
Sus nuevas lunas y sus fiestas regulares, son un dolor para mi alma, son un peso en mi espíritu; Estoy cansado de esa carga.
15 And when you shall stretch out your hands, I wil hide mine eyes from you: and though ye make many prayers, I wil not heare: for your hands are full of blood.
Y cuando tengan sus manos extendidas hacia mí, mis ojos se apartarán de ustedes; aunque sigan haciendo oraciones, no escucharé; sus manos están llenas de sangre.
16 Wash you, make you cleane: take away the euill of your workes from before mine eyes: cease to doe euill.
Se lavan, se limpian; aparten el mal de sus obras delante de mis ojos; Sea el fin del pecado.
17 Learne to doe well: seeke iudgement, relieue the oppressed: iudge the fatherlesse and defend the widowe.
Aprendan hacer el bien; busquen la justicia, mantén al margen a los crueles, defiende al niño que no tiene padre, cuida la causa de la viuda.
18 Come nowe, and let vs reason together, sayth the Lord: though your sinnes were as crimsin, they shalbe made white as snowe: though they were red like skarlet, they shalbe as wooll.
Vengan, y discutamos juntos, dice el Señor: aunque sus pecados sean como la grana, yo los dejaré blancos como la nieve; Aunque sean rojos como él carmesí, quedarán blancos como lana.
19 If ye consent and obey, ye shall eate the good things of the land.
Si escuchan mi palabra y la cumplen, las cosas buenas de la tierra serán suyas.
20 But if ye refuse and be rebellious, ye shalbe deuoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Pero si sus corazones se vuelven contra mí, les enviaré la destrucción por la espada; así ha dicho el Señor.
21 Howe is the faithfull citie become an harlot? it was full of iudgement, and iustice lodged therein, but now they are murtherers.
La ciudad recta se ha vuelto una prostituta; hubo un momento en que sus jueces tomaron decisiones correctas, cuando la justicia tenía un lugar de descanso en ella, pero ahora está llena de asesinos.
22 Thy siluer is become drosse: thy wine is mixt with water.
Tu plata ya no es metal verdadero, tu vino se mezcla con agua.
23 Thy Princes are rebellious and companions of theeues: euery one loueth giftes, and followeth after rewards: they iudge not the fatherlesse, neither doeth the widowes cause come before them.
Tus jefes se han ido contra el Señor, se han hecho amigos de los ladrones; Cada uno de ellos está buscando ganancias y persiguiendo recompensas; no toman las decisiones correctas para el niño que no tiene padre, y no les importa la causa de la viuda.
24 Therefore sayth the Lord God of hostes, the mightie one of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine aduersaries, and auenge me of mine enemies.
Por esta razón el Señor, el Señor de los ejércitos, el Fuerte de Israel, ha dicho: Pondré fin a mis enemigos y enviaré castigo a los que están contra mía;
25 Then I will turne mine hand vpon thee, and burne out thy drosse, till it be pure, and take away all thy tinne.
Y mi mano volverá a estar sobre ti, lavando lo que es impuro con jabón, y quitando todo tu metal falso;
26 And I will restore thy iudges as at the first, and thy counsellers as at the beginning: afterward shalt thou be called a citie of righteousnes, and a faithfull citie.
Y les daré de nuevo jueces como al principio, y sabios guías como en el pasado; entonces serás nombrado, El Pueblo de Justicia, el verdadero pueblo.
27 Zion shall be redeemed in iudgement, and they that returne in her, in iustice.
Los actos de arrepentimiento serán el precio del perdón de Sión, y por la justicia los hombres vivirán allí.
28 And the destruction of the transgressers and of the sinners shalbe together: and they that forsake the Lord, shalbe consumed.
Pero una destrucción común superará a los pecadores y los malhechores juntos, y los que se han alejado del Señor serán cortados.
29 For they shalbe confounded for the okes, which ye haue desired, and ye shall be ashamed of the gardens, that ye haue chosen.
Porque ellos serás avergonzado por los árboles que amaste y por los jardines que han escogido.
30 For ye shalbe as an oke, whose leafe fadeth: and as a garden that hath no water.
Porque serán como un árbol cuyas hojas se han secado, y como un jardín sin agua.
31 And the strong shall be as towe, and the maker thereof, as a sparke: and they shall both burne together, and none shall quench them.
Y los fuertes serán como estopa para el fuego, y su obra como una llama; y serán quemados juntos, sin nadie que apague el fuego.
