2 Kings 14
1 The second yeere of Ioash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel reigned Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah.
Im zweiten Jahre des Joas, des Sohnes Joahas, des Königs von Israel, ward Amazia König, der Sohn des Königs Joas von Juda.
2 He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twentie yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Iehoadan of Ierusalem.
Mit fünfundzwanzig Jahren ward er König und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre lang zu Jerusalem.
3 And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, yet not like Dauid his father, but did according to all that Ioash his father had done.
Und er tat, was dem HERRN wohlgefiel, doch nicht wie sein Vater David, sondern ganz so, wie sein Vater Joas getan hatte.
4 Notwithstanding the hie places were not taken away: for as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense in the hie places.
Nur die Höhen kamen nicht weg, sondern das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Höhen.
5 And when the kingdome was confirmed in his hand, he slewe his seruants which had killed the King his father.
Sobald er nun die Herrschaft fest in Händen hatte, erschlug er seine Knechte, die seinen königlichen Vater erschlagen hatten.
6 But the children of those that did slay him, he slewe not, according vnto that that is written in the booke of the Lawe of Moses, wherein the Lord commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children put to death for the fathers: but euery man shall be put to death for his owne sinne.
Aber die Söhne der Mörder tötete er nicht, wie denn im Gesetzbuch Moses geschrieben steht, wo der HERR geboten und gesagt hat: Die Väter sollen nicht um der Söhne willen sterben, und die Söhne sollen nicht um der Väter willen getötet werden; sondern ein jeder soll um seiner Sünde willen sterben.
7 He slew also of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and tooke the citie of Sela by warre, and called the name thereof Ioktheel vnto this day.
Er schlug auch die Edomiter im Salztal, zehntausend [Mann] und gewann Sela im Kampfe und hieß die [Stadt] Jokteel, wie sie heute noch heißt.
8 Then Amaziah sent messengers to Iehoash the sonne of Iehoahaz, sonne of Iehu King of Israel, saying, Come, let vs see one another in the face.
Darnach sandte Amazia Boten zu dem König Joas von Israel, dem Sohne des Joahas, des Sohnes Jehus, und ließ ihm sagen: Komm her, wir wollen uns ins Angesicht sehen!
9 Then Iehoash the King of Israel sent to Amaziah King of Iudah, saying, The thistle that is in Lebanon, sent to the cedar that is in Lebanon, saying, Giue thy daughter to my sonne to wife: and the wilde beast that was in Lebanon, went and trode downe the thistle.
Aber Joas, der König von Israel, sandte zu Amazia, dem König von Juda, und ließ ihm sagen: Der Dornstrauch am Libanon sandte zur Zeder am Libanon und ließ ihr sagen: Gib deine Tochter meinem Sohn zum Weibe! Aber das Wild auf dem Libanon lief über den Dornstrauch und zertrat ihn.
10 Because thou hast smitten Edom, thine heart hath made thee proud: bragge of glory, and tary at home. why doest thou prouoke to thine hurt, that thou shouldest fall, and Iudah with thee?
Du hast die Edomiter gänzlich geschlagen; dessen erhebt sich dein Herz. Trage Sorge zu deinem Ruhm und bleibe daheim! Warum willst du dich ins Unglück stürzen, daß du fallest und Juda mit dir?
11 But Amaziah would not heare: therefore Iehoash King of Israel went vp: and he and Amaziah King of Iudah sawe one another in the face at Beth-shemesh which is in Iudah.
Aber Amazia wollte nicht hören. Da zog Joas, der König von Israel, herauf, und sie schauten sich ins Angesicht, er und Amazia, der König von Juda, zu Beth-Semes, das in Juda liegt.
12 And Iudah was put to the worse before Israel, and they fledde euery man to their tents.
Aber Juda ward vor Israel geschlagen, so daß ein jeder in seine Hütte floh.
13 But Iehoash King of Israel tooke Amaziah King of Iudah, the sonne of Iehoash the sonne of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Ierusalem, and brake downe the wall of Ierusalem from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, foure hundreth cubites.
Und Joas, der König von Israel, nahm Amazia, den König von Juda, den Sohn des Joas, des Sohnes Ahasias, zu Beth-Semes gefangen und kam gen Jerusalem und riß die Stadtmauern ein, vom Tor Ephraim an bis an das Ecktor, vierhundert Ellen [Länge].
14 And he tooke all the gold and siluer, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and the children that were in hostage, and returned to Samaria.
Und er nahm alles Gold und Silber und alle Geräte, welche im Hause des HERRN und in den Schätzen des königlichen Hauses gefunden wurden, dazu Geiseln und kehrte wieder nach Samaria zurück.
15 Concerning the rest of the acts of Iehoash which he did and his valiant deedes, and how he fought with Amaziah King of Iudah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Was aber mehr von Joas zu sagen ist, was er getan, und seine Macht, und wie er mit Amazia, dem König von Juda, gestritten hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?
16 And Iehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried at Samaria among the Kings of Israel: and Ieroboam his sonne reigned in his stead.
Und Joas legte sich zu seinen Vätern und ward zu Samaria bei den Königen von Israel begraben. Und Jerobeam, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
17 And Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, liued after the death of Iehoash sonne of Iehoahaz King of Israel fifteene yeere.
Amazia aber, der Sohn des Joas, der König von Juda, lebte nach dem Tode des Königs Joas von Israel, des Sohnes des Joahas, noch fünfzehn Jahre lang.
18 Concerning the rest of the actes of Amaziah, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
Was aber Amazias weitere Geschichte betrifft, ist die nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Juda?
19 But they wrought treason against him in Ierusalem, and he fled to Lachish, but they sent after him to Lachish, and slewe him there.
Und sie machten eine Verschwörung wider ihn zu Jerusalem. Er aber floh gen Lachis. Da sandten sie ihm nach gen Lachis und töteten ihn daselbst
20 And they brought him on horses, and he was buried at Ierusalem with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.
und brachten ihn auf Pferden, und er ward begraben in Jerusalem bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids.
21 Then all the people of Iudah tooke Azariah which was sixteene yeere olde, and made him King for his father Amaziah.
Und das ganze Volk Juda nahm Asaria in seinem sechzehnten Lebensjahre und machten ihn zum König an Stelle seines Vaters Amazia.
22 He built Elath, and restored it to Iudah, after that the King slept with his fathers.
Er baute Elat und brachte es wieder an Juda, nachdem der König sich zu seinen Vätern gelegt hatte.
23 In the fifteenth yeere of Amaziah the sonne of Ioash King of Iudah, was Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash made King ouer Israel in Samaria, and reigned one and fourtie yeere.
Im fünfzehnten Jahre Amazias, des Sohnes des Joas, des Königs von Juda, ward Jerobeam, der Sohn des Joas, König über Israel zu Samaria, [und regierte] einundvierzig Jahre lang.
24 And he did euill in the sight of the Lord: for he departed not from all the sinnes of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, which made Israel to sinne.
Er tat aber, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, und ließ nicht ab von allen Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel zur Sünde verführt hatte.
25 He restored the coast of Israel, from the entring of Hamath, vnto the Sea of the wildernesse, according to the worde of the Lord God of Israel, which he spake by his seruant Ionah the sonne of Amittai the Prophet, which was of Gath Hepher.
Dieser eroberte das Gebiet Israels zurück, von Chamat an bis an das Meer der Ebene, nach dem Worte des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, das er geredet hatte durch seinen Knecht Jona, den Sohn Amitais, den Propheten von Gat-Hepher.
26 For the Lord saw the exceeding bitter affliction of Israel, so that there was none shutte vp, nor any left, neyther yet any that could helpe Israel.
Denn der HERR sah das so bittere Elend Israels, daß Mündige und Unmündige dahin waren und es keinen Helfer für Israel gab.
27 Yet the Lord had not decreed to put out the name of Israel from vnder the heauen: therefore he preserued them by the hand of Ieroboam the sonne of Ioash.
Und der HERR hatte nicht gesagt, daß er den Namen Israels unter dem Himmel austilgen wolle; deswegen half er ihnen durch Jerobeam, den Sohn des Joas.
28 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ieroboam, and all that he did, and his valiant deedes, and how he fought, and how he restored Damascus, and Hamath to Iudah in Israel, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
Was aber mehr von Jerobeam zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan, und seine Macht, wie er gestritten und wie er Damaskus und Chamat, die zu Juda gehört hatten, an Israel zurückgebracht hat, ist das nicht geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige von Israel?
29 So Ieroboam slept with his fathers, euen with the Kings of Israel, and Zachariah his sonne reigned in his steade.
Und Jerobeam legte sich zu seinen Vätern, den Königen von Israel. Und Sacharia, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.
