1 If I speak the languages of men, even of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2 And if I have prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Thurchi misîr theina neinunpêk dôn khom ronga; chong inthupngei murdi rietheina le rietnangei nâm dôn khom ronga; muolngei thînpai theina taksônna dôn khom ronga aniatachu lungkhamna ko dôn nônchu, ite ni mu-ung.

3 Even if I give away all my possessions and hand over my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

Inriengngei rangin ko dôn murdi pêk khom inlang, male ka takpum tena khom kâng let rangin ka takpumpui pêk khom inlang, lungkhamna ko dôn nônchu ite a satna om mak.

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy; love does not brag, is not proud,

Lungkhamna chu atuongdiera male moroina adôna; narsa ngâi maka, inpâk ngâi maka, omin-ân tho ngâi maka;

5 is not indecent, is not self-seeking, is not ‘short-fused’, is not malicious;

Lungkhamnân chu omsaloingei tho ngâi maka, ama satna rang rok ngâi mak, a ningthik ngâi mak; dikloinangei mindon tit ngâi mak;

6 it does not take pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

Lungkhamnân chu saloina arâisân ngâi mak, aniatachu, chongdika kêng arâisân ngâi.

7 it bears all, believes all, hopes all, endures all;

Lungkhamnân chu atuong zajâma; a taksônna ngei, a sabeina ngei le atuongtheina ngeia duoi ngâi mak.

8 love never fails. Now as for prophecies, they will be set aside; as for languages, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will be superseded;

Lungkhamna hih kumtuonga om ani. Thurchi misîrnangei hih om khom senla la min mong nîng atih; rietloi chongngeia manboipêkngei hih om khom senla, la mong an tih; rietna hih om khom senla lan mang atih.

9 since we know in part and prophesy in part.

Akiploiin ei rieta akiploiin thurchingei ei misîr ngâia;

10 But whenever the complete should come, then the ‘in part’ will be done away with.

hannirese akipphar hih ajuong tika chu akiploi hih inmang atih zoi.

11 (When I was a small child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; but when I became a man, I put away the things of the child.)

Nâipang ki ni lâihan chu, ko chongngei, ko khorietnangei le ki mindonnangei khom nâi ânpanga; aniatachu atûn chu ulien ki ni zoi sikin nâipang tho ngâi hah chu ka mâk zoi ani.

12 Because now we see blurred images as in a metal mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I also am fully known.

Atûna ei mu hih chu lîmena rimil ânlangdap angin ania; nangkana chu mâi-intongin la mûng ei tih. Atûna ki riet hih chu akiploi ania; nangkana chu kip atih zoi, Pathien'n keima ni rietna akipphar anghan.

13 For now these three obtain: faith, hope, love; and the greatest of these is love.

Mangei inthum: taksôna, sabeina, le lungkhamna ngei hi chu omtit atih; male mangei lâia aroiinpuitak chu lungkhamna hih ani.
