Revelation 10
1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, and a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire.
Puis je vis un autre ange puissant qui descendait du ciel, enveloppé d’un nuage, et l’arc-en-ciel au-dessus de la tête; son visage était comme le soleil, et ses pieds comme des colonnes de feu.
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the earth.
Il tenait à la main un petit livre ouvert; et ayant posé le pied droit sur la mer et le pied gauche sur la terre,
3 And he cried with a loud voice as when a lion roareth. And when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
il cria d’une voix forte, comme rugit un lion; et quand il eut poussé ce cri, les sept tonnerres firent entendre leurs voix.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Seal up the things which the seven thunders have spoken; and write them not.
Après que les sept tonnerres eurent parlé, je me disposais à écrire, mais j’entendis du ciel une voix qui disait: « Scelle ce qu’ont dit les sept tonnerres, ne l’écris point. »
5 And the angel, whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth, lifted up his hand to heaven,
Alors l’ange que j’avais vu debout sur la mer et sur la terre, leva sa main droite vers le ciel,
6 And he swore by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things which are therein; and the earth, and the things which are in it; and the sea, and the things which are therein: That time shall be no longer. (aiōn g165)
et jura par Celui qui vit aux siècles des siècles, qui a créé le ciel et les choses qui y sont, la terre et les choses qui y sont, la mer et les choses qui y sont, qu’il n’y aurait plus de temps, (aiōn g165)
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound the trumpet, the mystery of God shall be finished, as he hath declared by his servants the prophets.
mais qu’aux jours où le septième ange ferait entendre sa voix en sonnant de la trompette, le mystère de Dieu serait consommé, comme il l’a annoncé à ses serviteurs, les prophètes.
8 And I heard a voice from heaven again speaking to me, and saying: Go, and take the book that is open, from the hand of the angel who standeth upon the sea, and upon the earth.
Et la voix que j’avais entendue du ciel, me parla de nouveau et dit: « Va, prends le petit livre ouvert dans la main de l’ange qui se tient debout sur la mer et sur la terre. »
9 And I went to the angel, saying unto him, that he should give me the book. And he said to me: Take the book, and eat it up: and it shall make thy belly bitter, but in thy mouth it shall be sweet as honey.
Et j’allai vers l’ange, et je lui dis de me donner le petit livre. Il me dit: « Prends, et dévore-le; il sera amer à tes entrailles, mais dans ta bouche il sera doux comme du miel. »
10 And I took the book from the hand of the angel, and ate it up: and it was in my mouth, sweet as honey: and when I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Je pris alors le petit livre de la main de l’ange et je le dévorai; et il était dans ma bouche doux comme du miel; mais quand je l’eus dévoré, il me causa de l’amertume dans les entrailles.
11 And he said to me: Thou must prophesy again to many nations, and peoples, and tongues, and kings.
Puis on me dit: « Il faut encore que tu prophétises sur beaucoup de peuples, de nations, de langues et de rois. »
