< Proverbs 15 >
1 A soft answer turneth away fury; but a grievous word stirreth up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of the foolish poureth out folly.

3 The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
Angraeng ih mik loe ahmuen kruekah oh moe, kasae kahoih to khet.
4 Gentleness of tongue is a tree of life; but crookedness therein is a breaking of the spirit.
Kahoih lok kathui palai loe kami ngantuihaih ah oh; toe aling thaih palai loe poekhaih patangkhangsak.
5 A fool despiseth his father's instruction; but he that regardeth reproof becometh prudent.
Kamthu loe ampa thuitaekhaih to patoek; toe palungha kami loe thuitaekhaih lok to tahngaih.
6 In the house of a righteous [man] is much treasure; but in the revenue of a wicked [man] is disturbance.
Katoeng kami ih im ah loe hmuenmae oh mangh; toe kasae kami ih phoisa mah loe raihaih to tacawtsak.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but not so the heart of the foolish.
Palungha kami ih pahni mah palunghahaih to pungsak; toe kamthu ih palung ah loe palunghahaih to om ai.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Kami zae angbawnhaih loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe katoeng kami lawkthuihaih mah Angraeng to anghoesak.
9 The way of a wicked [man] is an abomination to Jehovah; but him that pursueth righteousness he loveth.
Kasae kami ih loklam loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih pakrong kaminawk loe anih mah palung.
10 Grievous correction is for him that forsaketh the path; he that hateth reproof shall die.
Lam amkhraeng kaminawk loe thuitaekhaih to koeh o ai; toe thuitaekhaih hnuma kami loe dueh tih.
11 Sheol and destruction are before Jehovah; how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol )
Hell hoi amrohaih mataeng doeh Angraeng hmaa ah amtueng phaeng nahaeloe, kaminawk ih palung cae loe kawkruk maw amtueng aep tih? (Sheol )
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him; he will not go unto the wise.
Minawk patoek kami loe thuitaek naah palungphui; palungha kami khaeah lokduenghaih to tawn mak ai.
13 A joyful heart maketh a cheerful countenance; but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
Palung anghoe naah mikhmai pan; toe palungset naah loe poekhaih patangkhang.
14 The heart of an intelligent [man] seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish feedeth on folly.
Khopoek thaih palung mah loe palunghahaih to pakrong; toe kamthu ih pakha loe amthuhaih to zok ah amthlam.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; but a cheerful heart is a continual feast.
Amtanghaih tlim ah khosah kaminawk ih aninawk loe sethaih hoiah koi; toe poeknawmhaih loe sak toepsoep ih buhraenghaih poih ah oh.
16 Better is little with the fear of Jehovah than great store and disquietude therewith.
Dawnraihaih hoiah hmuenmae angraeng parai pongah loe, Angraeng zithaih hoiah hmuen zetta tawnh to hoih kue.
17 Better is a meal of herbs where love is, than a fatted ox and hatred therewith.
Kathawk hruk maitaw to boh moe, anghnukmahaih ahmuen ah buhcaak pongah loe, amlunghaih kaom ahmuen ah aan hoiah buhcaak to hoih kue.
18 A furious man stirreth up contention; but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
Palungphuihaih mah ampraekhaih to tacawtsak; toe pauephaih tawn kami loe angzoehhaih to dipsak.
19 The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is made plain.
Thasae kami ih loklam loe soekhring hoiah koi; toe katoeng kami caehhaih loklam loe manglaih lampui ah oh.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
Palungha capa mah ampa to anghoesak; toe kamthu loe amno to hnaphnae.
21 Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding regulateth his walk.
Kamthu loe poekhaih tawn ai kami to kawnh haih; toe palungha kami loe katoengah lamcaeh.
22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
Poekhaih kahoih paek ih om ai ah loe sak atimhaih to amro; toe poekhaih kahoih paek kami pop naah sak atimhaih to cak.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word in its season, how good is it!
Kami loe lokduenghaih pathim naah anghoe; atue nathuem ah apaeh ih lok loe kawkruk maw hoih!
24 The path of life is upwards for the wise, that he may depart from Sheol beneath. (Sheol )
Hell thung hoi loih hanah, palungha kami loe hinghaih loklam bangah caeh tahang. (Sheol )
25 Jehovah plucketh up the house of the proud; but he establisheth the boundary of the widow.
Amoek kami ih im loe Angraeng mah phrae tih; toe lamhmai ih ramri loe caksak tih.
26 The thoughts of the evil [man] are an abomination to Jehovah; but pure words are pleasant.
Kasae kami poekhaih loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe poekciim kaminawk ih poekhaihnawk loe a kawnh pae.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Kamthlai koeh hmoek kami imthung ah raihaih to phak; toe bokhaih tangqum hnuma kami loe hing tih.
28 The heart of a righteous [man] studieth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
Katoeng kami loe lok pathim hanah palung thung hoiah lok to khingh; toe kasae kami ih pakha loe loksae to pathaak.
29 Jehovah is far from the wicked; but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
Kasae kami loe Angraeng mah amhoe taak; toe katoeng kaminawk ih lawkthuihaih lok loe anih mah tahngaih pae.
30 That which enlighteneth the eyes rejoiceth the heart; good tidings make the bones fat.
Mikhmai panhaih mah palung anghoesak; kahoih tamthang mah huhong ngantuisak.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life shall abide among the wise.
Hinghaih paek thaih thuitaekhaih lok tahngai kami loe, palungha kaminawk ohhaih im ah om toeng tih.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth reproof getteth sense.
Thuitaekhaih lok tahngai ai kami loe a hinghaih patoek kami ah oh.
33 The fear of Jehovah is the discipline of wisdom, and before honour [goeth] humility.
Angraeng zithaih loe palungha amtuenghaih ih ni; kami tlim ah khosakhaih loe minawk mah pakoeh ih loklam ah oh.
