Psalms 96

1 When the house was built after the Captivity, a Song of David. Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.

Cantai ao Senhor um cântico novo, cantai ao Senhor toda a terra.

2 Sing to the Lord, bless his name: proclaim his salvation from day to day.

Cantai ao Senhor, bendizei o seu nome; anunciai a sua salvação de dia em dia.

3 Publish his glory amongst the Gentiles, his wonderful works amongst all people.

Anunciai entre as nações a sua glória; entre todos os povos as suas maravilhas.

4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is terrible above all gods.

Porque grande é o Senhor, e digno de louvor, mais tremendo do que todos os deuses.

5 For all the gods of the heathen are devils: but the Lord made the heavens.

Porque todos os deuses dos povos são ídolos, mas o Senhor fez os céus.

6 Thanksgiving and beauty are before him: holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.

Glória e magestade estão ante a sua face, força e formosura no seu santuário.

7 Bring to the Lord, you families of the Gentiles, bring to the Lord glory and honour.

Dai ao Senhor, ó famílias dos povos, dai ao Senhor glória e força.

8 Bring to the Lord the glory [becoming] his name: take offerings, and go into his courts.

Dai ao Senhor a glória devida ao seu nome: trazei oferenda, e entrai nos seus átrios.

9 Worship the Lord in his holy court: let all the earth tremble before him.

Adorai ao Senhor na beleza da santidade: tremei diante dele toda a terra.

10 Say amongst the heathen, The Lord reigns: for he has established the world so that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people in righteousness.

Dizei entre as nações que o Senhor reina: o mundo também se firmará para que se não abale: julgará os povos com retidão.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult; let the sea be moved, and the fullness of it.

Alegrem-se os céus, e regozije-se a terra: brama o mar e a sua plenitude.

12 The plains shall rejoice, and all things in them: then shall all the trees of the wood exult before the presence of the Lord:

Alegre-se o campo com tudo o que há nele: então se regozijarão todas as árvores do bosque,

13 for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth; he shall judge the world in righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Ante a face do Senhor, porque vem, porque vem a julgar a terra: julgará o mundo com justiça e os povos com a sua verdade.
