Psalms 94
1 A Psalm of David for the fourth [day] of the week. The Lord is a God of vengeance; the God of vengeance has declared himself.
Ó Senhor Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, ó Deus, a quem a vingança pertence, mostra-te resplandecente.
2 Be you exalted, you that judge the earth: render a reward to the proud.
Exalta-te, tu, que és juiz da terra: dá a paga aos soberbos.
3 How long shall sinners, O Lord, how long shall sinners boast?
Até quando os ímpios, Senhor, até quando os ímpios saltarão de prazer?
4 They will utter and speak unrighteousness; all the workers of iniquity will speak [so].
Até quando proferirão, e falarão coisas duras, e se glóriarão todos os que obram a iniquidade?
5 They have afflicted your people, O Lord, and hurt your heritage.
Reduzem a pedaços o teu povo, e afligem a tua herança.
6 They have slain the widow and fatherless, and murdered the stranger.
Matam a viúva e o estrangeiro, e ao órfão tiram a vida.
7 And they said, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob understand.
Contudo dizem: O Senhor não o verá; nem para isso atenderá o Deus de Jacob.
8 Understand now, you simple amongst the people; and you fools, at length be wise.
Atendei, ó brutais dentre o povo; e vós, loucos, quando sereis sábios?
9 He that planted the ear, does he not hear? or he that formed the eye, does not he perceive?
Aquele que fez o ouvido não ouvirá? e o que formou o olho não verá?
10 He that chastises the heathen, shall not he punish, [even] he that teaches man knowledge?
Aquele que argue as gentes não castigará? e o que ensina ao homem o conhecimento não saberá?
11 The Lord knows the thoughts of men, that they are vain.
O Senhor conhece os pensamentos do homem, que são vaidade.
12 Blessed is the man whoever you shall chasten, O Lord, and shall teach him out of your law;
Bem-aventurado é o homem aquém tu castigas, ó Senhor, e a quem ensinas a tua lei;
13 to give him rest from evil days, until a pit be digged for the sinful one.
Para lhe dares descanço dos dias maus, até que se abra a cova para o ímpio.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance;
Pois o Senhor não rejeitará o seu povo, nem desamparará a sua herança.
15 until righteousness return to judgement, and all the upright in heart shall follow it. (Pause)
Mas o juízo voltará à retidão, e segui-lo-ão todos os retos do coração.
16 Who will rise up for me against the transgressors? or who will stand up with me against the workers of iniquity?
Quem será por mim contra os malfeitores? quem se porá por mim contra os que obram a iniquidade?
17 If the Lord had not helped me, my soul had almost sojourned in Hades.
Se o Senhor não tivera ido em meu auxílio, a minha alma quase que teria ficado no silêncio.
18 If I said, My foot has been moved;
Quando eu disse: O meu pé vacila; a tua benignidade, Senhor, me susteve.
19 your mercy, O Lord, helped me. O Lord, according to the multitude of my griefs within my heart, your consolation have soothed my soul.
Na multidão dos meus pensamentos dentro de mim, as tuas consolações recrearam a minha alma.
20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by an ordinance?
Porventura o trono de iniquidade te acompanha, o qual forja o mal por uma lei?
21 They will hunt for the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
Eles se ajuntam contra a alma do justo, e condenam o sangue inocente.
22 But the Lord was my refuge; and my God the helper of my hope.
Mas o Senhor é a minha defesa; e o meu Deus é a rocha do meu refúgio.
23 And he will recompense to them their iniquity and their wickedness: the Lord our God shall utterly destroy them.
E trará sobre eles a sua própria iniquidade; e os destruirá na sua própria malícia: o Senhor nosso Deus os destruirá.
