Psalms 26

1 [A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence: and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.

Von David. Schaffe mir Recht, Jahwe, denn in meiner Unschuld habe ich gewandelt und auf Jahwe habe ich vertraut, ohne zu wanken.

2 Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.

Prüfe mich, Jahwe, und versuche mich; durchläutere meine Nieren und mein Herz!

3 For your mercy is before mine eyes: and I am well pleased with your truth.

Denn deine Gnade ist vor meinen Augen, und in deiner Wahrheit habe ich gewandelt.

4 I have not sat with the council of vanity, and will in nowise enter in with transgressors.

Ich saß nicht bei falschen Männern und ging nicht ein zu Versteckten.

5 I have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly [men].

Ich hasse die Versammlung der Bösewichter und bei den Gottlosen sitze ich nicht.

6 I will wash my hands in innocency, and compass your altar, O Lord:

Ich wasche in Unschuld meine Hände, und so laß mich schreiten um deinen Altar, Jahwe,

7 to hear the voice of praise, and to declare all your wonderful works.

daß ich lauten Dank vernehmen lasse und alle deine Wunder erzähle.

8 O Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house, and the place of the tabernacle of your glory.

Jahwe, ich habe lieb die Stätte deines Hauses und den Ort, wo deine Herrlichkeit wohnt.

9 Destroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men:

Raffe meine Seele nicht mit Sündern dahin und mit Blutmenschen mein Leben,

10 in whose hands [are] iniquities, [and] their right hand is filled with bribes.

an deren Händen Schandthat klebt, und deren Rechte voll ist von Bestechung.

11 But I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy upon me.

Ich aber will in meiner Unschuld wandeln; erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!

12 My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless you, O Lord.

Mein Fuß steht auf ebenem Weg. Ich will Jahwe preisen in den Versammlungen!
