< Job 23 >
1 Then Job answered and said,
Na Hiob buaa sɛ,
2 Yes, I know that pleading is out of my reach; and his hand has been made heavy upon my groaning.
“Ɛnnɛ mpo, mʼabooboodie mu da so yɛ den; ne nsa ayɛ den mʼapinisie nyinaa akyi.
3 Who would then know that I might find him, and come to an end [of the matter]?
Sɛ menim baabi a mɛhunu no; anaasɛ mɛtumi akɔ ne tenaberɛ a,
4 And I would plead my own cause, and he would fill my mouth with arguments.
anka mɛka mʼasɛm wɔ nʼanim na magye akyinnyeɛ bebree.
5 And I would know the remedies which he would speak to me, and I would perceive what he would tell me.
Anka mɛte mmuaeɛ a ɔde bɛma me, na madwene deɛ ɔbɛka ho.
6 Though he should come on me in [his] great strength, then he would not threaten me;
Ɔde tumi a ɛso bɛtia me anaa? Dabi, ɔremmɔ me kwaadu.
7 for truth and reproof are from him; and he would bring forth my judgement to an end.
Ɛhɔ deɛ nnipa tenenee bɛtumi aka nʼasɛm wɔ nʼanim, na wɔbɛgye me afiri me ɔtemmufoɔ nsam afebɔɔ.
8 For if I shall go first, and exist no longer, still what do I know [concerning] the latter end?
“Nanso sɛ mekɔ apueeɛ fam a, ɔnni hɔ; sɛ mekɔ atɔeɛ fam nso a, menhunu no.
9 When he wrought on the left hand, then I observed [it] not: his right hand shall encompass me but I shall not see [it].
Sɛ ɔreyɛ adwuma wɔ atifi fam a, menhunu no; sɛ ɔdane ne ho kɔ anafoɔ fam a, mʼani nhye ne ho.
10 For he knows already my way; and he has tried me as gold.
Nanso, ɔnim ɛkwan a me nam soɔ; na sɛ ɔsɔ me hwɛ a, mɛfiri mu aba sɛ sikakɔkɔɔ.
11 And I will go forth according to his commandments, for I have kept his ways; and I shall not turn aside from his commandments,
Madi nʼanammɔn akyi pɛɛ; na manante nʼakwan so a mammane.
12 neither shall I transgress; but I have hid his words in my bosom.
Mentwee me ho mfirii mmaransɛm a ɛfiri nʼanom ho, mama asɛm a ɛfiri nʼanom ho ahia me asene me daa aduane.
13 And if too he has thus judged, who is he that has contradicted, for he has both willed [a thing] and done it.
“Nanso ɔbiara nni hɔ ka ne ho, na hwan na ɔbɛtumi atia no? Ɔyɛ biribiara a ɔpɛ.
Ɔhwɛ ma ne ɔhyɛ nsɛm tia me; ɔda so kora nhyehyɛeɛ a ɛte sei bebree.
15 Therefore am I troubled at him; and when I was reproved, I thought of him. Therefore let me take good heed before him: I will consider, and be afraid of him.
Ɛno enti na mebɔ hu wɔ nʼanim; na sɛ medwene yeinom nyinaa ho a, mesuro no.
16 But the Lord has softened my heart, and the Almighty has troubled me.
Onyankopɔn ama mʼakoma aboto; Otumfoɔ ama mabɔ huboa.
17 For I knew not that darkness would come upon me, and thick darkness has covered [me] before my face.
Nanso esum no mma menka mʼano ntom, esum kabii a ɛkata mʼanim no mpo.
