< Proverbs 22 >

1 A good name is more desirable than great riches; favor is better than silver and gold.
Aleo ho tsara laza toy izay ho be harena, Ary tsara ny fitia noho ny volafotsy sy ny volamena.
2 The rich and the poor have this in common: The LORD is Maker of them all.
Mihaona ny manan-karena sy ny malahelo; Fa Jehovah no Mpanao azy roa tonta.
3 The prudent see danger and take cover, but the simple keep going and suffer the consequences.
Ny mahira-tsaina mahatsinjo ny loza ka miery; Fa ny kely saina kosa mandroso ka voa.
4 The rewards of humility and the fear of the LORD are wealth and honor and life.
Ny valin’ ny fanetren-tena sy ny fahatahorana an’ i Jehovah Dia harena sy voninahitra ary fiainana.
5 Thorns and snares lie on the path of the perverse; he who guards his soul stays far from them.
Tsilo sy fandrika no amin’ ny alehan’ ny maditra; Fa izay te-hiaro ny ainy dia manalavitra izany.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
Zaro amin’ izay lalana tokony halehany ny zaza, Ka na rehefa antitra aza izy, dia tsy hiala amin’ izany.
7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
Ny manan-karena dia manapaka ny malahelo, Ary izay misambotra dia mpanompon’ ny mampisambotra.
8 He who sows injustice will reap disaster, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
Izay mamafy heloka dia hijinja fahoriana, Ary ho levona ny tsorakazon’ ny fahatezerany.
9 A generous man will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.
Izay manana maso miantra hotahina, Satria anomezany ho an’ ny malahelo ny haniny.
10 Drive out the mocker, and conflict will depart; even quarreling and insults will cease.
Roahy ny mpaniratsira, dia ho afaka ny fifandirana, Eny, hitsahatra ny ady sy ny fahafaham-baraka.
11 He who loves a pure heart and gracious lips will have the king for a friend.
Izay tia fahadiovam-po, dia milaza soa ny molony. Sady sakaizan’ ny mpanjaka izy.
12 The LORD’s eyes keep watch over knowledge, but He frustrates the words of the faithless.
Ny mason’ i Jehovah miaro ny manam-pahalalana; Fa ny tenin’ ny mpivadika dia foanany.
13 The slacker says, “There is a lion outside! I will be slain in the streets!”
Hoy ny malaina: Misy liona any ivelany; Ho fatin’ ny sasany any an-dalambe aho.
14 The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; he who is under the wrath of the LORD will fall into it.
Ny vavan’ ny vehivavy jejo dia lavaka lalina; Izay voaozon’ i Jehovah no ho latsaka ao.
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
Miraikitra amin’ ny fon’ ny zaza ny hadalana; Fa ny tsorakazo famaizana no hampanalavitra izany aminy.
16 Oppressing the poor to enrich oneself or giving gifts to the rich will surely lead to poverty.
Izay mampahory ny malahelo dia mampitombo ny hareny; Fa izay manome ho an’ ny manana kosa dia mampihena ny hareny.
17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise— apply your mind to my knowledge—
Atongilano ny sofinao, ka henoy ny tenin’ ny hendry, Ary ampitandremo ny fahalalako ny fonao;
18 for it is pleasing when you keep them within you and they are constantly on your lips.
Fa mahafinaritra raha voatahirinao ao an-kibonao izany, Koa aoka samy ho eo amin’ ny molotrao.
19 So that your trust may be in the LORD, I instruct you today—yes, you.
Hianao dia ianao no nampahafantariko izany, Mba hitokianao amin’ i Jehovah.
20 Have I not written for you thirty sayings about counsel and knowledge,
Tsy efa nanoratra zava-tsoa ho anao va aho, Izay misy hevitra tsara sy fahalalana,
21 to show you true and reliable words, that you may soundly answer those who sent you?
Mba hampahafantariko ny fahamarinan’ ny teny mahatoky ianao, Sy hahazoanao teny holazaina amin’ izay naniraka anao?
22 Do not rob a poor man because he is poor, and do not crush the afflicted at the gate,
Aza manosihosy ny malahelo, saingy malahelo izy; Ary aza dia manifakifa ny ory eo am-bavahady;
23 for the LORD will take up their case and will plunder those who rob them.
Fa Jehovah anie ka hisolo vava azy amin’ ny adiny. Ary hanimba ny ain’ izay manimba azy.
24 Do not make friends with an angry man, and do not associate with a hot-tempered man,
Aza misakaiza amin’ ny olona mora tezitra, Ary aza miara-dia amin’ ny olona foizina,
25 or you may learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
Fandrao ianao mianatra ny fanaony Ka mahazo fandrika ho an’ ny ainao.
26 Do not be one who gives pledges, who puts up security for debts.
Aza mety ho isan’ ny mifandray tanana, Na izay mianto-trosa;
27 If you have nothing with which to pay, why should your bed be taken from under you?
Raha tsy manan-kaloa ianao, Nahoana no dia halainy ny lafika andrianao?
28 Do not move an ancient boundary stone which your fathers have placed.
Aza manakisaka ny fari-tany ela, Izay naorin’ ny razanao.
29 Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will be stationed in the presence of kings; he will not stand before obscure men.
Mahita olona mailaka amin’ ny raharahany va ianao? Eo anatrehan’ ny mpanjaka no hitsanganany, Fa tsy hitsangana eo anatrehan’ ny olona ambany izy.
