Psalms 59
1 For the Chief Musician; [set to] Al-tashheth. [A Psalm] of David. Michtam; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: Set me on high from them that rise up against me.
Salmo “Mictão” de Davi, para o regente, conforme “Altachete”, quando Saul enviou pessoas para vigiarem sua casa e o matarem: Livra-me de meus inimigos, ó Deus meu; protege-me dos que se levantam contra mim.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, And save me from the bloodthirsty men.
Livra-me dos que praticam perversidade, e salva-me dos homens sanguinários;
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.
Porque eis que eles põem ciladas à minha alma; fortes se juntam contra mim; [ainda que] eu não tenha cometido transgressão nem pecado, ó SENHOR.
4 They run and prepare themselves without [my] fault: Awake thou to help me, and behold.
Eles correm sem [eu ter] culpa; desperta para me encontrar, e olha.
5 Even thou, O Jehovah God of hosts, the God of Israel, Arise to visit all the nations: Be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. (Selah)
Tu, SENHOR, Deus dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, desperta para julgar a todas estas nações; não tenhas misericórdia de nenhum dos enganadores que praticam perversidade. (Selá)
6 They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And go round about the city.
Eles voltam ao anoitecer, latem como cães, e rodeiam a cidade.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; Swords are in their lips: For who, [say they], doth hear?
Eis que vomitam com as bocas deles, seus lábios [são como] espadas; porque [dizem]: Quem ouve?
8 But thou, O Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; Thou wilt have all the nations in derision.
Porém tu, SENHOR, rirás deles; zombarás de todas as nações.
9 [Because of] his strength I will give heed unto thee; For God is my high tower.
[Por causa] de sua força, eu te aguardarei; porque Deus é o meu refúgio.
10 My God with his lovingkindness will meet me: God will let me see [my desire] upon mine enemies.
O Deus que tem bondade para comigo me antecederá; Deus me fará ver [o fim] dos meus inimigos.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: Scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
Não os mates, para que meu povo não se esqueça; faze-os fugir de um lado para o outro pelo teu poder, e abate-os; ó Senhor, escudo nosso;
12 [For] the sin of their mouth, [and] the words of their lips, Let them even be taken in their pride, And for cursing and lying which they speak.
[Por causa do] pecado da boca deles [e da] palavra de seus lábios; e sejam presos em sua arrogância pelas maldições e pelas mentiras que contam.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, so that they shall be no more: And let them know that God ruleth in Jacob, Unto the ends of the earth. (Selah)
Destrói [-os] em [tua] ira; destrói [-os] para que nunca mais existam; para que saibam que Deus governa em Jacó até os limites da terra. (Selá)
14 And at evening let them return, let them howl like a dog, And go round about the city.
Eles voltam ao anoitecer, latem como cães, e rodeiam a cidade.
15 They shall wander up and down for food, And tarry all night if they be not satisfied.
Andam de um lado para o outro por comida, e rosnam se não estiverem saciados.
16 But I will sing of thy strength; Yea, I will sing aloud of thy lovingkindness in the morning: For thou hast been my high tower, And a refuge in the day of my distress.
Mas eu cantarei [sobre] tua força; e pela manhã com alegria louvarei tua bondade; porque tu tens sido meu alto refúgio e abrigo no dia da minha angústia.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing praises: For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.
Cantarei louvores a ti, [que és] minha força; porque Deus é o meu refúgio, ó Deus de bondade para comigo.
