Psalms 35
1 Strive thou, O Jehovah, with those who strive with me. Fight thou against those who fight against me.
Von David. / Bestreite, Jahwe, meine Bestreiter, / Bekriege, die mich bekriegen!
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help.
Ergreife Schild und Tartsche, / Steh auf, um mir zu helfen!
3 Draw out the spear also, and stop the way against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, I am thy salvation.
Zücke den Speer und die Axt wider meine Verfolger, / Sprich zu meiner Seele: "Ich helfe dir!"
4 Let them be put to shame and brought to dishonor who seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and confounded who devise my hurt.
Schande und Schmach mögen ernten, / Die mir nach dem Leben trachten; / Zurückweichen und erröten müssen, / Die auf mein Unglück sinnen!
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, and the agent of Jehovah driving them on.
Sie seien wie Spreu vor dem Winde, / Und Jahwes Engel stoße sie weg!
6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and the agent of Jehovah pursuing them.
Ihr Weg sei finster und schlüpfrig, / Und Jahwes Engel verfolge sie!
7 For without cause they have hid their net for me in a pit. Without cause they have dug a pit for my soul.
Denn sie haben ihr Netz mir ohn Ursach gelegt, / Ohn Ursach mir eine Grube gegraben.
8 Let destruction come upon him unawares, and let his net that he has hid catch himself. Let him fall in it with destruction.
Verderben treffe ihn, eh er's meint, / Ihn fange das Netz, das er heimlich gestellt! / Er falle hinein und verderbe!
9 And my soul shall be joyful in Jehovah. It shall rejoice in his salvation.
Dann wird meine Seele in Jahwe sich freun, / Ob seiner Hilfe frohlocken.
10 All my bones shall say, Jehovah, who is like thee, who delivers a poor man from him who is too strong for him, yea, a poor and needy man from him who robs him?
Es sagen all meine Gebeine: "Wer gleicht dir, o Jahwe? / Du rettest den Armen aus des Stärkern Hand, / Den Armen und Dürftigen von seinem Räuber."
11 Unrighteous witnesses rise up, they ask me of things that I know not.
Falsche Zeugen erheben sich, / Sie fragen nach Dingen, die ich nicht weiß;
12 They reward me evil for good, to the bereaving of my soul.
Sie vergelten mir Böses für Gutes. / Wie bin ich allein und verlassen!
13 But as for me, when they were sick my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned into my own bosom.
Ich aber, waren sie krank, trug Trauerkleider, / Machte mich müde mit Fasten / Und betete gesenkten Haupts.
14 I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as he who bewails his mother.
Als wär er mein Freund, mein Bruder, so (leidvoll) ging ich einher; / Wie um meine Mutter trauernd, so war ich gebeugt von Schmerz.
15 But in my adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together. The wretches gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not. They tore me, and ceased not.
Nun aber bei meinem Sturze freuen sie sich und treten zusammen, / Es rotten sich wider mich Wichte, die ich nicht kannte; / Sie lästern und hören damit nicht auf.
16 Like the profane mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.
Wie Ruchlose Possenreißer / Fletschen sie wider mich ihre Zähne.
17 Lord, how long will thou look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.
O Herr, wie lange noch willst du es ansehn? / Schütze mein Leben vor ihrem Verderben, / Entreiß meine Seele den jungen Löwen!
18 I will give thee thanks in the great assembly. I will praise thee among much people.
Ich will dich preisen in großer Gemeinde, / Unter zahlreichem Volke dich rühmen.
19 Let not those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me. Neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.
Laß sich nicht über mich freun, die mir grundlos feind sind, / Laß nicht, die mich ohn Ursach hassen, mein hämisch spotten!
20 For they speak not peace, but they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.
Denn sie reden nicht, was zum Frieden dient, / Nein, gegen die Stillen im Lande ersinnen sie Trug.
21 Yea, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said, Aha, aha, our eye has seen it.
Sie reißen den Mund weit auf wider mich, / Sie rufen: "Ei, ei, nun sehen wir's ja!"
22 Thou have seen it, O Jehovah. Keep not silence. O Lord, be not far from me.
Du siehst es, Jahwe, drum schweige nicht! / O Herr, sei nicht ferne von mir!
23 Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice to me, to my cause, my God and my Lord.
Wach auf, wach auf und schaffe mir Recht! / Mein Gott, mein Herr, tritt du für mich ein!
24 Judge me, O Jehovah my God, according to thy righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
Schaff Recht mir nach deiner Gerechtigkeit, o Jahwe, mein Gott! / Sie sollen ja nicht über mich frohlocken.
25 Let them not say in their heart, Aha, so would we have it. Let them not say, We have swallowed him up.
Sie sollen nicht denken: "Ei, nun ist's erreicht!" / Nicht glauben: "Jetzt haben wir ihn vernichtet."
26 Let them be put to shame and confounded together who rejoice at my hurt. Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves against me.
Beschämt und enttäuscht müssen alle werden, / Die sich meines Unglücks freun. / Es müssen sich hüllen in Schande und Schmach, / Die sich stolz wider mich erheben.
27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, who favor my righteous cause. Yea, let them say continually, Jehovah be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Laß jubeln und jauchzen, die mir gönnen mein Recht! / Laß sie allzeit sprechen: "Jahwe ist groß, / Der das Heil seines Knechtes begehret!"
28 And my tongue shall talk of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Meine Zunge soll deine Gerechtigkeit preisen, / Fort und fort deinen Ruhm verkünden.
