Psalms 21

1 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Jehovah. And in thy salvation how greatly he shall rejoice!

O rei se alegra em tua força, Senhor; e na tua salvação grandemente se regozija.

2 Thou have given him his heart's desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah)

Cumpriste-lhe o desejo do seu coração, e não negaste as suplicas dos seus lábios (Selah)

3 For thou meet him with the blessings of goodness. Thou set a crown of fine gold on his head.

Pois o prevines das bençãos de bondade; pões na sua cabeça uma coroa de ouro fino

4 He asked life from thee. Thou gave it him, even length of days forever and ever.

Vida te pediu, e lha deste, mesmo longura de dias para sempre e eternamente.

5 His glory is great in thy salvation. Honor and majesty thou do lay upon him.

Grande é a sua glória pela tua salvação; glória e magestade puseste sobre ele.

6 For thou make him most blessed forever. Thou make him glad with joy in thy presence.

Pois o abençoaste para sempre: tu o enches de gozo com a tua face.

7 For the king trusts in Jehovah. And through the loving kindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.

Porque o rei confia no Senhor, e pela misericórdia do altíssimo nunca vacilará.

8 Thy hand will find out all thine enemies. Thy right hand will find out those who hate thee.

A tua mão alcançará todos os teus inimigos, a tua mão direita alcançará aqueles que te aborrecem.

9 Thou will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of thine anger. Jehovah will swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

Tu os farás como um forno de fogo no tempo da tua ira; o Senhor os devorará na sua indignação, e o fogo os consumirá.

10 Thou will destroy their fruit from the earth, and their seed from among the sons of men.

Seu fruto destruirás da terra, e a sua semente dentre os filhos dos homens.

11 For they intended evil against thee. They conceived a device which they are not able to perform.

Porque intentaram o mal contra ti; maquinaram uma trapaça, mas não prevalecerão.

12 For thou will make them turn their back. Thou will make ready with thy bowstrings against their face.

Portanto tu lhes farás voltar as costas; e com tuas flechas postas nas cordas lhes apontarás ao rosto.

13 Be thou exalted, O Jehovah, in thy strength. We will sing and praise thy power.

Exalta-te, Senhor, na tua força; então cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.
