Sešli se pak všickni synové jeho, a všecky dcery jeho, aby ho těšili. Ale on nedal se potěšiti, a řekl: Nýbrž já tak v zámutku sstoupím za synem svým do hrobu. A plakal ho otec jeho. (Sheol h7585)
And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down to Sheol to my son mourning. And his father wept for him. (Sheol h7585)

And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if harm befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Vezmete-li i tohoto ode mne, a přišlo by na něj něco zlého, tedy uvedete šediny mé s trápením do hrobu. (Sheol h7585)

Přijde na to, když uzří, že pacholete není, umře; a uvedou služebníci tvoji šediny služebníka tvého, otce svého, s žalostí do hrobu. (Sheol h7585)
it will come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not [with us], that he will die: and thy servants will bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Pakliť něco nového učiní Hospodin, a země, otevra ústa svá, požře je se vším, což mají, a sstoupí-li za živa do pekla, tedy poznáte, že jsou popouzeli muži ti Hospodina. (Sheol h7585)
But if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then ye shall understand that these men have despised Jehovah. (Sheol h7585)
A tak sstoupili oni se vším, což měli, za živa do pekla, a přikryla je země; i zahynuli z prostředku shromáždění. (Sheol h7585)
So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly. (Sheol h7585)
Nebo oheň zápalen jest v prchlivosti mé, a hořeti bude až do nejhlubšího pekla, a sžíře zemi i úrody její, a zapálí základy hor. (Sheol h7585)
For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest Sheol, And devoureth the earth with its increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)
Hospodin umrtvuje i obživuje, uvodí do pekla i vyvodí. (Sheol h7585)
Jehovah killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to Sheol, and bringeth up. (Sheol h7585)
Bolesti smrtelné obstoupily mne, a osídla smrti zachvátila mne. (Sheol h7585)

Protož zachováš se podlé moudrosti své, a nedáš sstoupiti šedinám jeho v pokoji do hrobu. (Sheol h7585)
Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to Sheol in peace. (Sheol h7585)
Nyní však neodpouštěj jemu. A poněvadž jsi muž opatrný, víš, jak bys k němu přistoupiti měl, abys uvedl šediny jeho se krví do hrobu. (Sheol h7585)
Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man; and thou wilt know what thou oughtest to do unto him, and thou shalt bring his hoar head down to Sheol with blood. (Sheol h7585)

Do skrýší hrobu sstoupí, poněvadž jest všechněm v prachu země odpočívati. (Sheol h7585)
It shall go down to the bars of Sheol, When once there is rest in the dust. (Sheol h7585)
Tráví v štěstí dny své, a v okamžení do hrobu sstupují. (Sheol h7585)
They spend their days in prosperity, And in a moment they go down to Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Jako sucho a horko uchvacuje vody sněžné, tak hrob ty, jenž hřešili. (Sheol h7585)
Drought and heat consume the snow waters: [So doth] Sheol [those that] have sinned. (Sheol h7585)
Odkryta jest propast před ním, i zahynutí není zakryto. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol is naked before [God], And Abaddon hath no covering. (Sheol h7585)
Nebo mrtví nezpomínají na tebe, a v hrobě kdo tě bude oslavovati? (Sheol h7585)
For in death there is no remembrance of thee: In Sheol who shall give thee thanks? (Sheol h7585)

The wicked shall be turned back unto Sheol, Even all the nations that forget God. (Sheol h7585)
Nebo nenecháš duše mé v pekle, aniž dopustíš svatému svému viděti porušení. (Sheol h7585)
For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Bylyť jsou mne obklíčily bolesti hrobu, osídla smrti zachvátila mne. (Sheol h7585)

Hospodine, ať nejsem zahanben, nebo jsem tě vzýval; nechať jsou zahanbeni bezbožníci, a skroceni v pekle. (Sheol h7585)
Let me not be put to shame, O Jehovah; for I have called upon thee: Let the wicked be put to shame, let them be silent in Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Jako hovada v pekle skladeni budou, smrt je žráti bude, ale upřímí panovati budou nad nimi v jitře; způsob pak oněchno aby zvetšel, z příbytku svého octnou se v hrobě. (Sheol h7585)
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd: And the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be for Sheol to consume, That there be no habitation for it. (Sheol h7585)

Ó by je smrt náhle přikvačila, tak aby za živa sstoupiti musili do pekla; nebo jest nešlechetnost v příbytcích jejich a u prostřed nich. (Sheol h7585)

Poněvadž milosrdenství tvé veliké jest nade mnou, a vytrhls duši mou z jámy nejhlubší. (Sheol h7585)
For great is thy lovingkindness toward me; And thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Neboť jest naplněna trápeními duše má, a život můj až k hrobu se přiblížil. (Sheol h7585)

Sheol and Abaddon are before Jehovah; How much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol h7585)
Cesta života vysoko jest rozumnému proto, aby se uchýlil od pekla dole. (Sheol h7585)
To the wise the way of life [goeth] upward, That he may depart from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
Ty metlou jej mrskávej, a tak duši jeho z pekla vytrhneš. (Sheol h7585)

Propast a zahynutí nebývají nasyceni, tak oči člověka nasytiti se nemohou. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; And the eyes of man are never satisfied. (Sheol h7585)
Peklo a život neplodné, země též nebývá nasycena vodou, a oheň neříká: Dosti. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol; and the barren womb; The earth that is not satisfied with water; And the fire that saith not, Enough. (Sheol h7585)
Všecko, což by před se vzala ruka tvá k činění, podlé možnosti své konej; nebo není práce ani důmyslu ani umění ani moudrosti v hrobě, do něhož se béřeš. (Sheol h7585)
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest. (Sheol h7585)
Položiž mne jako pečet na srdce své, jako pečetní prsten na ruku svou. Nebo silné jest jako smrt milování, tvrdá jako hrob horlivost; uhlí její uhlí řeřavé, plamen nejprudší. (Sheol h7585)
Set me as a seal upon thy heart, As a seal upon thine arm: For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as Sheol; The flashes thereof are flashes of fire, A very flame of Jehovah. (Sheol h7585)
Pročež rozšířilo i peklo hrdlo své, a rozedřelo nad míru ústa svá, i sstoupí do něho slavní její a množství její, i hluk její, i ti, kteříž se veselí v ní. (Sheol h7585)
Therefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend [into it]. (Sheol h7585)

Ask thee a sign of Jehovah thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. (Sheol h7585)
I peklo zespod zbouřilo se pro tebe, k vyjití vstříc přicházejícímu tobě vzbudilo pro tě mrtvé, všecka knížata země; kázalo vyvstati z stolic jejich i všechněm králům národů. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming; it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
Svrženať jest do pekla pýcha tvá, i zvuk hudebných nástrojů tvých; moli tobě podestláno, a červi tě přikrývají. (Sheol h7585)
Thy pomp is brought down to Sheol, [and] the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and worms cover thee. (Sheol h7585)
A ty pak stržen jsi až do pekla, pryč na stranu do jámy. (Sheol h7585)
Yet thou shalt be brought down to Sheol, to the uttermost parts of the pit. (Sheol h7585)
Proto že říkáte: Učinili jsme smlouvu s smrtí, a s peklem máme srozumění, pomsta rozvodnilá, ač přecházeti bude, nepřijde na nás, jakžkoli jsme položili svod za útočiště své, a pod falší jsme se ukryli: (Sheol h7585)
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: (Sheol h7585)
A tak zrušena bude smlouva vašes smrtí, a srozumění vaše s peklem neostojí; a když přecházeti bude pomsta rozvodnilá, budete od ní pošlapáni. (Sheol h7585)
And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
Jáť jsem byl řekl v přestřižení dnů svých, že vejdu do bran hrobu, zbaven budu ostatku let svých. (Sheol h7585)
I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol: I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol h7585)
Nebo ne hrob oslavuje tebe, ani smrt tě chválí, aniž očekávají ti, jenž do jámy sstupují, pravdy tvé. (Sheol h7585)
For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: They that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. (Sheol h7585)
Chodíš i k králi s olejem, a s mnohými vonnými mastmi svými; posíláš zajisté posly své daleko, a ponižuješ se až do hrobu. (Sheol h7585)
And thou wentest to the king with oil, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thine ambassadors far off, and didst debase thyself even unto Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Toho dne, v kterýž on sstoupil do hrobu, přivedl jsem k kvílení, a přikryl jsem příčinou jeho propast, a zadržel jsem potoky její, aby se zastavily vody mnohé, a učinil jsem, aby smutek nesl příčinou jeho Libán, a všecko dříví polní příčinou jeho aby umdlelo. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the rivers thereof; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol h7585)

I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with them that descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the nether parts of the earth. (Sheol h7585)

And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, that are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and have laid their swords under their heads, and their iniquities are upon their bones; for [they were] the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. Z ruky hrobu vyplatím je, od smrti vykoupím je; budu zhoubcím tvým, ó smrti, budu zkažením tvým, ó hrobe, želení skryto bude od očí mých. (Sheol h7585)

Ovšem pak více opilec, nešlechetnost a pýchu provodě, neostojí v příbytku; kterýž rozšiřuje jako peklo duši svou, jest jako smrt, kteráž se nemůže nasytiti, byť pak shromáždil k sobě všecky národy, a shrnul k sobě všecky lidi. (Sheol h7585)
Yea, moreover, wine is treacherous, a haughty man, that keepeth not at home; who enlargeth his desire as Sheol, and he is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all peoples. (Sheol h7585)
