< Mark 1 >

1 Cathut Capa Jisuh Khrih e kamthang lawk a kamtawngnae teh het telah doeh ao.
THE beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
2 Ca karuem dawk Isaiah ni a thut e teh, khenhaw! Na cei nahane lamthung ka rasoun hanelah patoune ka patoun han.
as it is written in the prophets; “Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, he shall prepare thy way before thee.
3 Kahrawngum vah hramkhai e lawk teh, Cathut a tho nahane lamthung rasoun awh. A lamthungnaw palan awh, ati e patetlah,
The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths strait.”
4 Jawhan teh kahrawngum vah tui dawk baptisma a poe teh, yon ngaithoum nahanelah, pankângainae baptisma kamthang dei hanelah a tho.
John was baptising in the wilderness, and preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
5 Jerusalem kho thung e taminaw pueng koehoi a kamtawng teh Judah ram e tami pueng teh Jawhan koe a tho awh teh, amamae a yon a pâpho awh teh, Jordan tui dawkvah, tui baptisma a coe awh.
And all the country of Judea went out to him, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptised by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.
6 Jawhan teh Kalauk muen hoi kawng e angki a kho teh, a keng dawk phaivuen taisawm a kâyeng teh, samtong hoi kahrawng e khoitui hah a canei.
Now John was clothed with a camel’s hair garment, and a girdle of leather about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
7 A hramkhai e teh, kai hlak hno ka sak thai e tami teh ka hnukkhu lah a tho. Ahnie khokkhawmrui tabut vaiteh rasu hane boehai ka kamcu hoeh.
And he preached, saying, One mightier than I is coming after me, the string of whose shoes I am not worthy, stooping down, to unloose.
8 Kai ni teh nangmanaw hah tui dawk baptisma na poe awh. Ahni ni teh nangmanaw hah Kathoung Muitha hoi baptisma na poe awh han telah a hramkhai.
I indeed baptise you with water; but he shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost.
9 Hatnavah, Jisuh teh Galilee ram Nazareth kho hoi a tho teh, Jawhan ni Jordan palang vah tui baptisma a poe.
And it came to pass in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptised of John in Jordan.
10 Tui dawk hoi bout a thaw navah kalvan a kamawng teh Muitha teh âbakhu patetlah Jisuh dawk a cu.
And immediately on going up from the water, he saw the heavens divided by a chasm, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him:
11 Nang teh Kai ni ka pahren poung e, ka lungkuep poung e ka Capa doeh telah kalvan hoi lawk a tho.
and a voice came from heaven, Thou art my beloved Son, in thee I am well pleased.
12 Hathnukkhu Muitha ni Jisuh teh kahrawngum tang a cei sak.
And immediately the Spirit impelled him to go into the wilderness.
13 A hnin 40 touh kahrawngum vah ao teh, Setan e tacueknae a kâhmo. Sarangnaw hoi cungtalah ao awh teh, kalvantaminaw ni Bawipa teh a khetyawt awh.
And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministred unto him.
14 Jawhan teh thongim thung a pha hnukkhu vah, Jisuh teh Galilee ram lah a cei. Cathut uknaeram kamthang hah a pâpho.
But after John was delivered up, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God:
15 Atueng a pha toe. Cathut uknaeram teh a hnai toe. Pankângai awh leih. Kamthang kahawi teh yuem awh leih, telah a pathang.
and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draweth nigh: repent, and believe the gospel.
16 Galilee tuipui teng a cei navah, Simon hoi a nawngha Andru tanga ka heng roi e hah a hmu. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh roi teh tangakamankungnaw lah ao roi.
And as he walked near the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
17 Jisuh ni ahnimouh roi hanlah, ka hnukkâbang leih, tami kamankung lah na sak roi han atipouh teh,
And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will appoint you to be fishers of men:
18 Ahnimouh roi ni a tamlawknaw a ceitakhai awh teh, a hnuk tang a kâbang roi.
and immediately leaving their nets, they followed him.
19 Haw hoi dongdeng a cei nah, Zebedee e capa roi Jem hoi Jawhan teh long dawk tamlawk a cip roi e hah a hmu.
And going from thence a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, and others in the vessel mending the nets.
20 Ahnimouh roi hai tang a kaw. Ahnimouh roi ni long dawk kaawm e, a hlai e taminaw hoi a na pa Zebedee hah a ceitakhai teh a hnuk a kâbang roi.
And immediately he called them: and leaving their father Zebedee in the vessel with the hirelings, they went after him.
21 Hahoi, Kapernuam kho a cei awh teh, sabbath hnin vah sinakok a kâen teh a cangkhai.
And they entered into Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath going into the synagogue, he taught.
22 Cakathutkungnaw patetlah laipalah, kâtawnnae lahoi a cangkhai dawkvah, rangpuinaw ni a cangkhainae hah kângai lah a ru awh.
And they were struck with astonishment at his doctrine; for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Ahnimae Sinakok thungvah, kakhine muitha ni a man e tami buet touh ao.
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 Nazareth tami Jisuh, kaimouh hoi bangtelamaw na kâseng vaw. Kaimanaw raphoe hanelah maw na tho vaw. Nang hah apimaw tie hai na panue. Cathut e kathounge tami lah na o ati teh a hramki.
saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
25 Jisuh ni kahraikathout hah, lawkkamuem awmh, hote tami thung hoi tâcawt titeh a yue.
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent, and come out of him.
26 Kakhine muitha niyah, hote tami hah a pâyaw sak teh, a hramki laihoi a tâco takhai.
And the unclean spirit threw him into convulsions, and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Taminaw pueng kângairu awh teh, hno tithainae hoi cangkhainae a katha e heh bangtelah nama aw. Kakhine muithanaw hai kâtawnnae lahoi kâ a poe teh, ahnimouh ni hai a lawk a ngai pouh bo aw telah buet touh hoi buet touh a kâpankhai awh.
And they were all in astonishment, so that they questioned one another, saying, What is this? what is this new doctrine? that with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him?
28 Hettelah hoi, Jisuh e kamthang teh Galilee ram kho tangkuem vah, karang poung lah a kamthang.
And there went out a report of him immediately into all the region of Galilee round about.
29 Sinakok hoi a tâco awh teh Jem hoi Jawhan ti hoi Simon hoi Andru im vah a cei awh.
Then straitway going out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 Simon e a masei napui a pataw teh, sut a yan e hah Jisuh koe karanglah a thaisak awh.
But Simon’s wife’s mother lay in a fever, and immediately they informed him of her.
31 Jisuh ni ahni koe a cei teh, a kut dawk a kuet teh a pathaw. A pathaw tahma a tak a dam dawkvah, ahnimanaw hah a khetyawt.
And he came and raised her up, and the fever left her immediately, and she waited upon them.
32 Kanî a khup hnukkhu tangmin vah, a tak ka dam hoeh e naw hoi kahraikathout ni a man e naw teh ama koevah a thokhai awh.
But when the evening was come, after the sun was set, they brought unto him all that had illnesses, and the demoniacs.
33 Kho thung e taminaw pueng teh takhang koe a kamkhueng awh.
And the whole city was gathered together about the door;
34 Aphunphun lah ka pataw e naw hah a dam sak teh kahraituilinaw hai a pâlei. Kahrainaw ni Jisuh teh a panue awh dawkvah, Jisuh ni ahnimanaw lawk kam touh boehai dei sak hoeh.
and he healed many who were grievously afflicted with a variety of diseases; and he cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak for they knew him.
35 Atangtho amom khodai hoehnahlan vah, Jisuh teh kahrawngum vah a cei teh, a ratoum.
And very early (the night being far advanced towards morning) rising up, he went forth, and retired into a desert place, and there prayed.
36 Simon hoi a huinaw ni Jisuh teh a tawng awh.
And Simon, and those who were with him, eagerly pursued him;
37 Jisuh ma a kâhmo awh toteh taminaw pueng ni na tawng awh kaima atipouh awh.
and when they had found him, they say unto him, All men are inquiring after thee.
38 Jisuh ni a tengpam e khonaw pueng koe, phung dei hanlah cet a sei, hot hane doeh kai teh ka tho telah a hnukkâbangnaw koe atipouh.
And he said unto them, Let us go into the neighbouring towns, that I may preach there also; for unto this purpose came I forth.
39 Hatdawkvah, Galilee kho kaawm e sinakoknaw dawkvah phung a dei teh kahraituilinaw a pâlei.
And he was preaching in their synagogues, through all Galilee, and casting out devils.
40 Ka hrikbei e tami buet touh teh Jisuh koe a tho, a khokcuengkhuem teh, na ngainae lah awm pawiteh kai hah na thoungsak haw telah pahrennae a hei.
And there came to him a leper, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 Jisuh ni a pahren dawkvah, a kut hoi a tek teh, oe ka ngainae a o, thoung lawih, atipouh.
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretching out his hand, touched him, and said to him, I will; be thou cleansed.
42 Telah a dei pouh tahma vah, hrikbei patawnae a dam teh a thoung.
And as he spake, the leprosy instantly departed from him, and he was cleansed.
43 Jisuh ni, nang kâhruetcuet.
And giving him a strict charge, he immediately sent him away;
44 Hete kong heh api koehai khoeroe dei pouh hanh lah a. Vaihmanaw koe cet nateh na tak kâpâtueh. Ayânaw ni na dam toe tie a panue awh nahanelah, Mosi ni kâ poe e patetlah lawkpanuesaknae hah sak leih, ati pouh teh a cei sak.
and said to him, Take care, that thou speak not a word to any man: but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy purification, what Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
45 Hatei hote tami ni, pâphat laipalah hoehoe a dei dawkvah, peng a kamthang. Hatdawkvah, Bawipa Jisuh teh kho thungvah kâen thai laipalah, kho alawilah kingdinae hmuen koevah ama dueng ao teh, ahni koevah a tho awh.
But he going out, began to proclaim it much, and to publish abroad an account of it, so that he could no more openly come into the city; but was without in desert places; and they came to him from all parts of the country.
