1 Tami kahlout lah kai kaawm hoeh namaw. Guncei lah kaawm hoeh na maw. Maimae Bawipa Jisuh Khrih teh ka hmawt boihoeh namaw. Nangmouh teh Bawipa dawk kai ni ka tawk e thaw lah na awm awh hoeh namaw.
Am not free? Am I not an apostle? Jesus our Lord, have I not seen? Are not, ye, my work, in the Lord?
2 Alouknaw koe guncei lah kaawm hoeh nakunghai, nangmouh koe guncei lah ka o. Bangkongtetpawiteh, Bawipa dawk nangmouh teh kai guncei lah ka onae kapanuekkhaikung lah na o awh.
If, unto others, I am not an apostle, certainly at least, unto you, I am; for, the seal of my apostleship, ye, are in the Lord.
3 Kai akung kakheinaw koe hettelah na dei pouh awh.
My defence, unto them who are examining me, is this:
4 Ca thai, nei thainae kâ ka tawn awh hoeh na maw.
Have we not a right to eat and drink?
5 Piter hoi Bawipa e hmaunawnghanaw koehoi alouke gunceinaw patetlah ka yuem e yu hah hrawi thai hoeh na maw.
Have we not a right to take round, a sister wife, —as even the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
6 Barnabas hoi kai teh thaw tawk hanlah awmhoeh na ti awh bo ma.
Or have, only I and Barnabas, not a right to forbear working?
7 Apimaw mae lamvon hoi ransa thaw ka tawk. Apimaw misur takha ka sak ni teh cat laipalah kaawm. Apimaw tu ka khoum ni teh sanutui net laipalah kaawm.
Who serveth as a soldier, at his own charges, at any time? Who planteth a vineyard, —and, the fruit thereof, doth not eat? [Or] who shepherdeth a flock, —and, of the milk of the flock, doth not eat?
8 Talai hmunae lahoi ka dei e na ou. Kâlawk ni hai telah doeh a dei.
Is it, after the manner of men, that these things I am saying? Or doth not, even the law, the same things, say?
9 Mosi e cangkhainae dawk telah a thut. Cabong katin e maito a pahni moum pouh hanh. Cathut ni a dei ngainae teh maito hane doeh na ti maw.
For, in the law of Moses, it is written—Thou shalt not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the corn: —Is it, for the oxen, God is caring?
10 Hoehpawiteh maimouh hanelah maw a dei. Atangcalah maimouh hane doeh a dei. Bangkongtetpawiteh law ka sak nihai, ngaihawi laihoi a sak dawkvah, katin e ni hai ngaihawi laihoi a katin van.
Or, for our sakes altogether, is he saying it? For our sakes, it was written; because, he that ploweth, ought, to plow, in hope, —and, he that thresheth, [to thresh] in hope of partaking.
11 Kaimouh ni nangmouh dawk muitha cati ka patûe a dawk nangmouh koehoi talai hnopai ka coe awh e heh ka tapuet awh e na maw.
If, we, unto you, the things of the Spirit have sown, is it a great matter, if, we, of you, the things of the flesh shall reap?
12 Alouknaw ni patenghai nangmouh koe e coe awh pawiteh, kaimouh te hoe kapap coe hanlah kamcu hoeh namaw. Hatei, hnotithainae ka hno awh hoeh. Khrih kamthang kahawi kangangkung lah ao hoeh nahan bangpueng dawk ka panguep awh.
If, others, of this right, over you, are partaking, [should] not rather, we? nevertheless, we used not this right; but, all [such] things, do we conceal, —lest we should cause any hindrance unto the glad message of the Christ.
13 A thaw katawknaw ni bawkim dawk e rawca a ca awh teh, thuengnae kasaknaw ni khoungroe dawk e a canei awh tie na panuek awh hoeh maw.
Know ye not that, they who labour in the holy rites, do eat the provisions out of the holy place? They who at the altar wait, do, with the altar, share?
14 Hot patetvanlah, kamthang kahawi kadeinaw hai kamthang kahawi pâpho e lahoi kâkawk awh han telah Bawipa e kâ poe doeh.
Thus, also, hath the Lord, appointed—that, they who the glad message tell, should, of the glad-message, live.
15 Hatei, hete heh ka hno awh hoeh. Nangmouh ni kaimouh koe hettelah na sak awh nahanlah ka thut e nahoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, kâoupnae heh alouknaw ni a raphoe hlak teh kadout pawiteh bet ahawihnawn.
I, however, have not used any of these things; and have not written these things, in order that, so it should be done, in my case; for it were, good for me, rather to die than——my boast, shall, no man, make void!
16 Kai teh kamthang kahawi ka pâpho nakunghai kâoupkhai hane awmhoeh. Pâpho laipalah kaawm thai hoeh. Pâpho laipalah kaawm pawiteh yawthoenae doeh.
For, if I be telling the glad-message, it is, with me, no matter of boasting; for, necessity, upon me, lieth, —for it is, Woe to me, if I should not be telling the glad-message;
17 Thahmeicalah hoi kamthang kahawi ka pâpho pawiteh aphu ao. Thahmeicalah hoi ka pâpho hoehpawiteh kai koe na poe lah kaawm e ka pâpho rumram e la doeh awm ti.
For, if, by choice, this thing I am doing, I have, a reward; but, if not by choice, with a stewardship, have I been entrusted!
18 Pawiteh, kaie tawkphu teh bangmaw, kamthang kahawi ka pâpho e ayawm doeh. Hatdawkvah kâtawnnae ka hno hoeh. Khrih e kamthang kahawi kathainaw ni aphu pâbaw laipalah awm pawiteh kai han aphu ao.
What, then, is my reward? that, in telling the glad-message, free of cost, I should put the glad-message, —to the end I should not use to the full my right in the glad-message.
19 Kai teh tami pueng e hmalah kahlout e lah ka o ei, tami hoe kapap ka la thai nahanelah, tami pueng e san lah ka o.
For, though free from all, unto all, myself, I enslaved, —that, the larger number, I might win:
20 Judahnaw ka la thai nahan, Judahnaw koe Judah tami patetlah ka o. Kâlawk rahim kaawm hoeh ei, kâlawk rahim kaawm naw ka la thai nahan, kâlawk rahim kaawm naw koe, kâlawk rahim kaawm e patetlah ka o.
Therefore became I, to the Jews, as, a Jew, —that, Jews, I might win; to them who were under law, as, under law, not being, myself, under law, —that, them who were under law, I might win;
21 Kai teh kâlawk hoi kahlat e nahoeh. Khrih e kâlawk rahim ka o ei, kâlawk hoi kâhlat e taminaw ka la thai nahanelah, kâlawk hoi kâhlatnaw koe kâlawk hoi kâhlat e patetlah ka o.
To them who were without law, as, without law, —not being without law to God, but lawfully subject to Christ, —that I might win them who were without law.
22 Tha kayounnaw ka la thai nahan, a thakayounnaw koe a tha kayoun e patetlah ka o. Tami tangawn ka rungngang thai nahan, tami pueng koe aphunphun lah ka o.
I became, unto the weak, weak, —that, the weak, I might win; —to all men, have I become all things, that, by all means, some, I might save.
23 Nangmouh hoi kamthang kahawi rei hmawng thai nahan, kamthang kahawi kecu hottelah ka onae doeh.
But, all things, am I doing, for the sake of the glad-message, that a joint-partaker thereof, I may become.
24 Yawng kâtânae koe a yawng awh ei, buet touh ni dueng doeh suh a hmu tie na panuek awh hoeh maw. Suh rip na hmu thai awh nahanlah yawng awh.
Know ye not that, they who, in a racecourse, run, all, indeed, run, —but, one, receiveth the prize? So, be running, that ye may lay hold.
25 Kâtânae dawk kâen e ni teh bangpueng radueknae a kâcakuep thai. Ahnimanaw teh kamyai thai e bawilukhung hmu hane dawk tha a patung awh. Maimanaw teh, kamyai kamko thai hoeh e bawilukhung hmu hanlah tha patung awh.
But, every man who striveth in the games, in all things, useth self-control; —they, indeed, then, that a corruptible crown, they may receive; but, we, an incorruptible!
26 Hatdawkvah, noenae awm laipalah ka yawng hoeh, kahlî dawk ka thaw rumram hoeh.
I, therefore, so, am running, as, not uncertainly, so, am boxing, as not thrashing air;
27 Ayâ ka yue teh kama ka sung e lah ka o hoeh nahanelah, kamahoima hmaloe ka kâthaw.
But am beating my body under, and leading it captive, lest, by any means, —unto others, having proclaimed, [the contest], I myself, should be rejected.
