1 Jerub-baal (Gideon tina) leh asepaite matah in athouvun Herod tuinah chan geiyin ache tauvin ahi. Midian sepaite chu amaho sahlang Moreh lhang komma phaichamma ngahmun ana kisem un ahi.
Then Jerubbaal, the same, is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and encamped by the fountain of Harod, —and, the camp of Midian, was on the north of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the vale.
2 Pakaiyin Gideon komma aseijin, “Nangin galsat ding mi natam pui behseh e. Keiman nabonchauvin Midiante gal nasatsah’u leng, Israel miten keiho thahatna'a kakihuhdoh u ahi, tin Keima dounan hung kiletsah get’un nate,
And Yahweh said unto Gideon, Too many, are the people that are with thee, for me to deliver the Midianites into their hand, —lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand, hath saved me.
3 Hijeh chun mipite jah achun koi hileh kichatna neiho sesen hiche mol hi dalhau henlang aincheh uva che taohen tin seipeh in,” ati. Hitichun alah uva sangsomni le sangni chu inlanga acheuvin, galsat ding ngapcha a mi sangsom bou adalha tauvin ahi.
Now, therefore, proclaim, I pray thee, in the ears of the people, saying, Whoso feareth and trembleth—let him turn and go back from Mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty-two thousand, and, ten thousand, remained.
4 Ahin Pakaiyin Gideon aseipeh kit’in, “Tunjong atambehseh nalaiye hijeh chun donding twikhuh a puisuh inlang hiche munna chn keiman nache khompi ding hole nache khompi louding miho kahi lhenkhen ding ahi,” ati.
Then said Yahweh unto Gideon—Yet, are the people too many, take them down unto the waters, that I may prove them for thee, there, —and it shall be, that, he of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall go with thee, the same, shall go with thee, and, every one of whom I say unto thee, This one, shall not go with thee, the same, shall not go.
5 Gideon mipiho chu twikhuh phunga apuisuh phatnin Pakaiyin hitin ahi seipeh in ahi, “Mipi hochu loi-ni in hom khen inlang loikhat chu akhut nia twi soh a uicha banga aleija le tho ho hiding, loikhat chu akhupma dilsua amuh a chiptho ho hiding ahi,” ati.
So he took down the people unto the waters, —and Yahweh said unto Gideon—Every one that lappeth with his tongue of the water, as a dog lappeth, thou shalt set him by himself, likewise, every one that boweth down upon his knees, to drink.
6 Mi jathum’in bou akhut tenia kon in adontho uvin ahi. Adang sechun akhupmin adilsu uvin amuh in achip thou vin ahi.
And so it was, that, the number of them that lapped with their hand to their mouth, was three hundred men, —but, all the rest of the people, bowed down on their knees, to drink water.
7 Pakaiyin Gideon kommah ahin seijin, “Hiche mi jathum hohi kipui’in Keiman nahuhdoh ingting Midian hochu naga joding’u ahi, midang ho jouse chu ainlang cheh uva sultan,” ati.
Then said Yahweh unto Gideon—By the three hundred men that lapped, will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thy hand; and let, all [the rest of] the people, go every man to his own place.
8 Hijeh chun Gideonin midangho nehleh chah chuleh saki sumkon apoh houchu achomkhom’in, hitichun adangho sechu ainlanga asoltan ahi. Amavang mi jathum bouseh chutoh aumtan ahi. Midian hochun Gideon umna noi phaichamma chun ngahmun asem tauvin ahi.
So the people took provisions in their hand, and their horns, but, every man of Israel besides, sent he away every man to his home, whereas, the three hundred men, he retained. Now, the camp of Midian, was beneath him in the vale.
9 Hiche jan chun Pakaiyin hitin aseije, “Kipatnin lang Midian ngahmunna gachesuh in, ajeh chu amaho chunga hi galjona kamusah ding nahi!
And it came to pass, on that night, that Yahweh said unto him, Arise! go down against the camp, —for I have delivered it into thy hand.
10 Ahinlah amaho gasat inghy nakichat’a ahileh nalhacha Purah chu kipuijin angahmun uvah gachesuh lhonnin,
Or, if, thou, art afraid to go down, go down—thou and Purah thy young man, unto the camp;
11 Midianten ipi aseijuvam ga ngailhi lechun nangma nakitilkhou chomlheh ding ahi, hiteng chuleh nangin amaho gasat dingchu ngapcha tan nate,” ati. Hijeh chun Gideonin Purah chu akipuijin galmiho ngahmun komcha achun achesuh lhontan ahi.
so shalt thou hear what they shall say, —and, afterward, shall thy hands grow strong, and thou shalt go down against the camp. Then went he down, he and Purah his young man, unto the outmost part of the armed men that were in the camp.
12 Midian mite le Amalek mite chuleh solam mite epia hochu hiche phaichamma chun khaokhote alomchang lah bangin atam atam anapansauvin ahi. Asangan houjong chu twikhanglen panga neldi jat bangin simma simjoulou jat anaphauvin ahi.
Now, the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the sons of the east, were lying along in the vale, like locusts for multitude, —their camels also, were without number, as the sand that is by the sea side, for multitude.
13 Alah uva mikhat chun aloipa kommah amang ahinseijin ahileh Gideon chun hichu ajahphah nading in agah kithol lut in ahi. Hichepa chun hitin ahin seije, “Keiman mangkhat kana neijin kamang’a chun sakol chaang a kisem changlhah lumkhat Midiante ponbuh geiyin ahung kilih suhpeh’in, hichun ponbuh hi ahin tat-khan akhup athallin akileh jengin chujouvin akiphamat deh jengin ahi!” ati.
And Gideon came in, and lo! a man relating to his neighbour a dream, —and he said—Lo! a dream, have I dreamt, and lo! a round cake of barley bread tumbling into the camp of Midian, and it came as far as the tent—and smote it that it fell, and turned it upside down, and the tent lay along.
14 Hichun aloipa chun hitin adonbutnin, “Namangchun thilkhat adoi aume Pathen’in Israel mi Joash chapa Gideon hi Midian mite le apankhompi hojouse chung’a hi galjona apeh ahitai!” ati.
Then responded his neighbour and said: —Nothing else, is this, than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, a man of Israel, —God hath delivered into his hand, both Midian and all the host.
15 Gideon in hiche mangle akiledohna thucheng chu jah phatnin Pakai ang’a abohkhup in chibai abohtan ahi. Hiche jouchun Israel te ngahmun’ah ahung kilekit in kho asamtan ahi, “Kipatdoh un Pakaiyin Midian mite le akiloikhompi chengse chung’a hi galjona eipeh u ahitai!” ati.
And it was so, when Gideon heard the story of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he bowed himself down, —and returned unto the camp of Israel, and said—Arise! for Yahweh hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
16 Hitichun Gideonin a epia jathum chu loi thum'in ahomin mikhatcheh chu saki sumkon khatcheh leh leibel khat cheh asunga meisel umcheh toh apetha in ahi.
And he divided the three hundred men, into three companies, —and put horns into the hands of them all, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers.
17 Hichejou chun Gideonin ajah uvah hitin aseije, “Namit teniuvin keiman neihinve jingun, amaho ngahmun kom kalhun tengleh keiman kabol bol hinbollun,
Then he said unto them, On me, shall ye look, and, in like manner, shall ye do, —and lo! when I am coming unto the outermost part of the camp, then shall it be, that, as I do, so, shall ye do.
18 Kei le kalhonpi kaloihon saki sumkon kahin mut tenguleh, ngahmun kimvel jousea kona nanghon jong sumkon nahin mutsoh keiyuva nahoh diu, ‘Pakai ding le Gideon din’ tin hinsam cheh un!” ati.
When I shall blow with the horn, I and all who are with me, then shall, ye also, round about all the camp, blow with your horns, and shall say, For Yahweh and for Gideon!
19 Jan khangkim jou panmun ngahho kikheljou pettah chun Gibeon leh aloi mi jakhat chu Midiante ngahmun komcha chu agalhung tauvin ahi. Photlot tah’in amahon saki sumkon chu amut un leibel chu avokeh tauvin ahi.
So Gideon came, and the hundred men that were with him, unto the outermost part of the camp, at the beginning of the middle watch, they had but, newly set, the watchers, —and they blew with the horns, and brake in pieces the pitchers, that were in their hand.
20 Hiche jouchun loithum ho cheng chun asumkon cheh u amut’un aleibel cheh u jong avokeh tauvin ahi. Amahon ameisellu kong leiloi chu akhut veilammin achoijun chuleh jetlangin asumkon uchu achoijun ahoh cheh un, “Pakai chemjam dingleh Gideon dingin” tin hasap in asam un ahi.
Yea the three companies blew with the horns, and shivered the pitchers, and caught hold—with their left hands—of the torches, while, in their right hands, were the horns, to blow with, —and they cried, A sword for Yahweh, and for Gideon!
21 Ngahmun kimvella chun abonchauvin ama ama dinmun cheh a chun dettah in adingun ahileh, Midian mite chu tijatah'in apentoh akatoh ajamtoh atho tauvin ahi.
And they stood still, every man in his place, round about the camp, —and all the host ran and shouted, and fled.
22 Israel mi jathum’in saki sumkon chu amutcheh phat’un Pakaiyin ngahmun sunga um galsat dia kigong mi hochu achemjam un amahole amaho akisatto sah tan ahi. Akisat lihlou chengse chu Zererah kom Beth-shittah changeileh Tabbath kom Abel-meholah gamgi geijin ajamlut tauvin ahi.
When the three hundred blew the horns, Yahweh set the sword of every man, against his neighbour, and against all the host, —and the host fled, as far as the Place of Acacias, towards Zererath, as far as the border of Abel-meholah, by Tabbath.
23 Hijouchun Gideonin, Nephtali le Asher chuleh Manasseh sepaiho akoukhomin Midian mite gal jamho chu adelpeh un ahi.
And the men of Israel were called together, out of Naphtali and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, —and pursued Midian.
24 Gideonin Ephraim thinglhang gamsung muntinna thupole ho asollin hiti hin aga seisah in ahi, “Hung konsuh unlang Midiante hung satnun Beth-barah mun Jordan vadung paltan namun nah amahohi hungting tan’un,” ati. Hijeh chun Ephraim mite jousen akisei bangin atongdoh soh keijun ahi.
And, messengers, did Gideon send through all the hill country of Ephraim, saying—Go down to meet Midian, and capture, before them, the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan. So all the men of Ephraim were called out, and captured the waters, as far as Beth-barah, and the Jordan.
25 Amahon, Midian mite gal lamkaiteni Oreb le Zeeb chu amannun, Oreb chu Oreb songpi munnah athatnun chuleh Zeeb chu Zeeb lengpithei hehna munnah athatnun ahi. Chuleh Midiante chu ana nung adelpeh peh’un ahi. Hiche jouchun Israel ten Oreb leh Zeeb luchang teni chu Jordan vadung gal lama Gideon kommah chun ahinpo lut un ahi.
And they captured the two princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb, and slew Oreb at Oreb’s Rock, and, Zeeb, they slew at Zeeb’s Winepress, and pursued Midian, —and, the heads of Oreb and Zeeb, brought they in unto Gideon at the ford of the Jordan.
