Then sang Deborah, and Barak, son of Abinoam, —on that day, saying: —
2 “Israel lamkai hon alamkaiyun chule mipin kipah tah in anung’u ajuiyun, Pakai chu thangvah in umhen!
For the leadership of leaders in Israel, For the volunteering of the people, —Bless ye Yahweh!
3 “Leng teho ngaitem un! Nangho vaihom mithupiho phaten ngaitem uvin! Keiman Pakai thangvahna la kasah ding, Pakai Israel Pathen koma tumging tumpum’a keiman la kasah ding ahi.
Hear, ye kings! Give ear, ye princes! I, unto Yahweh, —I, will sing, Will make melody to Yahweh, God of Israel.
4 “Pakai nangma Sier muna kon nahung kipatdoh a Edom phai nahin lonkhup chun, leiset pumpi akithing jeng in, chule vanlai jola meilhang jeng jong ajunlhan, gotwi juh’in ahung julha jeng in ahi.
O Yahweh! When thou didst come forth out of Seir, When thou didst march along out of the field of Edom, Earth, trembled, Heaven also, poured forth, —Yea, dark clouds, poured forth waters;
5 Pakai Sinai mol Pathen chu nahung kilandoh phat in, mol hochu Israel Pakai, Pathen masang ah apohkeh jeng in ahi.
From, mountains, came down streams In presence of Yahweh, —From this Sinai, In presence of Yahweh, God of Israel.
6 Anath chapa Shamgar nikholai leh Jael nikho laijin mipiten lamlen jeng jong apelun, kholjin ho jeng in jong lampellang ajotjji tauve.
In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the roads were forsaken, —and, the frequenters of highways, betook them to roundabout paths:
7 Israel te minu banga Deborah ahung kipat tokah chun Israel thinglhang khoho’a mihem themkhat bou ana kidalha tan ahi.
There was a failure of rulers, in Israel, a failure, —until I arose, a Deborah, arose, a mother in Israel: —
8 Israel ten pathen thah thahho ahin kilhen phat nun khopi kelkot phungho’a gal ahung pohjal jengin ahi. Ahinlah Israel galmi sang-somli ho lah a chun tengchale lum hin kipatna akimudoh pon ahi.
They chose gods that were new, Then, —war at the gates! Was there, a shield, to be seen? or a spear? among forty thousand in Israel?
9 Kalungthim pumpihi Israel gal lamkai galsat dinga hung kipedoh hochung achengin ahi. Pakai chu thangvah in umhen!
My heart [saith] —for the governors of Israel, for the volunteers among the people, Bless ye Yahweh!
10 “Nangho sangan hoitah tah chunga kampol pon hoitah tah toupha-a lhaiho leh lamlen dunga vahlehon ngaito uvin!
Ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit on carpets, and ye that walk upon the road, speak!
11 Thinglhang’a la a sathem tahtah ho tuilonlhah na vadung panghoa akikhom’un Pakai chonphatna galjona loupitah tah asamphong uve. Hiche jouchun Pakai mipiten khopi kelkotphung lang jonnin ahung konsuh tauve.
In the place of the noise of bowmen among the wells, there, laud ye—the righteous acts of Yahweh, the righteous acts of his rule over Israel. Then, had come down to the gates the people of Yahweh.
12 “Thouvin Deborah thouvin! Thouvin, thouvin la saovin! Thovin Barak! Abinoam chapa nagal hing mat ho hinkaijin!
Awake! awake! Deborah, Awake! awake! utter words of song, —Arise! Barak, and bind fast thy captives, O son of Abinoam!

Then, came down a remnant to the nobles—a people, —Yahweh, came down with me against the mighty.
14 Amalek mite’a konna kilah peh Ephraim ma kon in ahung suh un Benjamin nangma le nasepaite nahin juijuve. Makir a kon in gallamkai ho ahungsuh uva Zebullun na kon in gallam kaiho manchahchoi ho ahungun ahi.
Out of Ephraim, [came down] they whose root was in Amalek, After thee, Benjamin, among thy tribes, —Out of Machir, had come down governors, And, out of Zebulun, such as bear aloft the staff of the marshal;
15 Issachar-a leng chapate chu Deborah leh Barak lam’ah apangun ahi. Amahon Barak ahinjui un phaicham langa ahung lhailut un ahi. Ahinla Reuben phungsung’a vang lungkhat ahitheipouve.
And, my princes in Issachar, were with Deborah, yea, Issachar, was the support of Barak, Into the vale rushed they forth at his feet. Among the divisions of Reuben, great were the resolves of the heart:
16 Ibola nangho kelngoi hon holah a nomsatah a natouthim uva kelngoi chingho saisip sapchu namoh ngai ngai uham? Ahinla Reuben phung sunga vang kilungkhatna aneithei pouve.
Wherefore abodes thou among the folds? To hear the mocking of the flocks? The divisions of Reuben, had great counsellings of heart.
17 Gilead vang Jordan solamma aumden tan chule Dan chu ipi dinga inmunna umnalai ham? Asher vang twikhanglen panga kongkai munna achengden tan ahi.
Gilead, beyond the Jordan, took his rest, but, Dan, wherefore remained he with the ships? Asher, abode by the shore of the seas, and, by his creeks, must needs rest.
18 Ahinlah Zebulun vang Naphtali teho bolbang’in galkisat khoh laitah a chun ahinkhou phal ngam’in pan alauvin ahi.
Zebulun—a people that scorned their souls unto death; and, Naphtali, —upon the heights of the field.
19 Canaan lengte ahungun Megiddo twinah phung komma chun Taanach munnah gal asatnin imacha alemlo pon ahi.
On came kings, they fought, Then, fought the kings of Canaan, In Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo, —Plunder of silver, they took not away!
20 Chunga ahsiten vanna kon in gal asatnin, ahsiten akikhai khumnao munna kon in Sisera dounan gal ahin sat’un ahi.
From heaven, was the battle fought, —The stars in their courses, fought against Sisera.
21 Kishon vadungin alhohmang gamtaove. Kishon kiti golluilaija tuihattah chutoh kalhagao hangsantah in kijotkhom lhontan.
The torrent of Kishon, swept them away, the torrent of olden times, the torrent of Kishon! Let my soul march along, with victorious strength!
22 Hiche jouchun sakol kengin leiset achon in, Sesira sakol thupitah chu akinunkho jing jengin ahi.
Then, stamped hoofs of horses, With the gallopings, gallopings of his mighty steeds.
23 ‘Meroz mite chu sapsetna changhen,’ tin Pakai Vantil ten aseije nasatah in sapsetna changuhen tin asam’un ahi, ajeh chu amaho galsat hattah hotoh kisatto dingin Pakai langa pang dinga ahung pouvin ahi.
Curse ye Meroz, saith the messenger of Yahweh, Curse ye with a curse, the inhabitants thereof, —because they came not in to the help of Yahweh, to the help of Yahweh, against the mighty.
24 Numei lah a phatthei chang chungnung Ken mi Kaber jinu Jael ahi, amanu hi numei ponbuh sung’a chengho jouse lah a nunnom penhen,
Blessed above women, shall be Jael, wife of Heber the Kenite, —Above women in the tent, be blessed:
25 Sisera in twi anathum’in ahileh aman bongnoi anadon sah e. Mithupi tahho peh dinga kilom khonna chun, bongnoi ha tuitah achoipeh e.
Water, he asked, Milk, she gave, —In a bowl for nobles, presented cream:
26 Hiche jouchun akhut veilamma ponbuh thih hemkhat achoijin chule akhut jet lamma natohna sehcha chu achoijin hiche sehcha chun Sisera chu akhennin, aluchang akhenchip tai. Aman hakhetnin akhennin achalpang chu akhen lhumtai.
Her hand, to the tent-pin, put she forth, and, her right hand, to the toilers’ mallet, —Then smote she Sisera, She shattered his head, Yea she split open and pierced through his temples:
27 Ama alhulhop jengin, amanu kengphang komma chun akijam jengin chuleh alhuh lhopna-achun athi dentai.
Between her feet, he bowed—he fell, he lay, —Between her feet, he bowed—he fell, Where he bowed, There, he fell—destroyed!
28 Bangkotna kon chun Sisera nu ahung khodah in, hiche bangkotna konchun achapa hung kileding chu galdot jing pummin hitin aseije, “I-atile tugeijahi sakol kangtalai chu hung kilelouva ham? Itidan'a sakol kangtalai khogin tugeija kijalouva ham?” ati.
Through the window, looked out and shrilly cried, The mother of Sisera, through the lattice, —Why is his chariot ashamed to come? Why delay the wheels of his chariot?
29 Numei ching theitah kilhamonna thucheng hi navel vellin hiche thucheng hin amale ama akidonbut’in ahi.
The wise ladies, her princesses, responded, —Nay! she, returned answer to, herself: —
30 Amaho hi ahin athilchomdoh uchu kihom uvah hiuvinte, numei khatle ni pasal khat cheh changun te, Sisera dingin ponjem hoitah tah gong’un tin, chule ponjem hoitah a kikhong keidingin jong hin gong’un te ati. Akichomdoh ho lah a chu alangtoa ponjem hoitah tah a kikhong ho jong jao ding ahinai.
Is it not They keep finding—dividing spoil, One damsel, two damsels, to every several hero, Spoil, of divers coloured raiment for Sisera, Spoil, of divers coloured raiment, embroidered, Coloured raiment richly embroidered, on the necks of them who are taken as spoil?
31 Pakai, nagalmite ho jouse Sisera te bangin thina toh cheh-uhen! Amavang nangma ngailu jouse chu nisa bangin thanei tah’in khangtou jing taohen!” Hitichun gamsunga kum 40 geijin chamna ana ummin ahi.
So, perish all thine enemies, O Yahweh, But be, they who love him, as the going forth of the sun, in his might! And the land had rest forty years.
