< Job 5 >

1 Na kithopi ding kou temin mikhat beh in nahin donbut na dem? Vantil ho koipen in nahin kithopi ding ham?
Do but call: is there one that will answer thee? and to whom of the saints wilt thou turn thyself?
2 Tahbeh in lung hanna hin mingol asuhmang jia chule thangsetna in chihna neilou ho asumang ji'e.
For vexation will prove death to a foolish man, and jealousy will slay the simple.
3 Keiman mingol ho chomkhat kahsung alolhin nao kamui ahinla vangset na chun hetman louvin alhunkhum jitai.
I have myself seen the foolish taking root; but I suddenly held his habitation as accursed.
4 Achateo jong ajong ajellin gamsa chonin achonun amaho dingin panpina agamlan ahi, ahuhdoh diu umlouvin thutanna munna amehgoi jiuve.
His children are far from help, and men crush them in the gate, with no one to deliver them.
5 Achang chu lingleh khauva akium jeng vang'in agilkel ten avallhum peh un, agou chu adangchah ten hai hot hot in adel uve.
[He it is] whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber snatcheth eagerly after their substance.
6 Thilse hi leivui lah a konna hungput doh ahipoi chule hahsatna hi leisetna konna hung dondoh ahipoi.
For wrong doth not come forth out of the dust, neither doth trouble grow up out of the ground;
7 Meilah a konna meisi chunglanga lengtou dinga gotsa aum banga mihem tehi ahahsa ding monga penga ahi.
But man is born unto trouble, as young birds take up their flight.
8 Keihi nang chu hileng Pathen koma cheng ting chule kachung chang thu ama koma kase lhah ding ahi.
I, however, would have besought God, and unto God would I have committed my cause;
9 Aman thil oupe tah hetdoh jou hoi hilou ajat sim joulou thil kidang aboldoh e.
Who doth great things which are unsearchable, marvelous things till they are without number;
10 Aman leiset chunga go ajuh sah jin, chule loulaija jong twi alonsah soh keije.
Who giveth rain upon the surface of the earth, and sendeth out waters over the face of the fields;
11 Aman mivaichate khantouna apen chule genthei hesoh thohte ahuhdoh ji'e.
To set up the lowly on high, that those who mourn may rise high to happiness;
12 Athil gonu asuh nohphah peh in, hijeh chun akhut uva atoh jouseu amolso joulou diu ahi.
[But] who frustrateth the plans of the crafty, so that their hands cannot execute their well-devised counsel;
13 Miching ho chu aki chihsah nauva amang jin hijeh chun aduha thuh nauva athil gonnu asuhbei pehji tai.
Who catcheth the wise in their own craftiness; and the advise of the perverse is hastened on headlong;
14 Amahon sun laijin muthim atoh khauvin sunkim laijin amaho chu janlai bangin aki mai le leuve.
By day they meet with darkness, and as though it were night they grope about in the noon of day;
15 Mikam hatte a konin mi vaichate ahuhdoh jin chule mithahat ten atuhchah kheh hou jong amaho a konin ahuhdoh ji'e.
But who saveth from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty, the needy one:
16 Chule hiche ho a chun achaina leh mivaichan kinepna aneiyin, chule mihahem te kam jong ahuhbit jin ahi.
And so cometh to the indigent hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
17 Ahinla Pathen in asuhdih ho kipana khu ngaito temin, nachonset tengleh Hatchungung pan nahilna khu don louvin koi hih in.
Behold, happy is the man whom God admonisheth: despise then not the correction of the Almighty.
18 Aman amavo jin chule boljong aboldam jin aman ajep jin ahinla akhut in asudam kitjin ahi.
For he it is that woundeth, and bindeth up: he smiteth, and his hands do heal.
19 Vangsetna gupma konin nahuhdoh intin asagi veina teng jongleh thilse akonin nahoi doh inte.
In six distresses will he deliver thee; and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 Kellhah lai jongle thina akonin nahuhdoh intin gallai jongleh chemjama konin nahuh doh inte.
In famine he redeemeth thee from death; and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Misuminse nom te akonin hung hoidoh in natin chule manthahna ahung lhun teng kicha tapon nate.
Against the scourge of the tongue shall thou he hidden; and thou needest not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 Manthah nale kel alhah teng nangin nanuisat ding gamlah a gamsa jouse nagin louding ahitai.
At destruction and famine canst thou laugh; and thou needest not have any fear of the beasts of the earth.
23 Nangma gam lah a songho toh lungmong tah a naum khoma chule gamlah a gamsa ho toh lungmonga nalhat khom diu ahitai.
For with the stones of the field shalt thou have thy covenant; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 Nachenna nain abitne ti nakihetna, nanei nagou ho nagavet teng imacha akiholmo umlou ding ahi.
And thou shalt know that there is peace in thy tent; and thou wilt look over thy habitation, and shalt miss nothing.
25 Nangin chate tamtah neijin natin, nason nachilhahte hampa banga hung tam diu ahi.
And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thy offspring as the herbage of the earth.
26 Nateh teng lhankhuh hin jonin natin, aphat cha changpholla changpal kichom khom nahung bah ding ahi.
Thon wilt go in a ripe age unto the grave, as a shock of corn is carried home in its season.
27 Keihon hinkho hi kakhol uvin, chule hichehi dih din kamu doh uve, kahilna hi ngaijin chule nangma tah a dingin mangchan.
Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is: hear it, and do thou note it well for thyself.
