There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 Anih taw a ipkhui kaw boeih ing Khawsa kqih unawh amik bawk thlangkhqi na awm uhy; ak voet ak hlauh thlangkhqi ce bawm khqi nawh Khawsa venawh ak cykcah poepa thlang na awm hy.
A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.
3 Hypoet awhtaw khawngkeng khawnoek pakthum a pha awh hatnaak ik-oeih hu hy. Khawsa ak khan ceityih ce law nawh a venawh, “Konelia!” tina hy.
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying to him, Cornelius.
4 Konelia ing ak kqih doena toek ceet hy. “Bawipa ikaw?” tinawh doet hy. Khan ceityih ing, “Nak cykcahnaak ingkaw khawdeng hahqahkhqi na do na dannaak ce Khawsa haiawh simpoenaak ham pha hawh hy.
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said to him, Your prayers and your alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 Piter tinawh amik khy Simon ce khy tlaih aham tuh Joppa khaw na thlang tyi lah.
And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 Anih ce mehvyn ak khquikung Simon a im awh awm hy, anih a im taw tuicunli a keng awh awm hy, tina hy.
He lodges with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell you what you ought to do.
7 A venawh awi ak kqawnkung khan ceityih ce a ceh coengawh Konelia ing a tyihzawih thlang pakkhih ingkaw a tyihzawih awi ak ngai qalkap pynoet ce khy hy.
And when the angel which spoke to Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 Ik-oeih a huh ingkaw ang zaak khqi boeih ce ak kqawn peek coengawh Joppa khaw na cekkhqi ce tyi hy.
And when he had declared all these things to them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 A khawngawi nyn awh cet unawh khawk bau ami pha tawm khawnghyp awh lam na ce, Piter taw iptih na cykcah aham kai hy.
On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew near to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 Cawh ak phoen cawi nawh ai kawi pynoet oet ai aham ngaih hy, buh ami lawh peek li awh, huh saknaak ik-oeih ce hu hy.
And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 Khan ak awng qu ce hu nawh hi a kil pupthli awh khan nakawng ik-oeih anuk thlaak law peek ce hu hy.
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending on him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Ce ak khuiawh ce khaw pupthli ak law qamsa soepkep ce awm nawh, dek awh ak cawlh ak tat ingkaw khan nakaw ak ding phakhqi awm awm hy.
Wherein were all manner of four footed beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 Cawh awi ing a venawh, “Piter tho, him nawhtaw ai,” tina hy.
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 Piter ing, “Am ai hly nyng, Bawipa! Amak ciimcaih ingkaw tuih ak cu ikawm am ai khawi nyng,” tina hy.
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 Awi ing a hih voeinaak awh, “Khawsa ing a ciim sak ce nang ing am ciim hy koeh ti,” tina hy.
And the voice spoke to him again the second time, What God has cleansed, that call not you common.
16 Vemyihna thum voei dy a awm coengawh, hi ce khawk khan na dawh pe hy.
This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Piter ing cawhkaw ik-oeih a huh ce ikaw hy voei nu, tinawh ak poek huiawh, Konelia ak thlang tyihkhqi ing Simon a im ce hu unawh vawng chawmkeng awh ce dyi uhy.
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 Piter tinawh amik khy, Simon ce im awh ak awm nu tinawh doet uhy.
And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 Piter ing a them huh ce anak poek huiawh, Myihla ing a venawh, “Simon, thlang pakthum ing nang ni sui uhy.
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, three men seek you.
20 Cedawngawh tho nawhtaw ipkai na nuk kqum lah. Cekkhqi hu awh bat aham koeh tawngaa, kai ing ni cekkhqi ce ka tyih law hy,” tina hy.
Arise therefore, and get you down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
21 Piter ce nuk kqum nawh cekkhqi venawh, “Nangmih ing nami sui ce kai ni. Ikaw cainaak ing nami aw?” tinak khqi hy.
Then Peter went down to the men which were sent to him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom you seek: what is the cause why you are come?
22 Cekkhqi ing, “Kaimih ve qalkap zakhat ukkung Kornelia a im awhkawng law unyng. Anih taw thlakdyng ingkaw Khawsa ak kqih thlang na awm hy, cedawngawh Juda thlangkhqi boeih ing anih ve kqihchah uhy. Nang ak awihkqawn ngai aham khan ceityih ciim pynoet ing nang khy aham kqawn pehy,” tina uhy.
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that fears God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for you into his house, and to hear words of you.
23 Cawh Piter ing cekkhqi ce ipkhui na khy nawh pah sak hy. Cedawngawh a khawngawi nyn awh tho nawh cekkhqi mi cet haih uhy, Joppa khaw awhkaw koeinaakhqi awm cet lawt uhy.
Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
24 A khawngawi nyn awh Kaiserea khaw ce pha uhy. Kornelia ing anih ce a na lamtoen nawh a cakaw paqengkhqi ingkaw a pyipawkhqi boeih ce kutoet na khy khqi hy.
And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
25 Piter ce ipkhui na a lut awh, Kornelia ing do nawh a khawkung awh kqihchahnaak ing khuksym pehy.
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
26 Cehlai Piter ing thawh sak tlaih nawh “Kai awm thlanghqing lawt ni,” tina hy.
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 Awi anik kqawn coengawh Piter ce ipkhui na lut nawh cawh ipkhui na thlang khawzah ak awm ce hu hy.
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 Cekkhqi venawh: “Juda thlang ingkaw Gentel thlang awm haih aham am ciim hy tice sim uhyk ti; cehlai u awm ciimcaih hy, am ciimcaih hy, niti kawi am ni tice Khawsa ing ni sim sak hy.
And he said to them, You know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come to one of another nation; but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 Ce a dawngawh thlang na minik khy law sak awhkawng a oelh kana law nyng. Cehlai ni doet khqi nyng, ikaw ham nanu nami nik khy?” tinak khqi hy.
Therefore came I to you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent you have sent for me?
30 Cawh Korelia ing, “Ni hu hitphli awh ce, ve atym khawngkeng khawnoek pakthum awh ka mah a im awh cykcah nyng. Cawh hi ak vang soeih ak bai thlang pynoet ce ka haiawh dyi nawh,
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

And said, Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Ceamyihna awmsaw Joppa khaw na thlang tyi nawhtaw Piter ak mingnaak Simon ce khy sak. Anih ce tuicunli a kengawh ak awm, mehvyn ak khquikung, Simon a im awh khin na awm hy,” ni tina hy.
Send therefore to Joppa, and call here Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he comes, shall speak to you.

Immediately therefore I sent to you; and you have well done that you are come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded you of God.
34 Cekcoengawh taw Piter ing awih kqawnnaak ce kqan hy, “Khawsa ing u a hai awm am toek hy tice tuh sim hawh nyng,
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

But in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him.

That word, I say, you know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 cehlai Khawsa ing anih ce thihnaak awhkawng am thum nyn awh thawh sak tlaih nawh thlang a huh awh dang sak hy.
Him God raised up the third day, and showed him openly;

Not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 Thlak hqing ingkaw thlak thi awideng aham anih doeng ni Khawsa ing a caksak hy, tice khypyi aham ingkaw sim sak aham kaimih ve awi ni pek khqi hy.
And he commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 U awm amah ce ak cangnaak thlang boeih ing amah ang ming ak caming thawlh qeenkhaw ngainaak hu kaw, tice tawnghakhqi boeih ing anak kqawn hawh uhy,” tinak khqi hy.
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whoever believes in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 Piter ing ve ak awikhqi ve ak kqawn li awh, awi ak zakhqi boeih ak khan awh Ciim Myihla ce law hy.
While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 Cekkhqi ing amsim awi na pau unawh, Khawsa a mim kyihcah ce a ming zaak awh a mingngaihna kyi hy. Cekcoengawh Piter ing,

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 Cekcoengawh cekkhqi ce Jesu Khrih ang ming ing baptisma huh aham awi pehy. Cekkhqi ce khawnghi iqyt nu awm pyi cang aham Piter a venawh thoeh uhy.
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
