1 Te phoeiah Derbe neh Lustra khawa pha. Te vaengah hnukbang pakhat, a mingah Timothy tah tapkhoeh om. Anih tah Judah nu uepom neh a napa Greek hoel kah a capa ni.
and came to Derbe and Lystra; and, behold, a certain disciple was there, whose name was Timothy, the son of a believing Jewess, but of a Grecian father;
2 Lustra neh Ikonium kah manucarhoek loh anih te a oep uh.
who had an honorable character given by the brethren in Lystra and Iconium.
3 Anihte Paul loh amah neh caeh puei a ngaih. Tedae terhoek hmuen ah Judahrhoekkhaw om tih a napa khaw Greek ni tila boeiha ming uh dongah anih te a khuen tih yahvin a rhet pah.
Him Paul would have to go forth with him: and took and circumcised him, on account of the Jews who were in those places: for they all knew his father, that he was a Greek.
4 Kho takuem la a pah rhoi vaengah Jerusalem kah caeltueihrhoek neha hamrhoek loha tloek oltloek te ngaithuen ham khaw amih taengah a pak pah rhoi.
And as they passed through the cities, they delivered to their custody the decrees, which were determined by the Apostles and elders that were at Jerusalem.
5 Te dongah hlangboel rhoek loh tangnah dongah cak uh tih hnin takuemah hlangmi loh pungtai.
The congregations, therefore, were confirmed in the faith, and increased in number daily.
6 Phrygia neh Galatia paenga hil rhoi vaengah Asia ah olka thui sak ham Cim Mueihla loha mah.
And they went through Phrygia, and the region of Galatia, and being forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;
7 Musiaa pha uh vaengah Bitunia la caeh ham khaw a noem uh. Tedae amih rhoi te Jesuh Mueihla loh hlah pawh.
when they were come to Mysia, they attempted to go to Bithynia; but the spirit did not permit them.
8 Te dongah Musiaa poeng vaengah Troas la suntla uh.
And passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas.
9 Khoyin aha mangthui loh Paul taenglaa phoe pah. Te vaengah Makedonia hlang pakhat loh pai tih anih te a hloep. Te phoeiah, “Makedonia la ha hlaikan lamtah kaimih m'bom lah,” a ti nah.
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There stood a certain Macedonia, entreating him, and saying, Come over to Macedonia, and help us.
10 Mangthuia hmuh nen tah Makedonia la aka cet ham ni pahoia toem coeng. Amih taengah olthangthen thui ham Pathen loh kaimih n'khue tilaa cului.
And as soon as he had seen this vision, we immediately endeavored to go to Macedonia; assuredly inferring, that the Lord had called us to declare the gospel to them.
11 Te dongah Troas lamkah Smothrace la thaeng kat rhoi. A vuen ah kho thai la,
Setting sail, therefore, from Troas, we ran directly to Samothracia; and the next day to Neapolis;
12 te lamkahte Philipi la pawkuh. Philipi he Rom kuthmui kho khuiah Makedonia khosa kho tanglue la om. Tekah kho ah ka om uh vaengah khaw a tue bet ka loh uh.
and came thence to Philippi, which is a city of the first part of Macedonia, a colony: and we continued in this city for some days.
13 Sabbath hnin ah vongka la voelh ka cet uh tih tuiva kaengah thangthuinah om ni tila ka poek uh. Te phoeiah ka ngol uh tih huta aka tingtunrhoek taengah ka thui pauh.
And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the side of the river, according to the custom, where was an oratory; and sitting down, we spoke to the women that were assembled there.
14 Te vaengah huta pakhat, a mingah Lydia, Thyatira kho kah daidihni aka yoi tih Pathen aka bawk long khaw a hnatun. Paul loha thui te ngaithuen hamla Boeipa loh a thinkoa puk sak.
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, a worshiper of God, heard the discourse: whose heart the Lord opened to attend to the things which were spoken by Paul.
15 Tedae a imkhui long khawa nuem sak. Te dongah, “Boeipa taengah uepom la om ham kai nan boelh uh atah ka im ah ha kun uh lamtah pah uh dae,” a ti tih n'hloep uh. Te phoeiah kaimih te tlal n'hloh.
And when she was immersed, with her family, she entreated us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, enter into my house, and continue there. And she compelled us.
16 Te vaengah thangthuinah la ka cet uh tih hmayuep rhai aka khueh salnu pakhat tah kaimih doe hamla ha moe. Anih long te a hma neh boeirhoek ham bi muepa coeng pah.
Now it came to pass, that as we were going to the oratory, we were met by a certain maid-servant that had a spirit of divination, who brought her owners much gain by prophesying:
17 Anih loh Paul neh kaimih te n'hloem tih, “Hekah hlangrhoek tah Khohni Pathen kah sal rhoek pai ni. Amih long ni nangmih taengah khangnah longpueia doek uh,” a titih pang.
the same, following after Paul and us, cried out, These men are the servants of the Most High God, who declare to you the way of salvation.
18 Te tlamte hnin takuema saii coeng. Tedae Paulloh a yakdam dongah rhai tea mael thil tih, “Nang he Jesuh Khrih ming neh ol kan paek, anih lamloh cet laeh,” a tinah hatah amah te vaeng tue ah pahoi nong.
And this she did for several days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I charge you, in the name of Jesus Christ, to go out of her. And it went out that very hour.
19 A bibi kah ngaiuepnah loh tal coeng tila a boeirhoek loha hmuh uh vaengah Paul neh Silas tea tuuk uh tih hnoyoih hmuen kah boei rhoek taenglaa mawt uh.
But when her owners saw that the hope of their gain was gone; laying hold of Paul and Silas, they dragged them to the market place, to the magistrates:
20 Amih rhoi te imtawt boei taenglaa thakuh tih, “Hekah hlang rhoi loh kho khuikah aka om Judah rhoek, kaimih he n'ngaelawn coeng.
and having brought them to the generals of the army, they said, These men, who are Jews, mightily disturb our city;
21 Roman la aka om kaimih loh doe ham aka tueng pawttih saii pawt koi khosing te a doek rhoi,” a ti uh.
and teach customs, which it is not lawful for us to receive and practice, being Romans.
22 Te dongah amih rhoi te hlangping loha thoh thil. Te vaengah imtawt boei rhoek loh a himbai tea phen pah tih boh ham ol a paek.
And the populace rose up together against them; and the generals tearing off their garments, commanded them to be beaten with rods.
23 Amih rhoi te lucik neh muepa nan phoeiah thongim aha hlakuh tih, amihte rhep tawt ham thong boei tea uen.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely.
24 Tebang olpaek aka dang loh amih rhoi te thongim khui laa khueh tih a kho te thinglong neha khoh pah.
Who, having received such a strict charge, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet fast in the stocks.
25 Tedae ihdulh ah Paul neh Silas loh thangthui neh Pathena hlai rhoi te amih thongtlarhoek long khawa hnatun uh.
But at midnight, Paul and Silas having prayed, sung a hymn to God: and the prisoners heard them.
26 Te vaengah linglueite muep hinghuen tarha tih thongim kah khoengim khaw hlinghloek. Te dongah thohka te boeih ong uh tarha tih hlang boeih kah hloong khaw boeih hlam uh.
And, on a sudden, there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prisoner were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and the bonds of all the prisoners were loosed.
27 Thong boei loha haenghang vaengah thongim thohkaa ahlaa om te a hmuh. Te dongah cunghang tea yuehtih amahte ngawn uh la cai. Thongtlarhoek te poenghal ham ni a poek coeng.
And the jailor, awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the doors of the prison opened, drew his sword, and was going to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners were fled.
28 Tedae Paul tah ol ue la pang tih, “Namahte thae saii boeh. Boeih ka om uh ngawn ta he,” a ti nah.
But Paul cried out, with a loud voice, saying, Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.
29 Hmaivanga bih tih a muk phai. Te vaengaha thuen neh omtih Paul neh Silas tea bakop thil.
And he called for lights, and sprung in; and, being in a tremor, fell down before Paul and Silas;
30 Tedae amih rhoi te voelha lamhma phoeiah, “Boeipa rhoi aw, daem hamla ka saii koinih balaea kuek eh?” a ti nah.
and, bringing them out, he said, O Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 Amih rhoi long khaw, “Boeipa Jesuh te tangnah lamtah namah neh na imkhui khaw na daem bitni,” a ti nah.
And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house.
32 Te vaengah anih neh a im khuikah aka om rhoek boeih taengah Boeipa olka tea thui pah.
And they spoke to him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
33 Te daengah amih rhoi te a khuentih amah khoyin tue ah boengha tea pawt pah. Te phoeiah amah neh a taengkah boeihte pahoia nuem.
And taking them, that very hour of the night, he washed their stripes; and was immediately immersed, himself, and all his.
34 Te phoeiah amih rhoi te im laa khuentih caboeia phaih pah. Te dongah Pathen aka tangnahloh a imko te ko a hoe sak.
And having brought them into his house, he spread the table before them: and believing in the God, with all his house, he was transported with joy.
35 Khothaiha pha vaengah imtawt boei loh palika tueih tih, “Tekah hlang rhoi te hlah laeh,” a ti nah.
And when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, Dismiss those men.
36 Te dongah thong boei loh Paul taengah, “Nangmih hlah ham imtawt boei loh n'tueih uh coeng. Te dongah coe lamtah ngaimong la cet rhoi laeh, “ti ol tea puen pah.
And the keeper of the prison told these things to Paul, The generals have sent that you may be dismissed; now, therefore, go out, and pursue your journey in peace.
37 Tedae amih te Paul loh, “Roman hlang la aka om kaimih he lungla maila langya ah m'boh uh tih thongim khuiah nan ng'khueh uh hea huep la kaimih n'haek uh aya? Te moenih, amamih ha lo uh saeh lamtah kaimih he n'doek uh saeh,” a ti nah.
But Paul said to them, They have beaten us, who are Romans, publicly and uncondemned, and have cast us into prison; and do they now thrust us out privately? By no means: but let them come themselves, and conduct us out.
38 Hekah ol he palikrhoek loh imtawt boei taengaha puen pauh. Tedae amih rhoi te Roman hlang ni tilaa yaak uh vaengah a rhih uh.
And the sergeants reported these words to the generals. And when they had heard that they were Romans, they were afraid:
39 Te dongah ha lo uh tih amih rhoi te a hloep uh. Te phoeiaha doek uh tih kho khui lamkah nong sak ham a hloep uh.
and they came and comforted them; and conducting them out, requested that they would depart from the city.
40 Te dongah thongim lamloh cet rhoi tih Lydia taengla kun rhoi. Te vaengah manucarhoek tea tong tih a hloep phoeiah cet rhoi.
And coming out of the prison, they entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
