1 Asaph ih maskil. Aw Sithaw, tipongah dungzan khoek to nang pahnawt loe? Tipongah nangmah ih caphoih ahmuen ah kapra tuunawk nuiah palung na phui loe?
A contemplation by Asaph. God, why have you rejected us forever? Why does your anger smolder against the sheep of your pasture?
2 Canghnii hoiah na qan ih kaminawk, na qawktoep acaengnawk hoi na ohhaih Zion mae to poek ah.
Remember your congregation, which you purchased of old, which you have redeemed to be the tribe of your inheritance: Mount Zion, in which you have lived.
3 Kaciim ahmuen to misanawk mah paro o boih boeh pongah, dungzan ah kamro ahmuen ah na khok to paqoi lai ah.
Lift up your feet to the perpetual ruins, all the evil that the enemy has done in the sanctuary.
4 Na misanawk loe nangmah ih kaminawk salakah hang o; nihcae loe angmacae angmathaih kahni to payang o.
Your adversaries have roared in the middle of your assembly. They have set up their standards as signs.
5 Nihcae loe caka hoi tu thung ih thing pakhruh kaminawk baktiah oh o.
They behaved like men wielding axes, cutting through a thicket of trees.
6 Toe vaihi loe sak ih hmuennawk to caki hoi cakanawk hoiah a saek o boih boeh.
Now they break all its carved work down with hatchet and hammers.
7 Na hmuenciim to hmai hoiah a thlaek o boeh; na hmin ohhaih ahmuen doeh long ah vah o moe, panuet thok ah a sak o boeh.
They have burned your sanctuary to the ground. They have profaned the dwelling place of your Name.
8 Nihcae mah, Hae kaminawk hae paduek boih si, tiah thuih o moe, prae thung ih Sithaw bokhaih ahmuennawk to hmai hoiah thlaek o boih boeh.
They said in their heart, “We will crush them completely.” They have burned up all the places in the land where God was worshiped.
9 Kaicae loe kaimacae angmathaih tidoeh ka hnu o ai; tahmaanawk doeh om o ai boeh; nasetto maw hae tiah om vop tih, tiah panoek kami kaicae thungah mi doeh om ai.
We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.
10 Aw Sithaw, nasetto maw misa mah kasaethui vop tih? Misa mah na hmin kasae thui poe tih maw?
How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?
11 Tipongah na ban, na bantang ban to na zuh let loe? Na saoek thung hoiah pathok ah.
Why do you draw back your hand, even your right hand? Take it from your chest and consume them!
12 Sithaw loe canghnii hoiah ni kai ih siangpahrang ah oh boeh; anih mah ni long nuiah pahlonghaih to sak.
Yet God is my King of old, working salvation throughout the earth.
13 Na thacakhaih hoiah tuipui to na pakhoih; tuipuinawk thung ih pahui puinawk ih lu to na khaeh.
You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
14 Leviathan ih lunawk to na koihsak phaeng moe, praezaek ah kaom kaminawk hanah buh ah na paek.
You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces. You gave him as food to people and desert creatures.
15 Nangmah ni tuibap tui hoi vacong tuinawk to na longsak; vapui tuinawk doeh na kaangsak.
You opened up spring and stream. You dried up mighty rivers.
16 Khodai loe nang ih ni, khoving doeh nang ih ni; nangmah ni ni hoi aanghaih to na sak.
The day is yours, the night is also yours. You have prepared the light and the sun.
17 Nangmah ni long angzithaih ramrinawk to na sak moe, nipui hoi siktue doeh na sak.
You have set all the boundaries of the earth. You have made summer and winter.
18 Aw Angraeng, misa mah kasaethuihaih to poek ah; kamthunawk mah loe na hmin to patoek o.
Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, LORD. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.
19 Nangmah ih pahuu tuinom hinghaih to kasae kaminawk khaeah paek hmah; nangmah ih amtang kaminawk to dungzan khoek to pahnet hmah.
Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.
20 Lokkamhaih to poek ah; long khoving ahmuennawk loe pacaekthlaekhaih hoiah koi.
Honor your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.
21 Patangkhang kaminawk to palung boengsak hmah; kamtang hoi kavawt kaminawk mah na hmin to saphaw o nasoe.
Don’t let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name.
22 Aw Sithaw, angthawk tahang ah loe, na sak ih hmuen to pakaa ah; kawbangmaw kamthunawk mah nang sethaih kawng ni thokkruek thuih o, tito panoek ah.
Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.
23 Na misanawk ih lok to pahnet hmah; na misanawk hanghaih lok loe pop aep aep boeh.
Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
