And at that time there was a great persecution against the church that was in Jerusalem; and they were all dispersed throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Sithaw khae angpaek kaminawk mah Stephen ih qok to lak o moe, aphum o, anih to paroeai palungset o haih.
But devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 Saul mah kricabu to phraek, im kruekah akun, nongpa hoi nongpatanawk to a naeh moe, thongim ah pakhrak.
But Saul attempted to destroy the church; entering every house, and dragging men and women, he delivered them up to prison.
4 To pongah kacawn kaminawk phakhaih ahmuen kruekah tamthanglok to taphong o.
Then they that were dispersed went everywhere preaching the word.
5 Philip loe Samaria vangpui ah caeh tathuk moe, to ih kaminawk khaeah Kri kawng to a thuih.
And Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached the Christ to them.
6 Toah kaom kaminawk loe Philip mah thuih ih lok to palung paekhaih hoiah tahngaih pae o, a sak ih dawnrai hmuennawk doeh a hnuk o.
And the multitudes with one mind gave heed to the things which were spoken by Philip, when they heard, and saw the signs which he did.
7 Kaciim ai pakhranawk loe, tha hoi hang o moe, taqawk tawn kaminawk ih takoh thung hoiah tacawt o: pop parai angtawt thai ai kaminawk hoi khokkhaem kaminawk ngantui o.
For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them, and many paralytics and lame persons were cured.
8 To pongah to avang ih kaminawk loe paroeai anghoehaih tawnh o.
And there was great joy in that city.
9 To avang ah kaom Simon, tiah kawk ih kami maeto loe angmah hoi angmah to lensawk kami ah amkoeh moe, miklet patohhaih hoiah Samaria kaminawk hma ah dawnrai hmuen to a sak:
But there was a certain man, named Simon, who had, before this time, been practicing magic in the city, and astonishing the people of Samaria, saying that he was some great one;
10 kathoeng hoi kalen koek kaminawk mah, Hae kami loe kalen koek Sithaw thacakhaih to tawnh, tiah thuih o moe, anih ih lok to tahngaih pae o.
to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying: This man is the great power of God.
11 Anih mah to ih kaminawk dawnraisak hanah miklet hoiah saning kasawkah doi boeh pongah, nihcae mah Simon ih lok to tahngaih pae o.
And they gave heed to him because he had, for a long time, astonished them with his magic arts.

But when they believed Philip, who preached the good news concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were immersed, both men and women.
13 Simon angmah doeh tanghaih tawnh moe, tuinuemhaih to hnuk: Philip mah sak ih dawnrai hmuen hoi angmathaihnawk to a hnuk naah, dawnrai moe, Philip hnukah a bang.
And Simon himself also believed; and after he was immersed, he continued with Philip; and, seeing the mighty deeds and the signs which were done, he was astonished.
14 Jerusalem ah kaom patoeh ih kaminawk mah Samaria kaminawk loe Sithaw lok tang o boeh ti, tiah thaih o naah, Piter hoi Johan to nihcae khaeah patoeh o:
Now when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John;

For he had not yet fallen on any of them; only they had been immersed into the name of the Lord Jesus.
17 Piter hoi Johan mah nihcae nuiah ban koeng moe, lawkthuih pae hoi naah loe, nihcae mah Kacai Muithla to talawk o.
Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

And when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the hands of the apostles, he offered them money,

saying: Give me, also, this authority, that whoever I shall lay my hands on, may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 Toe Piter mah anih khaeah, Sithaw ih tangqum to phoisa hoi qan han na poek pongah, phoisa hoi nawnto nang hmaa hoi hmaek tih, tiah a naa.
But Peter said to him: Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God might be purchased with money.
21 Sithaw hmaa ah na poekhaih toeng ai pongah, hae toksakhaih nuiah na thum han koi tidoeh na tawn mak ai, tiah a naa.
You have neither part nor share in this matter; for your heart is not right in the sight of God.

Repent, therefore, of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the purpose of your heart may be forgiven you.
23 Nang loe kakhaa tui to na naek moe, zae mah taoenghaih thung hoiah na loih ai vop, tito ka panoek, tiah a naa.
For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 To naah Simon mah, Na thuih hoi ih hmuennawk ka nuiah phak han ai ah, Angraeng khaeah lawk na thui pae hoih, tiah a naa.
But Simon answered and said: Pray you both to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken come upon me.
25 Peter hoi Johan loe Angraeng ih lok to taphong hoi, to tiah lokthuih hoi pacoengah Jerusalem ah amlaem hoi; paroeai Samaria avangnawk ah doeh kahoih tamthanglok to taphong hoi.
Then, when they had given their testimony, and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 Angraeng ih van kami mah Philip khaeah, Angthawk ah loe, Jerusalem hoi Gaza bang caeh tathukhaih praezaek loklam aloih bangah caeh ah, tiah a naa.
And an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying: Arise, and go toward the south, to the road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza; this is desert.

And Philip ran forward, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah; and he said: Do you understand what you are reading?

He answered: How can I, unless some one instruct me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 To kami mah kroek ih Cabu loe, Boh han kaom tuu baktiah Anih to hoih o; Anih loe angmah ih amui aat kami hma ah kaom duem tuucaa baktiah pakha aang ai:

34 Tangyat dueh kami mah, Tahmaa mah mi kawng maw thuih? Angmah kawng maw, to tih ai boeh loe kalah kami kawng, na thui ah? tiah a dueng.
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said: I pray you, of whom speaks the prophet this? Of himself, or of some other man?
35 To naah Philip mah, To Cabu thung ih lok hoi Jesu kawng to anih khaeah thuih pae.
And Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached to him Jesus.

38 To pongah anih mah hrang mawtaka to angdoetsak: Philip hoi tangyat dueh kami loe tui ohhaih ahmuen ah caeh hoi tathuk moe, Philip mah anih to tuinuemhaih paek.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still; and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he immersed him.

And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip; and the eunuch saw him no more, for he went on his way rejoicing.
40 Philip loe Azota prae ah hnuk o let: Sisaria avang pha ai karoek to a caehhaih loklam avang boih ah kahoih tamthanglok to a thuih.
But Philip was found at Azotus, and, passing through, he preached the gospel in all the cities, till he came to Cæsarea
