And in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place,
2 Poek ai pui ah thacak takhi baktiah van hoiah lok angzoh moe, nihcae anghnuthaih imthung to koi boih.
and there came suddenly out of the heaven a sound as of a bearing violent breath, and it filled all the house where they were sitting,
3 To naah kangqong hmai baktiah kaom, kangphae palai to nihcae khaeah amtueng pae moe, toah kaom kami maeto khae boih nuiah oh.
and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it sat also upon each one of them,
4 To naah nihcae boih Kacai Muithla hoi koi o moe, Muithla mah paek ih lok baktih toengah, nihcae mah kalah loknawk to apaeh o.
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.
5 To naah van tlim ah kaom acaeng kaminawk boih thungah, sithaw kazom, Judahnawk Jerusalem ah oh o.
And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven,
6 to tiah lok angzoh naah, pop parai kaminawk loe nawnto amkhueng o, nihcae mah apaeh ih lok to angmah ih lok baktih toengah thaih o pongah, dawnrai o.
and the rumour of this having come, the multitude came together, and was confounded, because they were each one hearing them speaking in his proper dialect,
7 Nihcae boih dawnrai o moe, poek anghmang o sut, Khenah, hae kaminawk loe Kalili lok na ai maw apaeh o boih?
and they were all amazed, and did wonder, saying one unto another, 'Lo, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 Kawbangmaw aimacae ih lok baktih toengah, a thaih o boih halat?
and how do we hear, each in our proper dialect, in which we were born?
9 Aicae loe Parthia, Media, Elam prae ah kaom kami; Mesopotamia, Judea, Kapadocia, Pontus hoi Asia,
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea also, and Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Izip hoi Libya prae Cyrene vangpui taeng ih kami; Rom ih angvinnawk, Judahnawk hoi Judah bokhaih thungah akun kaminawk,
Phrygia also, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya, that [are] along Cyrene, and the strangers of Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 Crete hoi Arab kami ah a oh o, toe Sithaw mah sak ih dawnrai hmuen to aimacae ih lok baktih toengah a thaih o, tiah nihcae mah maeto hoi maeto thuih o.
Cretes and Arabians, we did hear them speaking in our tongues the great things of God.'
12 Nihcae boih dawnrai o moe, poek anghmang o sut, hae hmuen loe tih thuih koehhaih ih maw vai? tiah maeto hoi maeto angdueng o.
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one unto another, 'What would this wish to be?'
13 To naah kalah kaminawk mah, Hae kaminawk loe kangtha misurtui ni zok koiah naek o, tiah pahnui o thuih.
and others mocking said, — 'They are full of sweet wine;'
14 Toe Piter loe kami hatlaito hoi nawnto angdoet moe, nihcae khaeah, Judah kami hoi Jerusalem ah kaom kaminawk, hae hae panoek oh, ka thuih ih loknawk hae tahngai oh, tiah tha hoi lok a thuih:
and Peter having stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them, 'Men, Jews! and all those dwelling in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and harken to my sayings,
15 na poek o ih baktiah, hae kaminawk loe mu paquih o ai, vaihi loe akhawn bang atue thumto ni oh vop.
for these are not drunken, as ye take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.

'But this is that which hath been spoken through the prophet Joel:

And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;

and also upon My men-servants, and upon My maid-servants, in those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, and they shall prophesy;
19 van ranui ah dawnrai hmuen to kam tuengsak moe, long tlim ah athii, hmai hoi hmaikhuenawk to angmathaih ah kam tuengsak han:
and I will give wonders in the heaven above, and signs upon the earth beneath — blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke,
20 lensawk moe, dawnrai koi kaom Angraeng ih ni pha ai naah, Ni to khoving ah angcoeng ueloe, khrah to athii ah angcoeng tih:
the sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of the Lord — the great and illustrious;
21 to naah mi kawbaktih doeh Angraeng ih ahmin kawk kami loe pahlonghaih hnu tih, tiah thuih ih lok to oh.
and it shall be, every one — whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, he shall be saved.
22 Israel kaminawk, hae loknawk hae tahngai oh; Sithaw mah Nazareth Jesu nangcae khaeah patoeh pongah, Anih rang hoiah Sithaw mah dawnrai hmuen, anghmang thok hmuen hoi angmathaih hmuennawk to ang sak pae o boeh, tito na panoek o:
'Men, Israelites! hear these words, Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through him in the midst of you, according as also ye yourselves have known;
23 Sithaw mah panoek coek moe, khokhan tangcae baktih toengah, Anih to na naeh o moe, kami zae ban hoiah thinglam pongah takhing pacoeng ah, na hum o:
this one, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having taken by lawless hands, having crucified — ye did slay;
24 toe Anih loe Sithaw mah duekhaih thung hoiah loihsak moe, hing hanah pathawk let boeh: duekhaih mah Anih to patawn caeng thai ai.
whom God did raise up, having loosed the pains of the death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it,
25 David mah Anih kawng to, Ka hmaa ah Angraeng to ka hnuk toepsoep, ka bantang bangah anih to oh pongah, ka tasoeh mak ai:
for David saith in regard to him: I foresaw the Lord always before me — because He is on my right hand — that I may not be moved;
26 to pongah ka palung loe anghoe moe, ka palai mah kawnhaih to tawnh; ka takpum doeh oephaih hoiah om tih:
because of this was my heart cheered, and my tongue was glad, and yet — my flesh also shall rest on hope,
27 ka hinghaih pakhra hell thungah Nang caehtaak mak ai, nangmah ih kaciim kami to na qongsak mak ai. (Hadēs )
because Thou wilt not leave my soul to hades, nor wilt Thou give Thy Kind One to see corruption; (Hadēs )
28 Hinghaih loklam to nang panoeksak; Na hmaa ah anghoehaih hoiah nang koisak tih, tiah thuih.
Thou didst make known to me ways of life, Thou shalt fill me with joy with Thy countenance.
29 Nawkamyanawk, aicae ampa David loe duek moe, aphum o boeh, tito kamnoek ah thuih han ka koeh, anih ih taprong loe vaihni ni khoek to aicae khaeah oh.
'Men, brethren! it is permitted to speak with freedom unto you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us unto this day;
30 Toe David loe tahmaa ah oh pongah, taksa ah oh baktih toengah, anih ih angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnutsak hanah, angmah ih acaeng thung hoiah, Anih mah Kri to pathawk tih, tiah Sithaw mah David khaeah lokkamhaih sak boeh, tito anih mah panoek.
a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne,
31 David mah hae tiah kaom han koi hmuen to panoek coek boeh pongah, a hinghaih Pakhra loe hell thungah caehtaak mak ai, a takpum doeh qong mak ai, tiah Kri angthawk lethaih kawng to a thuih. (Hadēs )
having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs )
32 Aicae loe Sithaw mah Jesu pathawk let boeh, tiah hnukung ah oh o.
'This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;
33 Anih loe pakoehhaih hoiah Sithaw bantang bangah oh moe, Ampa mah lokkamhaih Kacai Muithla to hnuk boeh pongah, anih mah paek ih hae hmuen hae vaihi na hnuk o moe, na thaih o boeh.
at the right hand then of God having been exalted — also the promise of the Holy Spirit having received from the Father — he was shedding forth this, which now ye see and hear;
34 David loe van ah daw tahang ai: toe anih mah, Angraeng mah kai ih Angraeng khaeah, na misanawk to na khokkoenghaih ahmuen ah ka sah ai karoek to, ka bantang bangah anghnu ah, tiah a naa, tiah thuih.
for David did not go up to the heavens, and he saith himself: The Lord saith to my lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
till I make thy foes thy footstool;

assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know, that both Lord and Christ did God make him — this Jesus whom ye did crucify.'
37 Nihcae mah to lok to thaih o naah, nihcae ih palung to thunh pae pongah, Piter hoi patoeh ih kaminawk khaeah, Kaminawk hoi nawkamyanawk, Kawbangmaw ka tih o han boeh? tiah lok a dueng o.
And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they say also to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles, 'What shall we do, men, brethren?'
38 Piter mah nihcae khaeah, Zaehaih dawnpakhuem oh loe, zae tahmenhaih hnuk hanah, Jesu Kri ih ahmin hoiah tuinuem o boih ah, Kacai Muithla ih tangqum to na hnu o tih.
and Peter said unto them, 'Reform, and be baptized each of you on the name of Jesus Christ, to remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
39 Lokkamhaih loe nangmacae han ih, na caanawk han ih, kangthla ah kaom kaminawk hoi aicae Angraeng Sithaw mah kawk hanah kaom kaminawk boih han ih ni, tiah a naa.
for to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all those afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call.'
40 Hae lam amkhraeng kaminawk thung hoiah nangmacae hoi nangmacae amhlong oh, tiah anih mah kalah paroeai thapaekhaih loknawk to thuih pae.
Also with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation;'
41 Oephaih hoiah anih ih lok talawk kaminawk loe tuinuemhaih to hnuk o, to na niah tang kaminawk sangthumto nihcae khaeah angpaek o.
then those, indeed, who did gladly receive his word were baptized, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,
42 Nihcae loe patoeh ih kaminawk mah patuk ih loknawk to kacakah patawnh o, maeto hoi maeto angkomhaih tawnh o pacoengah, takaw a aeh hoi lawkthuihaih doeh kapet ai ah sak o.
and they were continuing stedfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.
43 Hinghaih tawn kami boih mah zithaih to tawnh o: patoeh ih kaminawk mah paroeai dawnrai koi kaom hmuen hoi angmathaihnawk to sak o.
And fear came on every soul, many wonders also and signs were being done through the apostles,
44 Tanghaih tawn kaminawk boih nawnto oh o moe, a tawnh o ih hmuennawk boih nawnto patoh o;
and all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common,
45 a tawnh o ih hmuennawk to zawh o moe, angtoenghaih baktiah kaminawk boih hanah pazet o.
and the possessions and the goods they were selling, and were parting them to all, according as any one had need.
46 Nihcae loe nithokkruek tempul thungah poek amhonghaih hoiah oh o, im maeto pacoeng maeto takaw a aeh o moe, kawnhaih palungthin hoiah a caak o,
Daily also continuing with one accord in the temple, breaking also at every house bread, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 Sithaw to pakoeh o moe, kaminawk boih koehhaih baktih toengah khosak o. Sithaw mah nithokkruek kricabu thungah pahlonghaih hnu kaminawk to pungsak.
praising God, and having favour with all the people, and the Lord was adding those being saved every day to the assembly.
