1 Pamhnama hlüeia Khritaw Jesuha ngsä kei Pawluh ja mi na Timoti üngka naw,
From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, and from Timothy, also a follower of the Lord.
2 Khritaw üng yümmatnak üng sitihkia ka nglawipüi, Kolawte mlüha veki Pamhnama khyange: mi Pa Pamhnam naw bäkhäknak ja dimdeihnak ning jah pe se.
To Christ’s people at Colossae – the followers who are faithful to him: May God, our Father, bless you and give you peace.
3 Nami phäh kami ktaiyü üng mi Bawipa Jesuh Khritawa Pa üng aläa jenak kami mthehkie.
Whenever we pray we never fail to thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for you,
4 Pamhnama khyange nami jah mhläkphyanak ja Khritaw Jesuh üng nami jumeinak kami ngjaka phäh ni.
now that we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all his people,
5 Ngthu kcang, Thangkdaw nami veia a pha law kcük üng, äpeinak a ning jah peta mawng nami ngja pängki. Nami jumeinak ja mhläkphyanak cun khankhawa ning jah üpawmsak khai tia nami äpeinaka khana veki.
because of the hope which is kept safe for you in heaven. Of this hope you heard long ago in the true message of the good news which reached you,
6 Thangkdaw naw dawkyanak lawpüi lü, Pamhnama bäkhäknaka mawng nami ngjak kcük ua mhnüp üng cutei lü, acun cun akcang ni tia nami ksing law ua mäiha, khawmdek lum üng ngthang hüki.
bearing fruit and growing, as it does, through all the world, just as it did among you from the very day that you heard of God’s loving kindness, and understood what that loving kindness really is.
7 Mi nghngün üng Khritawa khut pawhki, mi mpyapüi u, Epapharah üngkhyüh Pamhnama bäkhäknak nami ngtheingthangkie.
It is just what you learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who, as a minister of the Christ, faithfully represents us,
8 Ngmüimkhya naw a ning jah peta ngmüimkhya mhläkphyanak nami tak pi ani naw jah mthehki.
and who told us of the love with which the Spirit has inspired you.
9 Nami thang kami ngjak üngkhyüh cutei lü alä se kami ning jah ktaiyü petkie ni. A Ngmüimkhya Ngcim naw a ning jah peta themngvainak ja pungngyam üngkhyüh a mlung hlü ksingnak thei a ning jah pet vaia Pamhnama veia kami ning jah ktaiyü petkie ni.
And therefore we, from the very day that we heard this, have never ceased praying for you, or asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of the will of God, which comes through all true spiritual wisdom and insight.
10 Acun käna Bawipaa a hlüeia xüngsei lü ani jesak khaia khut aläa pawh u lü, dawkyakia khut mjüküm bilawh lü Pamhnam ksingnak üng nami dämduh law vai ua ning jah ktaiyü pet ni.
Then you will live lives worthy of the Master, and so please God in every way. Your lives will be fruitful in every kind of good action, and grow into a fuller knowledge of God;
11 Ania hlüngtaikia johit üngka naw lawkia ngjuktha am kyansai u lü, acunüng ahmäi naküt mlung msaü lü nami dunei khawh khaie.
you will be made strong at all points with a strength worthy of the power manifested in his glory – strong to endure with patience, and even with gladness, whatever may happen to you;
12 A khyangea phäh Pamhnama Khawa a jah tak pet nami yah hnga khaia ning jah pyangki Pa Pamhnam cun jekyai na ua.
and you will give thanks to the Father who made you fit to share the lot which awaits Christ’s people in the realms of light.
13 Anghmüpa johit üngka naw jah küikyan lü a mhlänak a Cakpaa khawa jah phasaki.
For God has rescued us from the tyranny of darkness, and has removed us into the kingdom of his Son, who is the embodiment of his love,
14 Acuna cakpaa phäh üng mi mkhyekate naküt jah mhlät se lätlangnak mi yahkie.
and through whom we have found deliverance in the forgiveness of our sins.
15 Khritaw cun am hmuh thei Pamhnam hmuhnak theia kyaki ni. Ani cun a ca kcüka thawn lü mhnünceng naküt luma kthaka hlüngtai säihki ni.
For Christ is the incarnation of the invisible God – firstborn and head of all creation;
16 Pamhnam naw khankhawa veki ja khawmdeka veki naküte, hmuh thei ja am hmuh theie, ngmüimkhya johite, bawie ja khyaihnak khawhe naküt cun Ani üngkhyüh a jah tüipyang ni. Pamhnam naw mce ja khan hin Ani üngkhyüh mhnünceng lü Ania phäh a tüipyang ni.
for in him was created all that is in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible – angels and archangels and all the powers of heaven.
17 Khritaw cun anaküt am a mhnünceng ham üngkhyüh a na ve päng lü, anaküt cun pi ani am atänga awmki he.
All has been created through him and for him. He was before all things, and all things unite in him;
18 Ani cun sangcim tia pumsaa lupum ni. Ani cun a pumsaa xünnak ahnuna pi kyaki. Ani cun Ca-kcük säiha kyaki, ahmäi naküt kthaka amät däk a hlüngtai säih vaia thihnak üngka naw mthawh be ma kcüki kyaki.
and he is the head of the church, which is his body. The firstborn from the dead, he is to the church the source of its life, that he, in all things, may stand first.
19 Mhnama ning naküt a cakpa üng a kümbe cun Pamhnam amäta mkhyaha kyaki.
For it pleased the Father that in him the divine nature in all its fulness should live,
20 Acun käna khawmdeknu hin a Cakpa üngkhyüh amäta veia a lawpüi be vaia Pamhnam naw ngja hlüki. Pamhnam naw kutlamktung üng thiki a Cakpaa thisen üngkhyüh ng’yenak pawh päng lü khawmdek ja khankhaw üng veki naküt pi amäta veia a lawpüi be.
and through him to reconcile all things to himself (making peace by the shedding of Christ’s blood offered on the cross) – whether on earth or in heaven.
21 Ahlana nami bilawh ja nami cungngaih am daw se Pamhnam üng thuk lü a yea nami kya khawikie.
And it pleased God that you, once estranged from him and hostile towards him in your thoughts, intent only on wickedness –
22 Acunsepi atuh ta, Pamhnam naw a cakpaa thihnaka phäh üng a ning jah ng’yäppüi be hin, ngcimngcaih lü mkatei vai käh ve ti khaia amäta veia a ning jah lawpüi be ni.
but now he has reconciled you to himself by the sacrifice of Christ’s earthly body in death – it has pleased God that you should stand in his presence holy, pure, and blameless,
23 Nami jumeinak ngkhäng lü nami leh ngkhän cäm se. Thangkdaw nami ngjak üng nami yaha äpeinak käh thäihngnawn ta kawm uki. Khawmdek khyang naküt üng ami mtheha hina thangkdawa phäh ni kei Pawluh pi mpyaa ka thawn law.
if only you remain true to your faith, firm and immovable, never abandoning the hope held out in the good news to which you listened, which has been proclaimed among all created things under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made an assistant.
24 Nangmia phäh khuikhanak ka khamei hin jekyai veng. Khritaw naw a pumsa sangcima nghngün üng a khamei mcawt a kümceinak vaia kei naw ka pumsa am ka khameipüiki.
Now at last I can rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf, and in my own person I supplement the afflictions endured by the Christ, for the sake of his body, the church;
25 Khawkphyüm üngkhyüh tuh vei cäpa thupviha kya kyaw lüpi, tuhngawi üng ta a khyange üng jah mdana hlüngtaikia Pamhnama thangkdaw cun avana sang khaia, ahin khut a na pet hin nangmia dawnak vaia, kei cun Pamhnam naw sangcima mpyaa a na thawnsak ni. (aiōn g165)
of which I myself became a minister in virtue of the office with which God entrusted me for your benefit, to declare the message of God in all its fulness –
that truth which has been hidden from former ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to God’s people, (aiōn g165)
27 Mhnama ngjak hlü cun a khyangea phäha ngthup lü hlüngtainak ja bawimangnak cun a khyangea veia a jah mdan hlüa kyaki. Acuna khawh ngthup cun nami k’uma veki hlüngtaiki Khritaw ni. Acuna mawngma ta Pamhnama hlüngtainak nami yah hngaki tinak ni.
to whom it was his pleasure to make known the surpassing glory of that hidden truth when proclaimed among the Gentiles – “Christ among you! Your hope of glory!”
28 Acunakyase, Khritawa ngthu khyang naküt üng kami jah mthehki. Pungngyam mjüküm am jah mcuhmcäi lü khyang naküt Pamhnama maa Khritaw üng yümmat lü xüxamkia kba ami kya law vaia, khyang naküt kami jah mtheimthangkie ni.
This is the Christ whom we proclaim, warning everyone, and instructing everyone, with all the wisdom that we possess, in the hope of bringing everyone into God’s presence perfected by union with Christ.
29 Ahin ka kpäng vaia, ka k’uma khüiki Khritaw naw a na peta ngjuktha am mthui lü ka khüiki.
It is for that I toil, struggling with all the energy which he inspires and which works powerfully within me.
