1 Nangmi ja Lodikih khyange ja kei a khyangpuma am na ksingki hea phäh ihlawka khuikha lü ka khüi cun ning jah mtheh vang.
I want you to know in how great a struggle I am engaged for you and for Christ’s people at Laodicea, and for all who have not yet seen me;
2 Linglainak am be lü mhläkphyanak üng atänga ami kümbe law vaia ja, ksingkhyapnak kcang lawpüikia mkhühüpnak am ami kümbe lawnak vaia kyaki. Acunüng va, Pamhnama thup Khritaw cun ami ksing law vaia ahin ka pawh ni.
in the hope that they, being bound to one another by love, and keeping in view the full blessedness of a firm conviction, may be encouraged to strive for a perfect knowledge of God’s hidden truth,
3 Khritaw cun ngthupkia Pamhnama pungngyam ja themngvainak nghmawngnak tawha kyaki.
even Christ himself, in whom all treasures of wisdom and knowledge lie hidden.
4 Akdaw säiha ngsaih u lü pi, u naw pi am cangkia ngcuhkaihnak am käh a ning jah mhleimhlak vaia ahin ka ning jah mtheh ni.
I say this to prevent anyone from deceiving you by plausible arguments.
5 Pumsa am nami hlawnga am ve ngü sepi, ngmüimkhya üng ta nami hlawnga ka vekia kya se, Khritaw üng nami jumeinak ngkhängpang lü atänga nami ngdüih yüm ka hmuh üng ka jeki.
It is true that I am not with you in person, but I am with you in spirit, and am glad to see the good order and the unbroken front resulting from your faith in Christ.
6 Khritaw Jesuh cun Bawipa ni tia nami doei pängki he a kyase, ani üng yümmat lü xüngsei ua.
Since, therefore, you have received Jesus, the Christ, as your Lord, live your lives in union with him –
7 Ani üng phungpyamah lü, ani üng xüngsei ua. Nami ngtheingthang pängki he a kyase jumeinak üng ngkhängpang u. Jenak mthehnak üng kümbe u bä.
rooted in him, building up your characters through union with him, growing stronger through your faith, as you were taught, overflowing with faith and thanksgiving.
8 Khritaw üngkhyüh lawkia am kya lü, khawmdek ngmüimkhyae ja khyanga mtheimthangnake amdang üngkhyüh lawkia pungngyam üng mpyaa käh a ning jah pawh vaia mceiei u bä.
Take care that there is not someone who will carry you away by his “philosophy” – a hollow sham! – following, as it does, mere human traditions, and dealing with puerile questions of this world, and not with Christ.
9 Isenitiüng, Khritaw khyanga a thawnnak üng Mhnam ning cun kümceiki ni.
For in Christ the Godhead in all its fulness dwells incarnate;
10 Ani üng yümmatnaka xünnak kümcei a ning jah pet päng ni. Ngmüimkhya naküt ja ana naküta khana hlüngtai säihki ni.
and, by your union with him, you also are filled with it. He is the head of all archangels and powers of heaven.
11 Khritaw üng yümmatnak üng vun mawih pänga nami kyaki. Khyang naw a pawha vun mawihnak am ni lü, Khritaw naw a pawha vun mawih ni. Acun cun mkhyekatki pumsaa mpya üngkhyüh lätnak ni.
By your union with him you received a circumcision that was not performed by human hands, when you threw off the tyranny of the earthly body, and received the circumcision of the Christ.
12 Baptican nami khan üng Khritaw am atänga nami ng’utei pängki ni. Baptican nami khan üng, thihnak üngkhyüh Khritaw mtho beki Pamhnama johit jumeinak üng, thihnak üngkhyüh nami tho be pängki he ni.
For in baptism you were buried with Christ; and in baptism you were also raised to life with him, through your faith in the omnipotence of God, who raised him from the dead.
13 Nami mkhyenake ja Thum kaa khyangmjükcea nami thawna phäh ngmüimkhya thihnaka nami phaki. Acunüng pi, Pamhnam naw nami mkhyekatnak naküt ning jah mhlätei lü Khritaw üng xünnak a ning jah pet be ni.
And to you, who once were dead, by reason of your sins and your uncircumcised nature – to you God gave life in giving life to Christ! He pardoned all our sins!
14 Jah khitkhawnkia mi leie a jah mcun naküt cun Pamhnam naw a jah mhlät pet ni. Kutlamktunga cehpüi lü avan a jah mkhyüh pet päng ni.
He canceled the bond which stood against us – the bond that consisted of ordinances – and which was directly hostile to us! He has taken it out of our way by nailing it to the cross!
15 Acuna kutlamktung üngkhyüh Khritaw naw amät cun khyaihbahnake ja ngmüimkhya johite üngka naw mhläteiki. Acun he cun khyangea hmuh vaia tamnaea mäiha amäta ngnängnak da jah cehpüiki.
He rid himself of all the powers of evil, and held them up to open contempt, when he celebrated his triumph over them on the cross!
16 Acunakyase, Sabbath mhnüp, khyathei pawi, khawning pawie üng, i ei aw lü i käh nami eiawk vai tia u naw pi käh ning jah mkhyah pet se.
Do not, then, allow anyone to take you to task on questions of eating or drinking, or in the matter of annual or monthly or weekly festivals.
17 Acun naküt cun ngawia thawn law khai pumsaa mkhya ni. Acuna pumsa ta Khritaw ni.
These things are only the shadow of what is to come; the substance is in the Christ.
18 Khankhawngsäe a jah sawkhaha phäh mdannak yah lü hlüngtai säihkia hana cawmkia khyange naw käh ning jah mkatei u se. Isetiüng, acuna khyange cun nghngicim cungngaihnak am cungngai u lü akhawva awhcahnakie ni. Acun he cun amdange ni.
Do not let anyone defraud you of the reality by affecting delight in so-called “humility” and angel-worship. Such a person busies themselves with their visions, and without reason are rendered conceited by their merely human intellect.
19 Pumsa lupuma kyaki Khritawa mtisaa am kya ti u. Pumsa avan cun Khritawa tumbeinak üng xüng lü atänga ngsüngcawng lü Pamhnama hlüeia kba dämduhkie ni.
They fail to maintain union with the head, to whom it is due that the whole body, nourished and knit together by the contact and connexion of every part, grows with a divine growth.
20 Khritaw am thi päng lü khawmdek jah khankhaw kanaki ngmüimkhya ksea kut k’um üngkhyüh a ning jah mhlät ni. Nangmi cun Khritaw üng nami thi pängki a ni üng, hin käh ei vai, can käh awk vai, hin käh hneh vai tia khawmdek thumceme ise nami jah läklam hamkie ni.
Since, with Christ, you became dead to the puerile teaching of this world, why do you submit, as if you still belonged to the world,
to such ordinances as “Do not handle, or taste, or touch”?
22 Khyanga mtheimthangnak üng ami jah läklamsaka thumceme hin ta amdanga ni a thawn kawm.
For all the things referred to in them cease to exist when used. You are following mere human directions and instructions.
23 Acuna thumcem he cun, asihlinga khankhawngsäe sawkhahnak, mlung mhnemnak han ja pumsa mkhuimkhanake üngkhyüh ami yah pungngyam üng tüneiki ni. Cunüngpi, ami mtisa khana ami bilawh cun amdang ni.
Such prohibitions appear reasonable where there is a desire for self-imposed service, and so-called “humility,” and harsh treatment of the body, but are of no real value against the indulgence of our earthly nature.
