1 Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Salimo la Davide, mtumiki wa Yehova. Uthenga uli mu mtima mwanga wonena za kuchimwa kwa munthu woyipa: Mu mtima mwake mulibe kuopa Mulungu.
To the Chief Musician. Of the Servant of Yahweh—of David. Declareth the transgression of the lawless one, within my heart, There is, no dread of God, before his eyes;
2 Pakuti iye mʼkuona kwake amadzinyenga yekha kwambiri, sazindikira kapena kudana ndi tchimo lake.
For he flattereth himself [too much] in his own eyes, to find his iniquity—to hate [it].
3 Mawu a pakamwa pake ndi oyipa ndi achinyengo; iyeyo waleka kukhala wanzeru ndi kuchita zabwino.
The words of his mouth, are iniquity and deceit, he hath left off to show discretion by doing well:
4 Ngakhale ali pa bedi pake amakonzekera zoyipa; iye amadzipereka yekha ku njira ya uchimo ndipo sakana cholakwa chilichonse.
Iniquity, deviseth he upon his bed, —he taketh his stand in a way, not good, Wrong, doth he not abhor!
5 Chikondi chanu Yehova, chimafika ku mayiko a kumwamba, kukhulupirika kwanu mpaka ku mitambo.
O Yahweh! in the heavens, is thy lovingkindness, Thy faithfulness, as far as the fleecy clouds:
6 Chilungamo chanu Mulungu chili ngati mapiri aakulu, chiweruzo chanu chili ngati kuzama kwakukulu. Yehova mumasunga munthu pamodzi ndi chinyama.
Thy righteousness, is like mighty mountains, and, thy just decrees, are a great resounding deep, —Man and beast, thou savest, O Yahweh!
7 Chikondi chanu chosatha ndi chamtengowapatali! Otchuka pamodzi ndi anthu wamba pakati pa anthu amapeza pothawirapo mu mthunzi wa mapiko anu.
How precious thy lovingkindness, O God, —Therefore, the sons of men, under the shadow of thy wings, seek refuge:
8 Iwo amadyerera zinthu zambiri za mʼnyumba yanu; Inu mumawapatsa chakumwa kuchokera mu mtsinje wanu wachikondwerero.
They abundantly relish the fatness of thy house, —And out of the full stream of thine own pleasures, thou givest them to drink.
9 Pakuti kwa Inu kuli kasupe wamoyo; mʼkuwala kwanu ifenso timaona kuwala.
For, with thee, is the fountain of life, In thy light, we see light.
10 Pitirizani chikondi chanu pa iwo amene amakudziwani, chilungamo chanu kwa olungama mtima.
Prolong thy lovingkindness unto them who know thee, —and thy righteousness, to the upright in heart.
11 Musalole kuti phazi la wodzikuza libwere kulimbana nane, kapena dzanja la oyipa kundithamangitsa.
Let not the foot of pride reach me, nor, the hand of the lawless, scare me away.
12 Onani momwe ochita zoyipa agonera atagwa, aponyeni pansi, kuti asathe kudzukanso!
There did the workers of iniquity fall, —thrust down and not able to rise!
