< Marko 5 >

1 Ndipo anawoloka nyanja napita ku dera la Gerasa.
Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gadarenes.
2 Yesu atatuluka mʼbwato, munthu amene anali ndi mzimu woyipa anachoka ku manda ndi kukumana naye.
As Jesus got out of the boat, he was immediately met by a man from the tombs who had an unclean spirit.
3 Munthuyu amakhala ku manda, ndipo panalibe amene akanatha kumumanganso ngakhale ndi unyolo.
This man lived among the tombs, and no one could bind him, not even with chains.
4 Pakuti nthawi zambiri akamumanga manja ndi miyendo amadula maunyolo ndi kudula zitsulo zimene zinali mʼmapazi ake. Panalibe amene anali ndi mphamvu yoti ndi kumugonjetsa.
For he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he tore the chains apart and broke the shackles in pieces. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
5 Usana ndi usiku ankakhala ku manda ndi kumapiri, akulira ndi kudzicheka ndi miyala.
Night and day, on the mountains and among the tombs, he would continually cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 Ataona Yesu ali patali, anathamanga nagwa pa mawondo ake pamaso pake.
When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him.
7 Iye anafuwula kwambiri nati, “Mukufuna muchite nane chiyani, Yesu Mwana wa Mulungu Wammwambamwamba? Lumbirani kwa Mulungu kuti simundizunza!”
Then he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What do yoʋ have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure yoʋ by God, do not torment me.”
8 Pakuti Yesu anati kwa iye, “Tuluka mwa munthuyu, iwe mzimu woyipa!”
For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of the man, yoʋ unclean spirit!”
9 Ndipo Yesu anamufunsa iye, “Dzina lako ndani?” Iye anayankha kuti, “Dzina langa ndine Legiyo, pakuti tilipo ambiri.”
Then Jesus asked him, “What is yoʋr name?” He answered, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”
10 Ndipo anamupempha Yesu mobwerezabwereza kuti asazitulutse mʼderalo.
And he earnestly begged Jesus not to send them out of that region.
11 Gulu lalikulu la nkhumba limadya mʼmbali mwa phiri limene linali pafupi.
Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding there near the mountain.
12 Ziwandazo zinapempha Yesu kuti, “Titumizeni pakati pa nkhumbazo; ndipo mutilole tilowe mwa izo.”
All the demons begged Jesus, “Send us into the pigs, so that we may go into them.”
13 Iye anazipatsa chilolezo, ndipo mizimu yoyipayo inatuluka ndi kukalowa mu nkhumbazo. Gulu la nkhumba, zokwana pafupifupi 2,000 zinathamanga kutsetserekera ku nyanja ndipo zinamira.
So he immediately gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs. Then the herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea.
14 Omwe amaweta nkhumbazo anathawa ndi kukawuza anthu za izi mu mzinda ndi ku madera a ku midzi, ndipo anthu anapita kukaona zomwe zinachitika.
Those who had been feeding the pigs then ran off and reported it in the city and in the countryside. So the people went out to see what had happened.
15 Atafika kwa Yesu, anaona munthu amene anagwidwa ndi ziwanda zambiri uja atakhala pansi pomwepo, atavala, ndipo ali bwinobwino. Iwo anachita mantha.
They came to Jesus and saw the man who had been possessed by demons sitting there, clothed and in his right mind—the man who had been possessed by the “Legion”—and they were afraid.
16 Amene anaona zimenezi anawuza anthu zomwe zinachitika kwa munthu wogwidwa ndi ziwandayo ndipo anawawuzanso za nkhumbazo.
Those who had seen it told them what had happened to the man who had been possessed by demons, and they also told them about the pigs.
17 Ndipo anthu anayamba kumupempha Yesu kuti achoke mʼdera lawo.
Then the people began begging Jesus to depart from their region.
18 Yesu akulowa mʼbwato, munthu amene anagwidwa ndi ziwanda uja anamupempha kuti apite nawo.
When Jesus got into the boat, the man who had been possessed by demons begged to go with him.
19 Yesu sanamulole, koma anati, “Pita kwanu ku banja lako ndipo ukawawuze zimene Ambuye wakuchitira, ndi chifundo chimene wakuchitira.”
But Jesus did not permit him to do so. Instead, he said to him, “Go to yoʋr house and to yoʋr people, and report to them all that the Lord has done for yoʋ and how he has had mercy on yoʋ.”
20 Pomwepo munthuyo anapita nayamba kuwuza anthu a ku Dekapoli zinthu zimene Yesu anamuchitira. Ndipo anthu onse anadabwa.
So the man went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him, and all the people were amazed.
21 Yesu atawolokeranso pa bwato kupita mbali ina ya nyanja, gulu lalikulu la anthu linasonkhana momuzungulira. Ali mʼmbali mwa nyanja,
When Jesus had again crossed over in the boat to the other side of the sea, a large crowd was gathered around him, and he was by the sea.
22 mmodzi wa akulu a mʼsunagoge, dzina lake Yairo anafika pamenepo. Ataona Yesu, anagwa pa mapazi ake,
And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, whose name was Jairus. When he saw Jesus, he fell down at his feet
23 ndi kumudandaulira kwambiri nati, “Mwana wanga wamkazi wamngʼono ali pafupi kufa. Chonde tiyeni kuti mukamusanjike manja kuti akachiritsidwe nakhala ndi moyo.”
and begged him earnestly, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay yoʋr hands on her so that she may be healed. Then she will live.”
24 Ndipo Yesu anapita naye. Gulu lalikulu la anthu linamutsata ndi kumamupanikiza Iye.
So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed him and pressed in on him.
25 Pomwepo panali mayi amene amadwala nthenda yotaya magazi kwa zaka khumi ndi ziwiri.
Now there was a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years.
26 Iye anavutika kwambiri pamene asingʼanga ambiri ankamusamalira ndipo anagwiritsa ntchito zonse anali nazo, koma mʼmalo mochira, nthenda yake inkakulakulabe.
She had suffered a great deal under many physicians and had spent all she had, yet received no benefit from it, but had only grown worse.
27 Atamva za Yesu, anabwera kumbuyo kwake mʼgulu la anthu ndipo anakhudza mkanjo wake,
When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment.
28 chifukwa anaganiza kuti, “Ngati nditangokhudza mkanjo wake, ndidzachiritsidwa.”
For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I will be healed.”
29 Nthawi yomweyo magazi ake analeka kutuluka ndipo anamva mʼthupi mwake kuti wamasulidwa ku vuto lake.
Immediately her flow of blood was dried up, and she knew in her body that she had been healed from her affliction.
30 Pomwepo Yesu anazindikira kuti mphamvu inachoka mʼthupi mwake. Anatembenuka mʼgulu la anthu ndipo anafunsa kuti, “Ndani wakhudza zovala zanga?”
Jesus immediately perceived in himself that power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?”
31 Ophunzira ake anayankha kuti, “Mukuona kuti anthu akukupanikizani, ndipo Inu mukufunsa kuti, ‘Ndani wandikhudza?’”
His disciples said to him, “Yoʋ see the crowd pressing in on yoʋ, and yet yoʋ say, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 Koma Yesu anapitirizabe kuyangʼana kuti aone amene anachita zimenezi.
But he kept looking around to see who had done it.
33 Kenaka mayi uja pozindikira chimene chinamuchitikira, anabwera ndi kugwa pa mapazi ake, ndipo akunjenjemera ndi mantha, anamuwuza zoona zokhazokha.
Now the woman was frightened and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, so she came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.
34 Anati kwa iye, “Mwana wamkazi, chikhulupiriro chako chakuchiritsa. Pita mu mtendere ndipo khala womasulidwa ku mavuto ako.”
Then Jesus said to her, “Daughter, yoʋr faith has healed yoʋ. Go in peace, and be healed of yoʋr affliction.”
35 Pamene Yesu ankayankhulabe, amuna ena anafika kuchokera ku nyumba ya Yairo, mkulu wa sunagoge. Iwo anati, “Mwana wanu wamkazi wamwalira, muvutitsiranjinso aphunzitsiwa?”
While he was still speaking, some people came from the ruler of the synagogue's house and said, “Yoʋr daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any further?”
36 Posasamala zomwe ananena, Yesu anamuwuza mkulu wa sunagoge uja kuti, “Usachite mantha; ingokhulupirira.”
But when Jesus heard what they said, he immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”
37 Iye sanalole munthu wina aliyense kuti amutsatire koma Petro, Yakobo ndi Yohane mʼbale wa Yakobo.
From that point he did not allow anyone to accompany him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
38 Atafika ku nyumba ya mkulu wa sunagoge, Yesu anaona chipiringu cha anthu akulira ndi kufuwula kwambiri.
When he came to the ruler of the synagogue's house, he saw a commotion, with people weeping and wailing loudly.
39 Analowa nati kwa iwo, “Mukuchita phokoso ndi kulira chifukwa chiyani? Mwanayu sanamwalire koma ali mtulo.”
Then he went in and said to them, “Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping.”
40 Koma anamuseka Iye. Atawatulutsa onse panja, Iye anatenga abambo ndi amayi ake a mwanayo ndi ophunzira omwe anali naye, ndipo analowa mʼmene munali mwanayo.
And they began laughing at him. But he put them all outside, took the child's father and mother and those who were with him, and went in to where the child was lying down.
41 Anagwira dzanja lake nanena kwa iye, “Talita Kumi!” (Kutanthauza kuti, “Mtsikana, ndikunena ndi iwe, imirira!”)
Then he took hold of the child's hand and said to her, “Talitha koumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to yoʋ, arise.”
42 Nthawi yomweyo anayimirira nayenda mozungulira (anali wa zaka khumi ndi ziwiri). Pa ichi onse anadabwa kwambiri.
Immediately the girl got up and began to walk (for she was twelve years old), and they were overcome with great amazement.
43 Anawalamulira kwambiri kuti asawuze wina aliyense za ichi, ndipo anawawuza kuti amupatse kanthu koti adye.
Then he gave them strict orders not to let anyone know about it, and he told them to give her something to eat.
