1 Patapita nthawi, Davide anagonjetsa Afilisti ndipo anakhala pansi pa ulamuliro wake. Iye analanda Gati ndi midzi yake yozungulira mʼmanja mwa Afilistiwo.
And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them; and he took Gath and its dependent towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Davide anagonjetsanso Amowabu, nakhala pansi pa ulamuliro wake ndipo ankapereka msonkho kwa iye.
And he smote Moab, and the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.
3 Komanso Davide anagonjetsa Hadadezeri mfumu ya Zoba, mpaka ku Hamati, pamene anapita kukakhazikitsa ulamuliro wake mʼmbali mwa mtsinje wa Yufurate.
David also smote Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, at Chamath, as he went to establish his dominion at the river Euphrates.
4 Davide analanda magaleta 1,000, anthu okwera magaleta 7,000 pamodzi ndi asilikali oyenda pansi 20,000. Iye anadula mitsempha ya akavalo onse okoka magaleta, koma anasiyapo akavalo 100 okha.
And David captured from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot; and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.
5 Aramu wa ku Damasiko atabwera kudzathandiza Hadadezeri mfumu ya ku Zoba, Davide anakantha asilikali 22,000.
And the Syrians of Damascus came to aid Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
6 Iye anakhazikitsa maboma mu ufumu wa Aramu wa ku Damasiko, ndipo Aaramu anakhala pansi pa ulamuliro wake ndipo ankapereka msonkho. Yehova ankamupatsa chipambano Davide kulikonse kumene ankapita.
Then did David put [garrisons] in Syria of Damascus, and the Syrians became unto David servants, bringing presents. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
7 Davide anatenga zishango zagolide zimene ankanyamula akuluakulu ankhondo a Hadadezeri ndi kubwera nazo ku Yerusalemu.
And David took the quivers of gold that were on the servants of Hadar'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 Kuchokera ku Teba ndi Kuni, mizinda ya Hadadezeri, Davide anatengako mkuwa wambiri umene Solomoni anapangira chimbiya, zipilala ndi zida zosiyanasiyana zamkuwa.
And from Tibchath, and from Kun, cities of Hadar'ezer, did David take exceedingly much copper; thereof made Solomon the copper sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of copper.
9 Tou, mfumu ya Hamati atamva kuti Davide wagonjetsa gulu lonse lankhondo la Hadadezeri mfumu ya Zoba,
And when To'u the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadar'ezer the king of Zobah:
10 anatumiza mwana wake Hadoramu kwa mfumu Davide kukamulonjera ndi kukamuyamikira chifukwa cha kupambana kwake pa nkhondo yake ndi Hadadezeriyo, amene analinso pa nkhondo ndi Tou. Hadoramu anabweretsa ziwiya zosiyanasiyana zagolide, zasiliva ndi zamkuwa.
Then did he send Hadoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadar'ezer, and smitten him: for Hadar'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'u; and [he had with him] all manner of vessels of gold and silver and copper.
11 Mfumu Davide inapereka zinthu zimenezi kwa Yehova, monga anachitira ndi siliva ndi golide zochokera ku mayiko ena onse monga Edomu ndi Mowabu, Aamoni ndi Afilisti, ndi Aamaleki.
Also these did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he had carried away from all the nations, from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek.
12 Abisai mwana wa Zeruya anakantha Aedomu 18,000 mu Chigwa cha Mchere.
And Abshai the son of Zeruyah smote of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand [men].
13 Iye anayika maboma ku Edomu, ndipo Aedomu onse anakhala pansi pa Davide. Yehova ankapambanitsa Davide kulikonse kumene ankapita.
And he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants unto David. And the Lord helped David withersoever he went.
14 Davide analamulira dziko lonse la Israeli ndipo ankachita zonse mwachilungamo ndi molondola pamaso pa anthu ake onse.
And David reigned over all Israel, and he did what is just and right unto all his people.
15 Yowabu, mwana wa Zeruya anali mkulu wa ankhondo; Yehosafati mwana wa Ahiludi anali mlembi wa zochitika;
And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army, and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud, recorder.
16 Zadoki, mwana wa Ahitubi ndi Ahimeleki mwana wa Abiatara anali ansembe; Savisa anali mlembi;
And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Abimelech the son of Ebyathar, were [the] priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
17 Benaya mwana wa Yehoyada anali mtsogoleri wa Akereti ndi Apeleti, ndipo ana a Davide anali alangizi a mfumu.
And Benayahu the son of Jehoyada' was over the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were the first at the side of the king.
