نَادَيْتُ مُحِبِّيَّ. هُمْ خَدَعُونِي. كَهَنَتِي وَشُيُوخِي فِي ٱلْمَدِينَةِ مَاتُوا، إِذْ طَلَبُوا لِذَوَاتِهِمْ طَعَامًا لِيَرُدُّوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ. |
دَعَوْتُ مُحِبِّيَّ فَخَدَعُونِي. فَنِيَ كَهَنَتِي وَشُيُوخِي فِي الْمَدِينَةِ وَهُمْ يَنْشُدُونَ قُوتاً لإِحْيَاءِ نُفُوسِهِمْ. |

मैंने अपने मित्रों को पुकारा परन्तु उन्होंने भी मुझे धोखा दिया; जब मेरे याजक और पुरनिये इसलिए भोजनवस्तु ढूँढ़ रहे थे कि खाने से उनका जी हरा हो जाए, तब नगर ही में उनके प्राण छूट गए।
“मैंने अपने प्रेमियों को पुकारा, किंतु उन्होंने मुझे धोखा दे दिया. मेरे पुरोहित एवं मेरे पूर्वज नगर में ही नष्ट हो चुके हैं, जब वे स्वयं अपनी खोई शक्ति की पुनःप्राप्ति के उद्देश्य से भोजन खोज रहे थे.
